Still a good price. I paid full price (but got the Hulk with it).

And I lied. I don't have Helm's Deep, AND The Orc Forge. The latter I don't give a shit about, because I have no idea who Lurtz is.

Edit: I mean, you'd need like 83 orcs just for how many Legolas and Gimli killed at Helm's Deep alone. fuck that.

At this point I spend far more on Legos than on video games. Much more fun to do with my daughter, and they hold their value far longer.
 
Looking for some advice for buying legos over craiglist price wise. Guy has a bunch of early nineties pirates sets and he is asking ebay prices. Im not interested in spending that kind of money. Im more into giving him more towards retail since im saving him time listing and shipping all these sets and all his ebay fees. plus im paying cash. advice?

If he wants ebay prices he can put them on ebay, Pay the paypal fees and ebay fees. I would talk him down a lot. He doesn't have to ship and he gets cash.
 
Yeah I'd ask at least half of what he wants because that's what they would take out on eBay after commission and shipping.
 
Went to a Walmart (Salem NH) yesterday away from where I live (on a day trip) and found an end cap with a big 79$ on top and about 14 Queen Anne's Revenge ships. I had to buy it, but to my surprise, it was only $50 when it rang up. Awesome find, very happy I lucked out!

Nice find! That Walmart is like 20 minutes away from me, but I'm still on a Lego spending lockdown :lol:

Weird, some of those sets sell for a bit more on ebay and then some not so much. But yea, try to talk him down. I'd love to get the Imperial Trading Post for a decent price...
 
im going to go check them out anyways. im at least going to try and get the cheaper sets for now. they are at least reasonable. if he sits on the big sets long enough he may change his mind. maybe he has the bigger sets higher because he really doesnt want to part with them. my ships would be the last thing i would ever sell in my collection.
 
I don't own Forbidden Cove, but I followed the instructions for it on Peeron a couple weeks ago (I was rebuilding all my old Pirate sets) and I was able to build it pretty easily with pieces I already had. I've actually been doing that for several older sets that I wanted when I was a kid but could never get. A lot more fun than spending a ton of money on ebay, for sure.

Don't Jinx it, I could really care less though since I have 2 Lego stores near me. That TRU tax can be really frustrating when sales roll around, it always seems to kill anything I want to buy there.
 
I finally found the Wolverine/Deadpool/Magneto set at Target yesterday. It's been sold out everywhere around me, including the Lego Store. It was half-hidden behind a Hulk Escape. I gotta say, although the chopper itself isn't that special, the minifgs are sweeeeet! Totally worth it.

TRU is actually dropping prices on a lot of sets next week. Not quite MSRP but better than the outrageous mark ups they have now.

Helm's deep is dropping $20 down to $139.99, Mines of Moria going down to $84.99 as an example. Mini figures are getting dropped to $3.19.

The drops come as a surprise since TRU will be running a $10 off $50 lego purchase next week.
 
I was at my local Target yesterday and had a laught when I saw a mass (gotta say over 100) of Lego Speed Boats on clearance. (msrp 5 on sale at 2.49). Going today, planning to pick up 4. Make a couple of canoes with the ends. Sweet!!
 
Anybody go the the Toys R US DC heroes building event? I built the Batman shield. 196 singles on a 16X16 plate. Pretty awesome event. Also picked up CARS Flo's V8 Cafe on clearance at Target for $30!!

I made Batman and my daughter made supermangirl. It was fun, we got there at 1:30 and with luck tipped in our favor they started the event right as we got there with no one else in site! I was going to post about it but forgot too :roll: but I hope a bunch of you made it there!

I saw 8426 Cars Escape at Sea at Barnes and Noble today in their 50% off clearance section. They put a bunch of Cars stuff on clearance so I'm not sure if there are other sets available.
 
Helm's Deep is only $104 at Amazon with Free Super Saver Shipping. Not sure why, but a pretty good deal if you're interested in the set.

I picked up my figure today, I hope Gamestop doesn't screw you on this!!!

 
Crap I totally forgot to pre-order the Gamestop Lex Luthor exclusive. Can the figure still be picked up if I go to a retail store and buy the game? My other option would be to trade somebody for it. I have a bunch of new Batman Jetskis if anyone would trade me just 1 of their exclusive Lex (still sealed in polybag) for maybe like 3-4 of my Jetskis seems fair. Pm me if interested.
 
My local store had like 30 in the drawer, just ask for one eventhough you didn't pre-order...probably just depends on who rings you up.

We got a code for some in game characters too.
 
Well I went to 2 stores, and no Lex was offered. They said that the pre-order tallies were sent out and then LEGO or whoever sent them only enough Lex Luthor sets to cover the pre-orders, no extras. Therefore, they said I would have to wait a few weeks and then if somebody doesn't claim their pre-order and Lex figure, I could come back and get one. Yeah, I'm sure by then the store clerks will have already sold them on eBay for a nice $20 profit. Lame.

Target had some deals on some sets...I picked up the Batman/Catwoman set for $10, and they had the Monster Fighters finally, so i picked up the Mummy set for $11

i was also able to score 3 of the Lex Luthors from GameStop...they had a ton with 3 preorders to fulfill.
 
Maybe someone can help me out with finding a large Hogwarts set at a good price. I know Walmart is clearancing them out but none of the local stores have it in stock. I don't need the box so it would be easier to ship. Ideally I would like to get it under $50-60 if anyones store has gone that low.
 
I finally found series 7 minifigures on Nantucket! I was with friends so I just grabbed one randomly, computer nerd. :/

Oh well I wasted $4 on him. But at least I can get my Scottish guy for my grandpa.
