LEGO Deals 3

Well, the Gingerbread House lasted well over a week. I'm not particularly surprised. If it lasts past Black Friday, then they probably made way too many.

Finally got to check out or new LEGO store.  The Millenium Falcon was on display.  Very impressive but I was expecting it to be bigger than it was.

On the flipside, the Bugatti they had on display was amazing.  It looked cool in pictures, but pictures don't do it justice.  Seeing it in person?  Wow.  Damn cool set.  If only I had $350 laying around.

Eh, they're awesome in a way. It's practically the first set I ever got. I still have most of those pieces. I don't recall the sloped 1x1 clear piece existing back then, but maybe it did.

Edit: cir. 2004 ish, so yea. Kinda throws off the whole thing, since I've had every piece in that set since the 80s but the slopes.

Edit2: I didn't have the pink space man either. I had red.

Yes and some of us aren't old enough to have the first one and I'm happy we get 4 minifigures for $10. :p

Also pink wasn't even a LEGO color way back when.

I still have a dozen or so original space minifigs.  No pink though.  Might be worth a purchase just for that one.

And yeah, the "cheese wedge" piece didn't exist back then.  IIRC, it was created because of AFOLs specifically requested it.

Amazon has Tower Bridge for $180 and DO for $120. I want the DO but I'm greedy and want it with the Christms set, but I don't want LEGO S@H to run outfitter the site crashes in exactly 25 hours.

You think that's a good price for the Tower Bridge? I just thought of the Death Star, I'm really surprised it's not listed with the other sets that are soon to be retired.

You think that's a good price for the Tower Bridge?
I think it's as cheap as it will most likely get barring a Target.com price mistake. You could always wait until LEGO Shop has it's sale and hope the site doesn't crash before buying it and then you get a free holiday set.

I was going to place an order at Target for the Bat Shuttle for $58 and get a $10 egiftcard and I fell asleep. I keep debating getting one for $48 when AWD had 2-4 of them this week. I have a thing for shuttles and it seems LEGO does too as we get another Creator set next year.

Just to make bigdaddy more salty.. =P Happy Thanksgiving

EDIT: I don't know when it went live but the Harry Potter Minifigure set is available online at BN.com with purchase of $75.

I'm sure you've seen the photos but they look great.

There is also a boating set with like 20 awesome minifigures.

But why would anyone else outside of China want those? So hope Lepin copies the sets (because like they Chinese court will do anything).

The 'sale' is now live at S@H but you need to kind of guess what's on sale. The DO is only 10% off so I feel like a dipshit for not buying it last night for $120 on Amazon / Walmart last night and being greedy wanting the Christmas set.

LEGO has this very weird thing when talking about just buying minifigures...

Unfortunately, we can’t sell all our minifigures separately. Some of them, such as the figures from Star Wars™, NINJAGO®, NEXO KNIGHTS™ or THE LEGO® BATMAN MOVIE are "licensed". That means we can’t sell them individually and they only come as part of a set.

A lot of our sets are based on stories and characters we didn’t create, like Star Wars™, Disney™, DC Comics™, and Marvel Super Heroes. We’re really sorry, but we aren’t able to sell the minifigures or specialty bricks from “licensed” themes, or NEXO KNIGHTS™ and NINJAGO®. Our licensing agreements with the original creators specify that we can’t sell these “licensed” parts individually but only as part of a set.
Nexo minifigures I think have been sold on Bricks and Pieces so it's weird they are listed in that group.

Yeah, prices are shit on shop@home. =/

Walmart had some stuff on sale last night, I didn't pull the trigger either. I had two of there bulk boxes of lego in my cart but coudn't pull the trigger, they seem to go down in piece count every year!!!

Yeah I'm super salty right now. I was just about to cash out and get the Brick Bank for $136, figured 20% and free gift was good enough. Sold out in 30 minutes. There was a limit of 5. 10% off DO has a limit of 2. I don't get that.

But I'll save $250+ now. I have Pet Shop and Cinema still in the shipping boxes. I think I might sell them and just not get into this theme, or just buy knockoffs. I like the BB and DO more than PS and Cinema, but the knockoffs are only $65ish on eBay. This hobby is just too expensive and LEGO really doesn't care about their fanbase. (Looks back at the Chinese sets some more.)

Of course having said all of that if Amazon or Walmart has the Bank, DO or Fishing Shop on sale this week let me know.

EDIT!

So it seems at 3am Eastern the DO went to 20% off. Unreal how bad LEGO runs their website. Guess we should just be happy for the first time in history the site didn't crash.

That Dragon Dance looks like it has a crank in the back to make the dragon move up and down. My in-laws are originally from China so I’m hoping they can convince a relative to send these to me

I noticed that too, I thought if I was able to get the sets that you can mod it and place it on top as the roof.

My wife went to one of those Lego Express stores and they didn't have the ninjago figures. =/

So with the Chinese sets, won’t they still be available through third party sites with a markup? I feel like I buy enough other stuff from China that these won’t be impossible to get but could be pricey. Want that Dragon Dance ... seems classier than the American garbage they make for us 🤔.

Wow, that was pretty awful. The S@H "sale" is the going rate at most stores, except slightly more expensive.

By 'weird', did you mean 'bullshit'? Clearly you can just buy minifigures because they sell just minifigures, from their licensed properties and all (Simpsons, Batman, Disney, HP). Or they sell polybags with a few extra pieces. I know I would gladly buy polybags just to get the figures if there were any decent assortment of them.

Of course, they don't just want to say something like "Of course we don't sell them separately. Otherwise, who would buy Hulk-cycles and Spider-copters and walls? Why we have a whole wall/facade division that we'd have to lay off."

But why would anyone else outside of China want those? So hope Lepin copies the sets (because like they Chinese court will do anything).
There would be a delicious irony in buying Lepin copies of Chinese Cultural sets because Lego can't be bothered to sell them here.

Speaking of, my Singles Day sets arrived today. 8.0 kilograms. Looks like all three sets made it. I'll be building the Laputa castle first.

What's weird Blandstalker is why would Nexo Knights be included? LEGO has deals with Disney and DC that prevents the sale of minifigures on Bricks and Pieces, but Nexo has been there. They had like every figure the first two years and even the Borg figures from this year and there.

I'd like to thank LEGO for fucking up and saving me $105... $256 because of the Bank and tax. The Fishing Market was 30% off today, well was 30% off for less than 2 hours. It's really amazing how badly LEGO runs their website. If you have a daily deal on something the limit should be ONE not FIVE. I did manage to get the DO on backorder as it's my favorite in the theme. I really wanted the Fishing Market because the new 'friend' of mine really liked the set. Walmart is sold out at $115, I'm hoping Amazon price matches but $10 more and no free Christmas set. I could have three of them, I'm sure they will go for $40 in the future.

Of course, third world country pretending to be a first world country problems. I technically no longer employed. Probably should care more about that then overpriced plastic in a box.

Tonight's 30% off set will be the Ultimate Batmobile for $98.

The 2019 Spiderman sets have been released on S@H.

Also from LEGO...

I mean, I could have picked one up for you if you weren't going to be around to buy it. It was available for at least 45 minutes (I bought it when it went live).

I fell asleep at like 11pm and didn't know it was going to be the thing of the day, I would've set an alarm. I'm just annoyed that if I knew and acted faster I could have gotten all three sets I wanted instead of maybe one, with three free Christmas sets.

However it would have been nearly $400 after tax and that's more than I brought home in the last two weeks, so maybe it's better I only got the DO.

I just remember years and years ago I could have gotten Cafe Corner for $96, Green Grocery for $108 and either the Town Hall or Fire Station for $120 and based. Now look at what they go for.

I'm still hopeful Amazon might have the fishing shop, and less so the bank (looks kind of small to me) for Cyber Monday. Walmart had the Fishing Shop for $115 and sold out so who knows.

The Saturn 5 is temping but I really shouldn't... (Probably goes and buys it anyways). It does come in 'frustration free' packaging so AKA the box will be fucked.

The Friends boat is a great Cyber Monday sale! Was only $35 last week on AWD.

I'd like the Shark Mech and the Avengers apartment but I really shouldn.....

*Maxes out credit card*

As I was getting ready for work and deciding on Mickey or Minnie the rocket sold out. That's it the universe tells me not to buy more LEGO.

Glad I didn't debate on Joker Manor! It seems most of it sold out already, the only other set I would have gotten may have been the Ninjago Temple.

1440 pages!

Sorry guys but,

My kid is obsessed with the Disney and the other 6 and older sets. Where’s the best place, other than amazon, to get good deals?

Thanks in advance.

Target has random 20-30% off sales. You can also buy direct from Lego and sign up for a free VIP account. You’ll get 5% back in reward points plus they have random free exclusive bonus sets. You can always sell the bonuses if you don’t want them to get more money back.

If you’re after new sets…

I know you said “other than Amazon” but Brickset has this page that tracks sales on Amazon:

https://brickset.com/buy/vendor-amazon/order-percentdiscount/country-us

I get most of my great deals from Amazon or Amazon warehouse.

(For example, Cinderella’s Enchanted Evening, set 41146, is currently 33% off on Amazon — https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Princess-Cinderellas-Enchanted-Building/dp/B072BR89M2/r)

You can occasionally find good deals elsewhere but it generally means hoofing it around from store to store. Target and Walmart deals are highly variable by area but you can catch sales online with local pickup. Sign up for the Red Card at Target for an extra 5% off. Watch out for clones on Ebay.

Cinderella’s Enchanted Evening was $20.20 on AWD last night.

Target has 20-30% off most sets as 20% off LEGO's price is the normal. Nov 1-21 they had 10$ gift card when you spent $50. Added with 5% RedCard makes for some deals.

That list aunt beast posted is the best because if you don't like Amazon they normally just price match Walmart and Target so check those.

Don't forget the 10% off Target gift cards today, to add another discount. Cards aren't usable til tomorrow though.

Becomes 28-37% off the on sale sets.

^ Dunno why you're crediting someone on Flickr, because Lego emailed me this morning about that set already. The preview is already available there.

This one is also larger than the typical modular. Though I will say I think the tow truck makes it look like a City set instead of a modular set.

I do agree it probably shouldn't have been $200. More like $170-180 at most.

I credited Allen Tran because he's the one that runs thebrickfan.com and that's where I grabbed the picture from.

It should be $180. LEGO did $150, then two for $160 then two for $170.

It literally has 89 more pieces that the Dinner and cost $30 more! Yet LEGO cult people are defending the price. $80 more you can get 1500 more pieces in the Assembly Square.

For those of you who bought the UCS MF, Lego finally announced something regarding the VIP card. It's....underwhelming. A card holder and minifig

I hope that it's at least free. The whole promotion was lackluster.

On a related note, I just finished my table for the UCS MF. I need to put one more coat of wax on it and then install the glass. Just bought about $140 in bricks to create a desert landscape. That should be a fun project with the kids.
