LEGO Deals 3

I do- if he has any sets left I can trade him some cheap booze and vape juice for them. Whatever his poison is lol.
I did cannabis 'vape juice' for the first time the other day, really nice. Most likely not causing those quick deaths, just the normal slow ones. Shatter is even nicer. I'll give you some LEGO if you buy me a ton of it. :)

Lol my drug dealing days are long over. I actually try to help people stay sober now.

Saw some SW Lego clearance at Target this week...probably making room for the new sets in October.

Saw BB-8 for $50, Gorilla Walker for $75 and most of the Solo sets for 30% off.

Still had a tag for the Kessel Run Falcon, so we could have double Falcons warming shelves.

Also picked up those two Hidden Sides sets for 50% off at Walmart...thanks gatordeve86.

Sober? We don't know the meaning of that in my family. Plus weed is sooooooooo nice. I grow my own but a friend of mine is like 'try this' and he's hot so I couldn't say no.

Oddly I barely drink anymore.

I'm in the planning stages on 2-3 MOCs and damn this is where an already expensive hobby takes it to another level. If I bricklink the pieces I need, each of these MOCs is going to cost me in the thousands.

Had the wife run and get me a BB-8 at Target this morning since I was at work.  Now I have to decide if I open it for me or save it for my daughter for Christmas.  lol

So LEGO updated whats allowed and what's not for IPs in LEGO Ideas.

This is a direct quote of what's not allowed...

Don’t fit the LEGO Brand (i.e. Game of Thrones or Call of Duty, etc)

But Stranger Things is fine? The sci-fi horror show is fine. Does LEGO even think before putting out this bullshit?

Maybe they should just say "No first person shooters and no nudity"?

I think they just go by the rating. Game of Thrones = TV-MA and Call of Duty = M so those are both in the no column. Stranger Things = TV-14 so it's in the yes column.

I think those ratings are kind of silly to begin with (Stranger Things has some jump scares that got me, whereas Call of Duty and most games are so unrealistic that I often forget they even have ratings), but I get why a company like LEGO just wants a simple third-party metric that they can point to without actually having to evaluate content that isn't even perceived the same across different cultures. They just want to placate conservative parents in the U.S. suburbs because by and large those are the only people that still care about this sort of thing.

You're just going to have to do floppy wiener mini mocs instead of licensed ones. 😋

This is a company that has done a showering Santa minifiure, and currently a (lame) showering guy with rubber duck.

Floppy wieners? Who likes floppy wieners? My LEGO Ideas is a LEGO strap on. One time you might want to glue them before use.

Even Jang from Jangbricks who mainly only calls out LEGO for minifigure printing and defends prices more than I would wrote this about the new $700 grey triangle.

Subjectively, I'd be more than willing to allow this set $500 or even $550 for its over 4,700 pieces, including plenty of larger plates and an unusual number of large Technic panels for the core. There are no set-exclusive or complex molds, no expensive one-off prints other than maybe the two gray minifigs, no electronic components. At $600 USD this set would be sporting a significant prestige premium. At $700 it's not a purchase you can logically justify. You'll buy it simply if you look at it and really want it, and you're rich (by the standards of most of the world).
He even started the blog with all the nice reviews the set is getting from people who received the set for free from LEGO. We need more LEGO peeps to call bullshit on LEGO's just random pricing.

The Pirate Bay layout reminds me a lot of the shipwrecked layout of Minecraft Pirate Ship Adventure

So the 'new' Star Wars sets have been revealed. Party like it's 1982 because that's where most of the ships were last seen on scene and not hated by the masses.

Interestingly LEGO has FINALLY fixed the little gaps in the Falcon's design and it now has four sections that open instead of 12. I might have to mod mine to see if I can do the same. Thats about as positive as I can get.

Thanks for the tip. I got a like-new Parisian Restaurant for $109 plus tax.
What?!?! I was looking at the modulars, it must have just come up today. Nice find! (And thanks as I shouldn't save money until I get winter job.) :) I'll hopefully grab it when it's $128 with free gift from LEGO later this fall.

If you decide you do want one now, keep checking! Another one popped up the other day in VG condition that was $104 after the 20% discount.

I'd like to get the tron set for under 20 bucks but no such luck yet.
I got one in VG condition on AWD for $20.45 a few days ago. Not quite under $20 but close. Based on absolutely no facts or information, it just feels to me like this set wasn't that popular or maybe it was overpriced by $5 or $10. Too bad retailers don't seem to carry it since it feels like the sort of set that would have hit 50% off.

Does anyone here collect poly bags? I just found my lust of small sets and polybags. I'll try to post a picture when I have time. And with my untreated ADD that will be never.

I seemed to have just missed a $104 Parisian Restaurant. :(  It teasing me is the worst. It's the last of the modulars I will probably buy as the others cost too much / are kind of 'ehh'. (The corner garage is the biggest ripoff.)

I'm always amazed people will buy. A few Super Hero peeps go for $75+ each. Yet 30 awesome banana man with banana, swimsuit, cool t-shirt and a boombox go for like $2.25 each.

That auction is worded really poorly. They make it sound like you'll get 10 minifigs, but I'm pretty sure they're really listing 10 minifigs at $11.99 each

Yeah you definitely won't be getting 10, but if you buy then complain you didn't receive 10, maybe you'll keep it for free.  They probably won't want to give you money to ship it back.

That's how I ended up with a  full set of cigarette smoke Batman series for free.

Actually in terms of eBay verbiage a "lot of 10" means they do have to give you all 10, as the photo also indicates that. My guess is that he's a reseller much as I am on the side and that he bought like 1000 of these minifigure bags and that this is one of the less popular characters in terms of individual sales. So selling them like this simply gets rid of them in bulk rather than having them gather dust in the inventory. But yeah, lots of interesting auctions out there :).

That's a bummer, it was fun while it lasted. I ended up getting a bunch of sets at pretty steep discounts.
Lucky little.... A friend of mine got a Flintstone set for $40ish. All I got was the Magical Creatures Creator set which is really awesome, great dragon head and movable tail for about 50% off and the two smallest Arctic sets for 40% off. Love the Arctic minifigures.

BN.com has the Ninjago Movie minifigures for $1.97 each, but only a limit of 5.

Thank you! Went to my local Target and snagged BB-8 for $50. Great deal!

I'll be waiting for them to fall on the clearance endcaps.

Sidebar- if brickseek for wallyworld says a store has 2 of something do I have decent odds of getting one? Anytime it has said "limited" I've never found the item.

I think it depends on your area and store. If they are good about internal inventory tracking then I think the answer is more likely to be yes because I believe Brickseek pulls from that. Around me the answer is almost always no because their internal inventory pretty much never matches what is actually on the floor. They claim it is because of theft but I think it's really because their employees don't give a shit about logistics and frankly I don't blame them.

Depends what it is. I live near a ghetto Walmart that my 45 year old bike would be stolen and I'd be accused of theft because I have a backpack. In 2016 it was a goldmine of 50% off sets, including the awesome diving boat, my favorite vehicle set in decades.

But recently it must suck so much to work in that hell that there sets are supposed to have 6-8 in stock for like 70% off. I think they are just in the back and the employees just hate their lives so much they don't check.

Depends on set size and theme but theft is an issue. Lowes did inventory twice a year (during both busy seasons when there is more in stock) and my boss would go 'How many bags of mulch do you think are on that pellet 30 feet up?'. No chance we were within 500, but we had 25,000 bags of mulch for no reason.

And Walmart and Amazon have the Rexplorer for $70, 42% off. It has nearly 1200 dark blue pieces and two dark blue dinos in case anyone is interested.

I blame the weird pedo mustache ... bananas and ginger bread men shouldn’t have mustaches

It's Star Wars weekend at S@H. All Star Wars is double points, older sets are 20% off, you get a free Endor micro build with $75 purchase and BB-8 is $60.
