These seem most relevant to us. They were pretty cryptic about what has actually been fixed in terms of gameplay and balance, so I'm guessing it's not much.
 
Are we going to put anything in place about the scouting? Ive never used it, and don't plan on it either. Rather do things the way we do now.

What would you suggest?

I've never used it either, though I guess mostly because it hasn't been available in the franchise.

I know I'm not the only one who does my own scouting by looking through box scores of my opponent. I don't necessarily view the scouting tool as a bad thing.

RE: Scouting. I don't see the problem with it. Everyone should know their own tendencies, so if someone scouts you on 1st and 10 and you usually run it up the gut, you can just bounce it outside or audible and pass the ball. It does tell you when you've been scouted during the game. I think it adds sort of a fun element to it, although I really haven't used it much but I've had it used on me in my beloved ranked games. :)
 
I found it funny when someone scouted me in a MUT game like the first day Madden came out. I'm sure I had some tendencies in my 2 games I played.

If it's going to be used, maybe have a set amount of times to do so. I don't even know what it tells you to be honest as I've never used it before, so I'm making an uninformed assessment. :)

Agreed. In fact I'd say it brings us even closer to our oft-stated goal about replicating the real NFL experience, since that sort of scouting depth would certainly be available to real teams.
 
There's always the case of the following:

I scout all of my opponent's tendencies.... I went into my game with Zurezo knowing that he rushes like a beast with mendenhall. What did that mean? Nothing..because i couldn't stop it even though i prepared for it:D Lol, i think we should allow the scouting feature....most of us already scout our opponents as it is.

One of the players in my other online franchise made a script last year that compiles stats on the Madden Franchise website. He's recently updated it for Madden '11, I recommend you check it out:

It only works in Firefox and it requires GreaseMonkey. It's excellent though, as it provides an extremely extensive amount of stats for the league that is much better than anything EA actually gives you.

Just messed around the new patch for a couple of minutes. Observations:

I think I'm being generous when I say that they really half-assed putting the Madden 10 controls back in, as that's not really an accurate description of what they've done. They simply made certain buttons act as shortcuts for the same strategy pad functionality. There's no UI indication for Y to bring up hot routes/coverage switches, etc. At times you can literally see the game first bring up the strategy pad menu, then quickly go into the proper area as though you had just hit Up-Up yourself.

As a result, certain functionality has still not been transferred in from Madden '10. For example, on defense you can never use the left joystick for adjustments. Press coverage cannot be done by hitting Y, then down on the stick, you still have to use the d-pad for the direction. Same for D-line/linebacker shifts.

In addition, they didn't even bother mapping some functions. LT does not bring up protection shifts while on offense and I couldn't find any shortcut button at all to bring it up. Seems like they simply left it out.

So basically it's better than nothing, but it's also clearly a shitty band-aid.

Also, Madden Moments that are free and included? Put them in some sub-menu. New Madden Moments Live that costs money? NEW MAIN MENU ITEM.
 
49ers over Broncos 31-28 , Good Game Solid, It was a nail-Bitter, Frank Gore really showed up for me today, he felt that he had to end all trade talks going on within the 49ers organization, Nate Davis has solidified the 49ers decision to ship him to the Arena Football League or maybe the XFL if they bring that back lol. 49ers are looking to demote him sooner than later but due to lack of available QB's they may have to hold on to him until the rookie draft.

Does anyone know this guy btw? It seems the last couple people that were looking to join a team were completely new to CAG the day they asked to join. Not that it really matters, just wondering where these people are coming from.
 
Just got my ass handed to me 38-0 by the Panthers.

For some reason, I could NOT get the playart to appear, so for the entire game I couldn't audible (or I could, but blindly). My offense depends on audibling (I do it almost every offensive snap), so I was f*cked from the beginning.

It was 31-0 by halftime, and I was pretty much done at that point. I have never been so GD mad at a video game in my life.

Did you mention it to him? I mentioned it twice during the game (once before anyone scored) and I was told he didn't know what playart is (which was weird).

not to complain or jump on this subject, But this also happened to me while playing the Panthers I just thought it was the game or the server or something ?

Lol wtf I didn't even know what "playart" was until he mentioned it to me (I obviously know about the routes and stuff but I didn't know there was a term for it). I don't think there is some kind of hack developed to eliminate your opponents playart...that is pretty ridiculous to imagine, but I agree that it's really weird that seemingly all my opponents have this problem. No one had ever mentioned it to me until my game with the Rams like 20 minutes ago. Can anyone else I played step up and either confirm or deny this (at least in my specific game with you). I've played BigAT, Scotts, Ivan Hood several times, Deuce, jbrun, and eddie too. No one has ever said anything about their playart not showing up until the Rams.

It's obviously not a coincidence, but to suggest I'm "hacking" or something is kind of ridiculous (in my opinion at least). I have no idea why this would happen...but if anyone has any suggestions to fix it then feel free to dish them out.

No idea how or why, and I think you are right it is becoming obvious it is not a coincidence. However, I don't think anyone is accusing you of hacking.
 
Me and Ramesu , just got in an online unranked match and figured out that If the defensive teams user holds the LT button it stops the offensive team from seeing there playart. feel to practice and confirm ?
 
i'm not saying ive had problems with master awesome, I couldnt recall if i did. I'm just saying that I feel this is a fairly common experience ive had while playing online.

Ahhh that would definitely explain it then, cause I have a tendency (it's almost automatic) to always hold LT when I'm on defense (I thought I just did it at the start but maybe I hold it longer than I thought). I know it doesn't really do anything for me, but I've just done it so much in the past that it's an unconscious thing for me now. I also do it partly because I like to always be square with my LB when I'm in coverage...I don't really ever turn left or right to sprint or anything. But if this seems to be the issue then I'll definitely make an effort to stop doing that. Sorry to all I have wronged in the past :( I swear I had no idea. Like I said (several times), not ONE of my opponents before greg had ever said ANYTHING about the lack of playart or whatever to me.
 
Ramesu & the Texans outright crushed the Colts, I think it was 34-13.

I thought I had a legit chance until Reggie Wayne fumbled inside the 10 at the end of the 2nd quarter. After that it was all downhill.

Good game Ramesu. I'll be cheering for the Texans come playoff time.

Wow, I had experienced this when I was playing against some of my friends but no matter how much testing we did, we could never figure out what was actually causing it. What a fucking absurd bug.
