Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!
Doomtime.... Shame shame u think jamal charles is going to run all over my oaktown D? sheesh
I know from personal experience that Doom can run on anyone with pretty much any random back. I think he'll do just fine with Charles. :D

My backfield should be interesting this year... I doubt any of the Pats' backs is going to be ranked higher than the low 80s, and BJGE doesn't exactly have exciting Madden peripherals, nor does Woodhead. Maybe Vereen or Ridley will be a hidden gem for me.

Lol darn it....I never did get that achievement !!

And BV, although you don't have one amazing back in New England...between BenJarvus and Woodhead, you got a pretty good thing going. I'd imagine they complement each other pretty darn well if you can figure out how to utilize that...Woodhead the speedy one with good hands, and Green-Ellis the beastly trucker. I suppose it's kinda like Bradshaw/Jacobs over in New York (although BenJarvus isn't quite the level of beastliness as Jacobs in Madden)...and BigAT did pretty darn good with that system.

And who are you kidding BV...everyone knows you like to run the 5-wide spread offense all game!!!!!!! lol

Only when I had the personnel for it. :D Towards the end of the franchise I'd actually morphed into more of a ground-and-pound team once Mathews had developed and I'd built up my OL. I did end up with a pretty sick receiving corps though.

Other than Welker, I doubt any of the Patriots' skill position players on offense will be in the 90s (and I'll probably play Welker in the slot anyway, with 85 and Branch outside). The offense will definitely be built around the sheer number of different offensive weapons I have. I'm interested to see how Gronk and Hernandez will be ranked too.

Plus, I'll have this guy:

Lol true...I forgot about your insane receiving corps over in San Diego. That link that the one guy posted about player ratings actually does include New England's team (they're one of four teams who have had their player ratings posted so far), so I got a peek at your team...aside from the latest additions in the past week or so. You're pretty much spot on with what you've said so far...I'll let you check it out on your own whenever you get the chance.

Cool, looks like they just posted it about an hour ago. As you said, I was about spot on in my predictions. I was hoping McCourty would be rated a bit higher, but he's got good Man and Zone ratings, so he should be alright.

I was right about the offense, with Welker the only one in the 90s. That backfield picture will be even more crowded since the Pats re-signed Kevin Faulk.

Finally, looks like Nate Solder has some RG in his future for me (especially since I need Dan Connolly returning kicks. :D)

Thunder and lightning baby. Hopefully B-Jac is still BS in this year's game.

As long as the programmers coat him in butter again, he should be. :bomb:

There's pretty much no doubt that they'll be the top-ranked team in Madden. Looking at the Dolphin rankings, Brown's still plenty good (84 overall).

I'm not sure how far behind I am on the reservation of teams and I haven't been on CAG in Ages. But I'm trying to get back into the League. I'll post my picks in order of preference since I probably won't get the Patriots.

Patriots, Colts, Eagles, Ravens, Giants, Packers, Steelers, Chargers, Saints, Cowboys, Vikings,

I'm taking over the Patriots. Sorry buddy. ;)

I think the Colts might be available though.

Pitfallharry was looking for the Vikings or Colts, so we already have a few people asking for the same teams.

Don't know who has seniority over the other.

Anyone know the story on HydroX? I think he wanted back in as well.

Assuming all of those teams are already claimed, I would then go for ... Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, St. Louis, Cincy, Oakland, Seattle.

Just checking back in since I just got home from work and grabbed some dinner. I had the Bears last year but I am interested in switching to the Vikings. I am more checking in for other people who are interested in the Bears because they still may be open for the taking :)
Well if all my first priority teams are taken, I'll take Chicago if Superstar changes.
Mog already claimed them too.

Okay, so I want to post this even though it's not set in stone. I REPEAT: This is not set in stone. However, the pieces more or less fell into place nicely. I'm still waiting on a couple 'vets' to get back to me on their new teams and once that happens some people may be bumped to their secondary choices, but this looks good so far.

I believe EVERYONE got a team that wanted one besides Sood. n8rockerasu beat you to the Titans by a page or 2 and I know you're both pretty reliable. He seems to be a Bills fan (at least by hometown association) so perhaps you can convince him to take Buffalo (tough sell haha). If not, Sood, do you have a 2nd option? Also did I miss anyone? Any vets? I'm trying to get in touch with KayHoliday now. I feel like there's others though. Anyone have an issue with this so far?

Broncos are open? Can I take a shot at them instead. I wasn't aware they were open. If not, no big deal I don't really care.

Wow, I figured we'd have way more slots open. Assuming no other Vets drop out, we've only got 3 slots left to fill. Not bad at all.

Oh, and since someone asked me in a PM, I suppose I'll respond here: I have no plans from the outset to do a 2.0 league. Just like last year, if we're humming along and we feel like there's demand for a 2nd league, maybe we'll do it. But I don't really see any reason to start with 2 going at once.
Well this is filling up nicely. Welcome to the AFC West venom. :)
Thanks Doom, We've played before and I'm sure I'll get whooped. But I figure my chances are better than as the Bengals against Zurezo AND Deuce, Haha. I look forward to playing you again.

Edit: Broncos have just picked up Ty Warren, Good news for my Defensive Line. I'll have Elvis and Warren, ha.

Haha, thanks uber. While the Titans and Bills both appear to have the same team rating, I think I'd rather go with Johnson and Hasselbeck over Spiller and Fitzpatrick. I'm sure I'll get my ass kicked either way, but at least I'll be supporting my new local team. :)
Guess its too late to get a decent team. : (
The Seahawks are a decent team despite their QB situation.
Almost had another member in until he saw the final 3 teams.
LOL to bad. I think it could be an interesting experience playing with a team you'd never touch otherwise.
The seahawks are pretty solid out of the three left. Each of those three teams need an Andrew Luck type QB to start season two.
Yeah I'd agree with that. Tavaris Jackson isn't completely hopeless and I like the Sidney Rice and Zach Miller upgrades.

Definitely makes the game more fun, at least for me.
Doom, the Chiefs ratings are up in case you didn't see:

http://espn.go.com/espn/thelife/videogames/madden12ratings/_/team/kan/id/12/kansas-city

Charles at 95 overall, 98 speed, 98 acceleration, 98 agility, 99 elusiveness, and so on and so forth.

In other words, yikes.
:D Thanks for the link. I knew Charles would jump up but didn't think it would be that much.

Forgot they still had Thomas Jones as well. Will be a nice 1-2 punch in KC.

Thats cool, dont worry about it. I actually didnt mean to "call a team," I am still debating whether to get this game near release or not and seeing the league thread made me remember the good ol days.

I have to spend a lot of time looking to see how the community continues to play madden before I buy it. If the main course of attack is still drag routes and rbs out of the backfield I will probably skip it. I have been guarding against those for 6 years now and just have no will to do it anymore. Not talking about this league specifically but the general...what works in madden.

Have a good league guys!

So I'm torn.. As a Patriots fan, I don't really want any part of trading for Osi Umenyora (the Pats are reportedly one of the teams interested). Even if it's just for a second round pick, they'd have to sign him to a large contract which would pay him into his 30s. It just doesn't seem like a Patriots move.

However, as the owner of the Patriots in the Madden league.. Nothing would please me more than getting a dominant DE to anchor my defense, even without seeing his ratings yet.
What would they give up for Osi?
Just a draft pick. There's conflicting reports about whether it would take a 1st or a 2nd rounder. It's the contract rather than the pick which would bother me as a fan.

From a Madden perspective, sending BigAT a 2nd rounder* in exchange for Osi is a no-brainer though. :D

*Edit: That assumes of course we keep our policy of honoring existing trades which occurred before our rosters lock, which I think most everyone would agree we should. If so, I already have extra 1st and 2nd rounders coming in the 2012 draft anyway.

Still, that's a hell of a deal.

This Chiefs O-line is solid. Can't wait to see the Raiders ratings to see if I made the right decision.

Especially on the left side. Considering how much success you had last year running plays to the left side with inferior linemen and inferior backs, you may just go absolutely bananas on the ground this season. Which is good, because their passing game doesn't exactly strike fear into your heart (though neither did Oakland's).

I think you made the right decision.
