Man dies in tattoo parlor after getting "Last Rites" tattoo
That's sad for his family.. I can't even pronounce that guy's name
I think it's probably "wahkeen."

It is like wah-keen. Bizzare incident.

from article:
Leger's mother tells the Daily News her son suffered from dizzy spells but never went to the doctor because he did not have health insurance.

i hate to sound like an insensitive asshole, because it's a bizarre and sad article, but should you really be spending money on tattoos instead of health insurance? i find it ironic for that as well...afterall, if he had insurance i'm assuming he might not have had the money for a tattoo and probably wouldn't be dead.

You do realise that a TON of people don't have health insurance. Myself included. It would cost me around $100 a month for coverage. I don't know about you, but i can't afford that. But i could afford a $150 tattoo if i saved up a few months.

Am I the only one busting a gut because of the irony?

Guy gets a tatoo of the Last Rights.
Dies after having them tatooed on his skin.
What's the last thing you think he read/had read to him?

Yeah - but if you have health problems you shouldn't go around getting your arm cut up and then have ink pumped all over the wound.

Perhaps his dizzy spells rarely had anything to do with injuries in the past?

Very nice. irony its a bitch. Back to the health insurance thing. I don't have any either. It costs way to much after my last job to get coverage for my non-smoking self is like $240 a month. I can barley afford to live in my parents house.

I am also insurance less, and have been since 2000 and would like to go to the doctor's to see what is wrong with me, but a. I don't care, b. I don't have the money. see it sucks, but maybe one of these days I will have insurance again

edit: I also CAN'T wait to get my next tattoo! :) (probally before insurance)

That sucks. The health industry in this country is a beauracratic mess. Health care could be cheaper if we modernized and injected some rationality into the medical lobbyist practice.

Then it's a good thing you don't have to give the sermon.
It's really coincidence, not irony.

Don't you think?
well coincidence would be what actually happened, but if the tattoo artist died that would be unexpected, hence the irony.

the irony is getting a last rites tattoo and then dying. an unexpected, but under the circumstances (a tattoo that says the reading given to a person who is about to die), fitting end. and it's my understanding that few tattoos are only 150. that's like the starting price. if it's large and/or in color, i know people that have spent closer several hundred. that's where level two of irony began for me. if he bought insurance, he would likely have gotten said illness treated, but had no money for a tattoo, and hence still be alive. however, he got a tattoo, neglected his health, and is now dead. i don't give a crap who has insurance and who doesn't, it was just an observation.

if the tat giver is unlicensed, im thinking this was a "Cheap Ass" tattoo... i dont think youre looking at so little as 100/month where this guy is living---much more
