i have partners in time and superstar saga.
ive started playing PiT. if i finish PiT, will SSS
feel like less of a game when i play through that?
Or should i hold off on PiT and play through SSS first?

TIA

i liked SSS more and didn't finish PiT so i don't think it will be a letdown. PiT didn't look significantly better or anything imo.

I thought SSS was a much more fun game, maybe because the music or the gameplay was just that much more memorable. I don't recall once humming a tune from PiT, but I keep hummming SSS tunes constantly. PiT also completely screwed up Bros. Attacks. All in all, they're still both very fun games, I just think SSS is much better.

Agreed. SSS > PiTx3

SSS is just... a damn good game. PiT was whatever. It got better towards the end but all in all it sucked compared to SSS.

thanks guys, i was concerned with the battle system in SSS feeling dated in comparison to PiT.

I just didnt want to feel like i was playing smb after playing smb3.

I think PiT is a pretty good game, but I'm still playing it. I'm just getting to Star Temple (or something like that). That battle with the guy with the whistle and the bomb carriers took waaaaaaaaaaaay too long.

In general, PiT hasn't drawn me in as much as SSS did, which I played from start to finish in a comparatively short time. But it's a great game nonetheless. I like that they used the rumble pack and there are some fun puzzles. The story's a bit more forced and the back and forth through time gets tiresome (and was done before and better in Zelda). I think the fighting mechanics are much more complex with the addition of the babies and extra buttons, and in many cases that works to the game's disadvantage. There are like 8 items I've never even tried using because they're simply too frustrating. In SSS, I felt like I had more or less all of the techniques mastered by roughly halfway through the game, which made battles more enjoyable and less intimidating.

I actually found that by the end it was getting so repetitive that I completely lost interest... I found the starting the most enjoyable, especially using the babies in the second screen to figure out puzzles, but after a while the puzzles were all the same, just in a different landscape. I'm not even sure if I finished the game, I just went to Metroid Prime: Hunters and forgot about it.

And the Bros. attacks were getting ridiculous towards the end... Especially the copy flower... :bomb:

I agree! I just wanted to save the flippin' game but I couldn't finish the battle! Actually now that I think about it, none of the boss battles were any good. By the time you get to a boss you already have 945,765,205.89 mushrooms, they just take time, not skill.

I just liked the end cuz the storyline went a hell of a lot faster (SSS story just flowed nicely).
The Final boss fight(s) sucked ass though. Too freakin long for such a lame ending/game.
