Marvel VS Capcom 2, which version is better?
..why does a fighting game being "arcade perfect" matter to anybody??
Because the arcade version is THE version. If it's arcade perfect, then there is no reason to bitch that you couldn't pull off a certain combo, etc. Every 2nd rate fighter uses that excuse.
...also back then you could've played it
as for controller pad, i highly disagree with ps2 controller. the ps2 dpad does not have the angles like dc and xbox. and from my experience i miss alot of modifies, fast flies with sentinel and basicly anything complex it cant do consistently. go ahead try out custom combos on ps2 dpad on sakura on cvs2. you will miss consistently mid way through because of the controller set up. the xbox pad is definitely alot better than ps2 imo especially if you play picky characters in any fighter.
THANK YOU
Finally, a voice of reason. For the tools whom don't like the DC controller, buy another fucking gamepad. Don't buy the inferior PS2 version just becuase you likey the controller. MVC2 is to be experianced via the DC end of story.
This probably the 3rd time I've seen this discussion. Anyways I say Dreamcast, now good luck unlocking everything, it'll take several hours away from your life.
Nothing that leaving your DC on overnight in training mode can;t fix ;)

Unlocking characters is long, then you got the colors. It's just not worth the time.

My question is, this game has been around for years and is on 3 different systems, why the hell is it so expensive? I finally traded for a copy of it on PS2...but I had a hell of a time finding it for a reasonable price...goes for like $70 on Ebay. Seems like there would be a greatest hits version of this game or something. I know it can't be a licensing issue...both Marvel and Capcom will slap their name on anything for a few pennies.

The game is some what hard to find. But it would be nice to have a greatest hits version. Kinda funny how SCEA thinks 2D is dead, but people are still scrambling to get this game.

I think there's plenty of people that really hate 3D...I know I do. I'm more of an old school Nintendo player...so I like that there's still 2D zelda, Mario, etc. games on GBA. The N64 ruined gaming for me...only 3D games I've ever gotten into were the first person shooters...and those sort of all blur together after a while. Played a lot of 4-player 007.

I think companies could release 2D games until the end of time and people would pick them up.

Capcom no longer has the Marvel licesne, EA has it exclusively for the next 5 years or so for games... so MvC2 is valuable because its the penultament game in the 'vs' series, there wont be a greatest hits release, or a reprint. Its not gonna appear on any 'collection' discs, there were only so many copies printed, and there wont be any sequels. Plus its a kickass game in general. All that equals a game that holds its value over time.

The Dreamcast arcade stick (the one with the green buttons) is THE ultimate arcade home stick. For real. If only people made a DC>Xbox converter that let you use the headset for XBL play.

I also think I cried the day I heard that Capcom cancelled the online portion of MvC2 for Xbox. I paid $250 for my first Xbox just for that game.
