Mass Effect 3 Discussion Thread

Yeah I just read that email lol. Man their prices are still too high. I gotta save that moolah for the shit storm of fall games coming out though.

Happy N7 day this Friday though!

I said I wouldn't let this thread die and I wasn't fuck ing kidding!

N7 Day is almost upon us! The Biowarestore has started the celebration with an exclusive N7 T-shirt on sale this week only. It's pretty slick and only $21 shipped.
That shirt is pretty tempting and limited availability makes me wanna bite.

I started my PS3 run of the trilogy recently, up to Noveria on ME1. I took an Infiltrator this time around which is a first for me in the series, it's pretty fun Sniping enemies. Hopefully I can wrap it up before MCC hits on the 11th.

Bioware has a N7 Faux-Leather Jacket... although are those measurements right? They say for a Large the chest should be 25.5 inches, heck I wear 32 paints! Lol, it's gotta be a typo, 35 maybe. I see the site says you can return something within 30 days but $98 is a lot to gamble on.

I doubt we'll see any news either on the new game but this would be a GREAT time to announce PS4/XB1 remasters.

Also I caved and bought that N7 day shirt...the limited availability got to me!

I stop at $10 funko pops when it comes to statues and figures. That Tali statue is cool and all, but phew, that's too much for me.

Looks like artwork is tomorrow's new product, btw.

Also, sorry to crush our dreams, but Aaron Flynn from Bioware tweeted that they are not announcing an original trilogy rerelease tomorrow. So....yeah. Enjoy the video of some guy sitting at a desk, working in a computer tomorrow. :0/

Yeah Happy N7 Day. I think we should share our favorite moments of the series, it's share time haha.

Dat ME2 suicide side story was EPIC! I loved how everything could be changed, crew member survivability-wise, and the most gut-wrenching experience was purposely killing off all my crew members. R.I.P. Normandy Crew, just for that one profile playthrough  :whistle2:

Wow, favorite moments... Some I can think of off the top of my head:

"Shit, you sound like a pussy." Instantly fell in love with Jack forever.

Liara's gift at the end of ME3.

Shadow Broker reveal in LOTSB. And pretty much everything else in that DLC.

Miranda's conversation with the Illusive Man at the beginning of ME2. "One very specific man..."

"I wish you could see it like I do, Shepard. It's perfect."

Confronting Wrex over the decision I made about the genophage in ME3.

Joker's mini-mission in ME2.

The conversation with Sovereign in ME1. "And you will end because we demand it."

Running and fighting up the side of Citadel tower at the end of ME1.

Some of my favorite moments, not counting ones mentioned above:

ME1:

Virmire, for more than one reason

End-fight with Saren on the Citadel

Freeing Liara

Tooling around in the Mako

ME2:

Gathering all of the crewmembers together and working through the inter-relationships

The Illusive Man

Tooling around in the Hammerhead (not)

LOTSB, from beginning to end

End sequence from Arrival, which was a homage to the Citadel battle sequence at the end of ME1

ME3:

Mordin and the genophage

Rannoch and Tali

The fight with the Reaper on the ground

The end sequence at the end from the Extended Cut

End sequence from Leviathan

I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting, though we'll have some time yet to make new ones in MENext.

They're talking now about keeping the player in-world rather than having a lot of cutscenes. Maybe having HUD elements be part of the game world like in Dead Space.

Talking about balancing the "epic space journey" aspect of the game with the personal story and relationships.

Some interesting screen caps so far.  I'm curious what they're from, if it's a XB1, PS4 or PC.

Also, if they're linking in the Citadel, it would be also good to know when the timeframe for it would be within the existing ME1-3 framework, be it during, before or after.

Those were all concept art, I don't think anything shown was in-game at all.

That art might or might not be the actual Citadel, but it sure is Citadel-esque at the very least.

Between the new Mako and that Omnitool, I get the sense that this is taking place in the future relative to the Shepard trilogy. They didn't confirm anything though.

Oh, how silly of me to assume they're in-game screen caps. :dunce:

It looks a lot like the Citadel, so I was only assuming it was.

If it's in the future, it begs to wonder what the future holds and what the past they're pulling from has to offer. Goes back to the age-old question of what the "canon" ending to ME3 is as lead-in for MENext, Synthesis, Control or Destroy?

Suicide Mission was my favorite moment for sure.

I still listen to the music at work to this day.

MMmmm, lovely concept work but yeah nothing really revealed. I would be OK with a Mako 2.0. :p

and this reminded me of Guild Wars 2's Asura's World

...and speaking of epic songs, dat ME1 ending!

Happy N7 Day, a day late!

I wrapped up me ME1 playthrough on :ps3: today, the entire ending sequence from Virmire to the Citadel is still one of my favorite gaming moments.  Only need another 2.5 playthroughs for the plat  ;)

I speedran Hardcore and Insanity over three days or so, it took like 5.5 to 6 hours for each playthrough with a level 60 Soldier.

Yeah, I basically just have 4 ally trophies, AI Hacking, Neural Shock, and the Adept trophies. Will speedrun Hardcore playthrough most likely when I get back to this in the next few months after the holiday releases.

Foundation is a bunch of one-shot issues centering on a specific character from ME2 and ME3.  I've only gone through a couple of them, though they've been pretty good.

For $0.99 each, I've wasted money on far worse.
