I forget I never got this fixed - Max Payne 1 hasn't worked for me ever since I got a new computer.

I'm running on:
P4 3.0GHz (HT, could that be the problem?)
Nvidia GeForce 6800
1024 MB DDR2 RAM
Windows XP SP2

I have the latest patch I know of, 1.05, installed for it. I have the game running on all max settings (everything maxed, at 1152x864x32 resolution, i tried lower res, it still doesn't work).

So when I start it up, the intro movie starts, but whether I try to skip it or let it play till the end, the game crashes and I get asked if I want to send an error report (I did, it didn't offer any solution).

I want it to work so I can play The Real World beta, dammit!

Um, your computer matches the stats I have with my computer except my graphics card is a bit worse. I ran Max payne just fine. There is probably something wrong with the disc or the file got corrupted during installation. Uninstall and reinstall.

YA if you're running it on windows XP, XP hates this game. I tried to run it using every suggestion I could find and I still couldn't get it to run. But some people have luck with compatibillity mode.
