mcdonalds 49 cent and 59 cent burgers today

I hadn't seen anything on tv about this (usually they advertise the heck out of promotions like this), but I don't watch much tv anymore. Sadly enough, learning about a sale like this is one of the few times it actually pays to watch regular tv.

eh, you can pay 99 cents for a double cheeseburger any day of the week here, why would you go to pay 59 cents for a single

Um...more bread?

I remember on Tax day awhile ago they would have $.29 and $.39 hamburgers and cheeseburgers, the deal doesn't really seem worth it to me anymore.

Mostly unrelated, but anyone remember about 7 or 8 years ago when Taco Bell was selling the Regular Tacos for $.25 each? I remember my buddies and I phoning in our order for 8 10-Packs to Taco Bell that day. They had them ready in like 10-15 minutes. It was some promotion for when Fire Sauce made its debut.

In the UK, all this week, every day it's been a "buy one get one free" type deal.. buy a big mac, get another free.. buy a quarter pounder with cheese, get one free.. every day.. not fair!

A little harsh, Scorch. I thought his comment was pretty funny.

Burger King needs to bring back free Fry-day (free small/medium fry just for showing up).

I haven't been a McDonalds regular since they served pizza back when I was a kid in the late 80's. Does anyone else (probably fellow New Englanders) remeber this?

I was thinking the same thing. One time after work, I only had $2 on me and didnt eat breakfast so I stopped and got 2 double cheeseburgers. Went home and ate them and afterwards I was so tired, I barely moved from my couch for hours. I think they drug the food with roofies or something.

damn, in my neighborhood in NYC it costs 1.49 on a good day.
The McD's around here aren't very found of the dollar menu and don't have anything but the bare minimum on it. They seem to add and take off things at their whim.

When the dollar menu first started it was on there, but stuff kept disapperaing. I went to Texas to visit some family and I saw the dollar menu there and I was like what the hell? Guess rent costs too much in NYC

I remember going through the drive thru with my father and having him order the pizza for me, and then waiting fifteen minutes on the side of the building, that part designated for orders that take longer than expected. After those fifteen, my dad just got fed up and left, leaving my pizza behind.

Probably would've tasted like crap anyway.
Has anyone stopped to think that when they sell a burger for 49 cents, how low grade the meat must be for them to make a profit on it?
Oh, and perhaps you were thinking one might receive a high quality meat in your 49 cent hamburger? :D

promotions arent always done for profit you know.

Of course people who are new to McDonalds that get drawn into this deal will have to learn how to tolerate having a clown take a dump in your mouth under the guise of it being food.

Well, the Donatos chain that McD's ran was really good, and fairly cheap. But they expanded too quickly, thinking people would go to it like they did for hamburgers. Closed within a year. Too bad, one of the few chains that had green olives.

If this was 29/39 cent hamburger/cheeseburger day, this might be worth a trip. Anyway, I try to avoid McDonald's.

Does anyone's McDonald's serve hot dogs? I remember reading that they were going to start making/selling hot dogs. Can't imagine how gross they would be. Hot dogs are pretty damn low on the food chain to begin with... can you imagine a McDonald's hot dog? Yecch!
