MGS: Peace Walker Collector's Edition - $49.99 at GS

For those who preordered the Big Boss pack in store, can you tell me the 6 digit item number on the receipt? I'm paranoid that they might have put mine as the regular version (though I dont know that code). Its right under the RESERVE ORDER DEPOSIT part.

Nope. I got burned on collectors edition of demons souls because I waited to long to pre order it. BN ended up canceling the order on me. They had it listed on their site for months after it came out and everyone was sold out of it.

And your not understanding what I am saying. Has nothing to do with priority. It has to do with BN listing it was orderable from gamestop when gamestop has long stopped taking pre orders for it, and that stuff ships from gamestop.

And hate to tell you but I cant count the amount of times Ive ordered something off a website and it wasnt instock and discontinued. Its happened to everyone at some point.

Its just like amazon lets other people sell stuff on their website but amazon isnt responsible for what they arent selling themselves.
 
team to whoever asked last page, if you didn't pre-order you are pretty much screwed, at least thats what the ones in CT are telling me. I am calling around to see if they have any more for pre-orders, and the ones around me only received 1 - 3, for some reason no one pre-ordered it, maybe cuz the camo looked ugly in the picture, but as the pic on the last page showed, the camo actually looks much nicer than the pic they had up on the site.

I regret not jumping on the Collector's edition of the game. But that PSP looks real nice. I liked the design ahead of time but when I saw a better picture of it on the backside I noticed the camouflage is actually the militaire sans frontieres symbol.

Did either of you guys order from B&N *after* the CE was taken down from Gamestop's website? Or did you order it a long time ago?

I ordered the CE from B&N the day after it was taken down from Gamestop's site, and I was given an expected ship date of Monday. It is now Tuesday morning, with no shipping confirmation or charge :whistle2:(
 
The CE doesn't come with the Big Boss bundle, does it? Anyway I just ordered it from B&N, but it wouldn't apply my AAA discount for some reason...

no the Big Boss bundle just comes with the regular version in a cardboard sleeve.

I just checked my receipt, and it has the same code, so we should be good. When I first preordered, I double checked the website, and that sku number was for the Big Boss Pack and not the Entertainment Pack. You can't check it now since they have taken it off of the website, I guess it's a good thing I broke my "no preordering" rule. Btw, did you get a call from "Cheryl?" That was funny.

Okay, that's just crappy. I pay 200 bucks and I don't even get a regular PSP case. I guess I'll buy a used sports game and steal the case and print my own.

I ordered the day it was pulled from GS. It was off the site by the time I ordered.

They gave me free overnight it seems...it's already out for delivery.

Thanks for checking, went to my store, UPS hasnt arrived with my bundle yet, so still more time to wait! I deleted/ignored the call, so maybe it was Cheryl, sorry dont know!
 
Man, when I was thinking art book, I was thinking maybe one of those notepad sized booklets that's crammed in the case, but that box is huge! Can't wait to get mine now.

Hey sorry I'm unable to right now. The actual back I assume is all black, but theres a sell sheet stuck to it, which I'm going to assume is the same as what you see on the back of the regular PW case. You know, screenshots, copy, all that stuff.

glad I didn't buy the LE now. so not worth it unless you're an uber-fan of the MGS franchise. Book should have been a HC, all art books included in LE should be HCs
 
I got the Spirited Green pack instead of the Big Boss. I was the only one at my store to order the CE or the Spirited Green. Also there was only one pre-order for the Big Boss pack as well.

They had an extra Big Boss Pack but not the Spirited Green.... I also snagged the last Bandana :D

I cannot post pics though cuz I am at work. I shall post em later tonight. But man the Green PSP looks awesome!! :)

Eh, I am glad I managed to pre-order this with the 25% off on Gamestop's website so it ended up being $37.50. I was hoping for a hardcover book as well or at least a different cover for the PSP game case. Ah well, still looking forward to the game!

I'm kinda a MGS fan, but don't know if I want the CE, since it's just an art book for an extra $10, so I don't know if I should cancel the order I have.

Seeing how it is already selling for $80 on ebay and they are not making any more

If they don't come out of left field and print a shitload more like they did with MGS4, it should. Even if it doesn't you shouldn't have any problem selling it to someone here at cost or a bit higher, or trading it for something else...

Just remember what happened with the Subsistence LE that was also onlyy available for pre-order.

I never got anything signed before, and am planning to be at BB this Friday.
I'm getting the Collector's edition of the game, and correct me if I'm wrong but I should open the box, take off the factory seal of the game and get Kojima to sign the box of the game, right?

I just want to make sure I get him to sign on the "correct" place.

That was significantly more limited than this release, however. This didn't sell out until a few days ago and it's on a less popular system. Not saying it won't maintain or maybe increase in value, but certainly not to Subsistence LE levels.

Edit: It looks like a local GS still has the Big Boss bundle in stock. I'm debating whether I should get that instead.

I just came back from my lunch break to pick-up the BBB and the LE game and realized I forgot to get my bandana also.

I should really stop going to this particular GS though. Last time they didn't give me my Yakuza 3 preorder code and the guy at the front had no clue what I was talking about.

I eventually contacted GS CS and they emailed me the code.

Well think about it... if he signs the plastic then that is going to be completely useless once the game is opened, not to mention it's much more likely to rub off on plastic...

Happened to me when I got NGS2, they didn't give me a preorder code and I know they got them since they were advertising the promotion, had to email GS CS so I could get it. Stupid gamestop employee told me everything was in there when I asked.
 
I was able to walk in to Gamestop at opening and pick up a Big Boss PSP bundle without a preorder. They also had the LE artbook set because I asked to see it and he was already trying to ring it up.

I want it but its too much to double dip on for one day.

You pay $10 more for a softcover 40 page artbook. Maybe it'll fetch a profit on ebay but judging it purely on the content, definitely one of the weaker CE's I've seen. If you're a huge MGS fan then by all means go for it, but seems like another cashgrab to suck in people who gotta have the CE for every game they buy.

Edit: If you're talking about the PSP bundle, I think that one's pretty decent actually. I got a chance to see the PSP up close and personally I think it looks pretty nice.
 
i dont think the 40pg softcover artbook is worth the extra 10$, unless youre totally OCD when it comes to metal gear.

the psp big boss bundle was indeed a sweet set. i like the matte finish of the psp, im tired of all the piano finish psp 2s and 3s. they are just skin oil magnets.

also its a bump to a 4gb card instead of the normal 2gb. the carry case, i have to say is super sweet. its light and soft with a velvet/suede type material on the inside to protect the psp.
