Saw these in an ad today, kind of like Mighty Muggs ... yet terribly ugly ... sort of like those Gears ones ... http://www.spawn.com/toys/series.aspx?series=454

It amuses me that companies think that all they have to do for a good vinyl figure is make it a weird shape and throw a crappy paint job on it. At least the Muggs are visually appealing, although I wonder if they would appeal more to the urban vinyl community if they were slightly smaller.

saw spawn.com and got excited. I still gotta upload the b-day cake I made with a hulk mighty mugg center piece.

They look alright not sure if I would get them.

Spawn actually had an awesome vinyl through medicom ... lemme see if I can find a picture ... http://www.toytokyo.com/productImages/8272_1.jpg and http://images.entertainmentearth.com/AUTOIMAGES\MF11623.jpg

I personally find this style of vinyl way cooler, but they do deviate from the urban vinyl's that are based more on the artwork than the shape.

It would be great to see Mighty Muggs expand the line with more alternative comic characters but I doubt that's going to happen.

i have to check a couple more targets...

i can't seem to find any more of the indiana jones ones at k-mart or wal-mart on the cheap that i'm missing. :(

the count dooku and asajj ventress from walmart.com came quickly and were in great condition (boxes not all banged up, etc). not bad for $10 for 2 shipped :)

Kinda odd they're clearing out the TF MM's before the new movie comes out, also odd that the Optimus Mugg is the SD CC exclusive this year for a group that's dead as far as I know. Any word on the SW or Marvel exclusives? Did Wolverine with the extending claws end up being the Marvel exclusive, anyone know?

isnt it the spiderman where u can take his mask off?

or is that part of the new wave?

5.48 is a great price for those. i have 3 complete sets of grimlock\starscream for trade\sale. i have quickly been snagging the muggs up anytime i see a good price on ones i dont have or a spare set for here.

i still have two blank muggs i bought from urban outfitters for 4.99 each i have no idea what to draw on, haha.

checked 3 targets and only one had some of the transformers one. i only have bumblebee so far...waahh :(

I haven't seen TF muggs clearanced at the Targets in my area of Socal. I did see that they had a Temporary Price Cut on SW Muggs to $9.34 (15% off). I've been seeing more and more TF Muggs except for Starscream. It seems that is the one that always sells out as soon as they get them in. I'd be interested in picking up a second one (especially on clearance).

Only Kmart got TF Muggs in my town, they wanted I believe $13.99 a piece, and they NEVER got more than Wave 1... ugh. Wanted a damn Starscream >_>

fuck my Target.

Grabbed Optimus and Bumblebee on clearance at Target (7.xx). Optimus' box is a little bent, but whatever.

I would like Grimlock at some point.

Not sure I really want/need Bumblebee.

I passed on Bumblebee. My Target had Optimus, Grimlock and Bumblebee. I usually get them just because, but I really dislike Bumblebee as a MM and so he shall never join my others hahah

During my trip to MA last week I scored Chewy at my old TRU.
Then I bought Bumblebee at Target on clearance.
Then I found Destro and Baroness at another Target.
And lastly I got Qui-Gon Jinn at Newberry Comics.

Newberry Comics had all the new X-Men, and all the online exclusives.
Qui-Gon was $15.99. I almost bought Ackbar for $19.99 but passed at the moment.

Nothing special, my Target will NOT cycle new items and so I am cursed with countless grand moffs. At $9.xx I nabbed Plo Koon though, maybe they will at least put out one new SW MM now?

It was like Christmas yesterday while Mugg shopping. Went to Target and got Megatron, Soundwave and Bumblebee on clearance. Then I went to Toys R Us and found a Destro. I turned around and there was Grimlock and Starscream. Went down the aisle with the Marvel Muggs, saw Jigsaw so I grabbed him and behind him was a Punisher. Basically my trip to TRU was the equivalent of that youtube video of those little kids going nuts after opening up their N64 at Christmas.

Your collection is sick fox, though my TRU has had a crapload of Punishers/Jigsaws.

I do not know if this has been reported, and if it has I am sorry, but searching TRU's webpage 4 unique Muggs came up at $19.99 and are able to be preordered for when they are released on July 1st 2009.

*Click on the picture for the respective page on TRU's site.*

Those were actually Previews exclusives that were released to anyone with a Diamondcomics account last fall.

They cost $20 from Previews as well.

BBTS has Thanos and Skull available as a pair right now for ~$44 shipped:

Got Spiderman Venom and Iron Man at a yard sale for a buck a piece. Some little kid took the wolverine they had before I got to it. Yah I'm going to put them on my desk at work. Going to go to a few places tonight and see if I can find a Punisher and Galactus one.

They had Bumblebee for like 5.74 at the Target in Lacey, WA. I passed though since I don't collect transformers muggs. Would also be hard to convert it to anything else.

I haven't bought a Mugg in about a month now. I'm thinking of just buying all of the Plo Koons, Grand Moff Tarkins, and Han Solos just in hope of my local Targets putting out something new..

The SW TRU "exclusives" are a real kick in the pants to Previews. You can even see the PX Previews Exclusive sticker on the box at the TRU website page :oldman:

So here's the story so far:

Mighty Muggs hit various retailers.
MMs take up too much space and don't sell as well as hoped.
Retailers decide to discontinue stocking, and begin to clearance.
TRU takes the reigns and vows to be the sole B&M retail supporter.
TRU gets a lineup of previously exclusive MMs and charges double-retail for them?

Something just went dumb.

thePhilDown, just went to the Olympia, WA store and noticed that all they had were Marvel MMs. Did you buy the rest of the Star Wars ones by chance?

unfortunately that's the first time I've seen alot of those. Love those ewoks!!!

Picked up Baroness at TRU. I hadn't realized that they raised the price of MM to $11.99. I found it weird that this TRU did not have one Marvel MM in stock. Also, they only had 4 Moff Tarkins but they had alot of the GI Joe Muggs.

Gosha, the only Mugg I've bought recently was a Human Torch at the K-Mart on the corner of Sleater Kinney and Martin. Figured I'd buy him since I hadn't seen one of him in a good six or so months. :)

This made me sad to see this thread on the bottom of the page.

The glorious age of mighty muggs are slowly halting : (

On the bright side, I finally found a Starscream at TRU which I got for free because I bought Prototype, and used a $10 off a $50 purchase coupon, making the MM free!

Around these parts, it's not halting - it's dead. Of the places that sell Muggs, there hasn't been a new one in stock since at least February. As for the lines themselves, info about them have slowed to a trickle. We've known of a bunch of Muggs that have been scheduled to come out eventually, but that's about it. Here's hoping SDCC shocks some life back into 'em.

Yeah, I'm so tired of stopping by the toy lanes, after checking on clearance games, and seeing Hoth Han Solo, Moff Tarkin, Plo Koon and Duke over and over again

I took my family to the Tri-Cities, which is about an hour and half from where we live. My daughter is going on a class trip to Florida so we head out to buy her clothes for her trip. Anyway, I love comic books and I had a falling out with the local place that sells comics in my town. I stop to visit a place called Underground Adventure. Its has comics, tons of graphic novels, D&D, card games, comic toys, and MIGHTY MUGGS.

I picked up a black suit Spidey, and Ultimate Avengers Captain America, and Star Scream. Going back for more!

That is my case EXACTLY.

Hmmm...another Wolverine?

Also, looks like the previously SDCC exclusive Iron Man will be getting a re-release:

and in TF news:
Also confirmed are Movie-themed Transformers Mighty Muggs. No word yet on which characters from the films will receive the Mighty Muggs treatment, although Movie Optimus Prime and Megatron are practically a given.
