Mirror's Edge PS3 Free DLC on UK store

Just created a UK account, took 5 min because on the UK PS Store the Time Trial Pack labeled Pure, which goes for 9.99 on the US Store is Free, good pickup if you have the game which I recently picked up for under 20.

im at 80 percent download right now so once its finished I'll update you if it works, i think it should

and rdogg i understand that if it was beholden to just people who live in the uk than it should be put in their region, but if people can make multiple accounts then the dlc isnt region specific, unless it doesnt work then i am completely wrong, we'll know in a couple of mins.

I hate to thread-crap but why would you post this when you haven't even tried it out yourself?
 
It won't work. DLC is tied to the Game Id. The game ID is different for the US and EU version of the game. Just like Singstar and LBP DLC from the EU store won't work on the US versions of the game.
 
i didnt even think it wouldnt work since Ive done the same thing with other dlc on other games a while back, but now i have some doubt and i admit it may have been premature to post, give me a sec... im booting up the game now

exactly what i have been saying and thinking!
but at least this post was a valid attempt to bring something to our community versus all the others asking "is there a deal on X game?"

How about the more "veteran" users taking this quiz as well? I'm not speaking of you, but look around and you'll see it's not just new users.
 
Before you post any new thread, it could pop up saying "Is this a question about a deal? Are you looking for a deal? etc." and based off the answer, send them to the right forum :O

Or you need to post a certain amount of deals in order to gain access into the Trading forum, and the other misc ones we have here.

Personally I don't think that's a good idea because it basically favours those who have the time / resources / knowledge to find deals, and disadvantages those who genuinely want to trade or sell but don't have the time or know where to look for deals.

I just see those methods being done on other forums so I thought I would mention it.
 
Wow, what's the big fuss in here? The guy thought the DLC would work on the U.S. game. Big deal. I might have thought the same thing. Demos, themes, etc., from other regions work fine on U.S. consoles, so I can see where op was mistaken.

Honestly this thread was more useful than all of the "MANAGER'S SPECIAL! BEST BUY IN [insert your town here] HAS GUITAR HERO WORLD TOUR BAND BUNDLE FOR $5!!! TWO COPIES LEFT!!" type of threads that seem to be filling up the front page more and more. Not that that's saying much, but it was worth the effort, op.

I agree- this thread is still relevant to UK CAGs. Maybe one of the mods could move this to the UK regional board (where it doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet).

OP- don't let the people complaining in this thread discourage you from posting in the future- just remember that some people are very particular about what is posted in the main forum.
 
thanks for the input guys, my first flaw is that I thought i had a deal before verifying the dlc, good info for future reference imo...

I posted a deal when I first signed on here and people got all pissy because I didn't factor in the shipping price for the deal (even though, with the shipping, it was still cheaper than anywhere else). Guess how many deals I'm willing to post for you guys now? Yep, 0.

Definately there are worse, like begging for xbox live trial or point codes on every single forum and telling people to fuck off when they are told they are in the wrong forum or that there is no begging.

There is free DLC, but there is also one for $10. I don't know what is included in both, as the descriptions are very vague. Both mention Time Trials and the one that costs mentions something about 7 maps. I haven't played the game yet, so sorry if this sounds confusing.
 
there is a free dlc map for ps3, but its not the map pack "Pure" which goes for 10 bones, i just downloaded the free map which is pretty cool because it shows the possibilities of the dlc,

thepike241 you probably are thinking of the single free map that was marketed as ps3 exclusive which is stupid imo, nothing should be exclusive on cross-platform games.
