Need help on gaming TV

Sgt Barone

CAGiversary!
Hello Cags,

I am buying a TV for my college dorm, and I fortunatly have about 250 dollars to work with. I have found a 24 inch Toshiba led TV that is full 1080p, and even has a gaming mode. However when my brother bought a TV for his dorm, he bought an Insignia TV with the same specs (1080p and 60 HZ) he ended up with a lag problem that he never totally fixed and ended up having to stop playing Xbox all together. It may be worth noting that it did not have a game mode.

Today at Best Buy, the salesman told me that it was "all in the HZ." So I looked for a small TV with 120 or so HZ, and I was unsuccessful. (If there is one out there, it will probably be too expensive

I then went over to the Xbox demo station and noticed that the small TV (Samsung) had no issues with lag at all. It was an LCD but thats all I could make of it.

So I ask you, my fellow Cags: what makes a tv lag-free for gaming?

Is it "all in the HZ"? Is it the resolution? Or is it the brand? Or any combination of these three.

Help me answer this question once and for all.

Thank you
How do I use a box on that? and I assume tv is out of the question on a monitor as well
Connectivity
Input Video Compatibility: Analog RGB, Digital
Connectors: D-Sub, DVI-D, HDMI

As far as TV, a monitor does not have a built in TV tuner, so your PC would need to have one (or you would need a cable box w/HDMI out).
