I just got back from my first trip to Kmart since the incredibly terrible "10-50% off clearance games" ad from 2 weeks ago, and this time there were quite a few unannounced drops. What I saw was:

:ps3:
Bioshock GH $6.99 (previously $9.99)
Front Mission Evolved $9.99 (previously $19.99)
Rock Band Country Pack 2 $4.99 (previously ?)
Dragon Age II $17.99 (previously $19.99)
There were 3-4 other rock band track packs for $4.99 also (previously ?)

:360:
Bayonetta $9.99 (previously $19.99)

:ds:
Glory of Heracles $9.99 (previously $14.99)

If I go again in the next few days, I'll let everyone else know what else went down. Best of luck to everyone finding some other deals!

(PS, if I screwed this up somehow, sorry)

Lemme guess... it's a town with a long abandoned building that used to house a Cub Foods and a Walmart?

I'm not sure the Sears is next. It got less people than the Kmart most days, but it does tend to sell the appliances/tools at a decent clip.
The whole corporation is going down - it's inevitable.

No, they've been in the same building since new........ in the 70's. They're essentially in a forgotten corner of the business district.

Unless they spin off or sell Craftsman when they fold, it will die with the company. That would be a shame.

Anyone get their Smash 3DS preorder cancelled?  I preordered back in June, and then yesterday, after I decided to check up on my order (contacted customer service), they sent me an email saying they were going to cancel my order due to unprecedented demand.  This makes no sense, since I preordered early and should thus be one of the first to receive a copy of the game.

So yeah, I could totally understand why Kmart is sinking.  Terrible everything.

Our kmart hasn't gotten a new release Nintendo game in forever. Maybe we will see some games come in over the holidays. I don't know if they get any big releases these days. Kmarts prices on general merch are nearly triple walmart and targets prices and almost all the food in the store is expired or close to expiration. I certainly am not shopping at kmart just to pay more. Also NOTHING and I mean nothing in the store rings up in the register the same price as the shelf tag, sign or ad. No wonder they are failing.

So went back to K-Mart Sunday to check on the prices of the other clearance games. I walked around electronics over and over again. No one was around. Finally saw someone, asked them, said they'd get someone. No one came. Kept waiting. Saw another employee, told them I needed help in electronics, they would get someone, no one came. Kept waiting. The same woman walked by me, told her I was still waiting, she finally got on the walkie talkie and asked for someone. A girl came and grabbed a few games I wanted to check, rung up as not in system, so the girl just told me the price listed on the games.

What a waste.
what!!! you have to vigilante and fight for that 90% off hahaha most gamers arent intimidating enough to get there way (trust me how you look and act plays a big part in it specially if they act like you dont know whats up) or give up to easy not me i fight for it...i live for the cheap games! They love to walk all over gamers/ppl that wont fight for the 90%

Oh wow. I might jump on that.
Daaaaaaaaaayum. If Kmart wasn't so far I'd go right now. That's a fuck ing steal.
Well IATCG lurking ass just posted it on slickdeals so if there any in ya areas probably won't last long just a head up

Sears killed the Craftsman brand the day they began manufacturing the tools in China. Personally, I would absolutely love the idea of one day being able to buy Craftsman tools from Harbor Freight solely for my love of irony.

Funny thing now is Craftman's "Lifetime Warranty". There's no way to distinguish whether that really means the life of the tool or the life of Sears anymore.

No it's a legendary drop lol
Love it! Normally I just like the post, but this one deserved a personal reply :)

I'm waiting to buy the Ultimate Evil Edition for semi-cheap, but if I find a 360 vanilla version for <$5 I'd buy that instead. My K-mart recently dropped their copy from $60 to $50, and the old employees there still think the tagged price in the case is the actual price it will ring up at every time I tell them I'd like a price check.

CAG HINT: for you younger CAGs who get no respect from old lazy employees not willing to do a price check, just tell them you'd like to buy something, then when it comes to register-time, look sticker-shocked if it rings up a price you don't like, apologize, and immediately walk away.

Nice Freudian Slip there, Romeo.
Just saw it. Fixed. :)

A couple years ago, he bought five copies of a game at target which was clearanced. Bragged about it here then soon found out the trade value wasn't worth a 'flip'. When I called him on it for being a scumbag, he PM'ed me and told me he would now purposely return them to a target far away from me so I can't get a copy for myself.

More trouble for Sears Holding Company. The insurance companies that sell derivitives for the inventory Sears receives are raising rates to a level that it doesn't make sense to buy the insurance. The next step will be for suppliers to force Sears to prepay for all the inventory they buy, that's the death knell of most retail. I really don't expect them to make it through the end of the year or maybe January 2015 at the latest. Use up those gift cards while you can.

And really, once the tool breaks that means the warranty is over anyway since the life of the tool has expired.

Has anyone scanned Diablo 3 for Xbox 360 recently? I think I remember my Kmart having some of those. I'm just wondering if they had any epic drops like the PS3 version.

my KMart is closing in January - do they have nice going out of business sales? or just ship the merch to other stores?
not really everything including clearance prices are raised back to Msrp and then a slow steady series of percentage off where most the good stuff will sell out at only 30% off and consoles usually sell out at 10% off

The local store that is going out of business started at 20% off games and has held there for about two weeks.  They didn't re-tag any of their clearance items and are selling them at percentage off tagged price.  Probably because this store had a ton of worthless stuff on clearance that nobody would buy; they had at least two wall pegs full of Wii pistol accessories at $2 each.  Might buy a couple to try modding them.

Not true actually. The latest store to close in my area actually kept the clearance prices when they started going out of business.

77 Stores Closing within next 2 months most by Christmas time. and a good portion of credit rating institutions just recently downgraded Kmart status only one slot above default.  The list of affected stores is in the pdf attachment
