Newegg 48 hour deal - Radeon 6770 + Stalker: COP & TW: Shogun 2 - 89.99 AMIR
I wonder if my comp could handle that.
You'll need a 650W minimum power supply to ensure you don't ruin it when you're playing games with maxed out graphics. Someone feedback-ed they had a 520W but that's really unwise.

That's some serious overkill for an X770. 650w? I run a 560ti on that. I'd say anything over 500 and you're fine.

Good deal if you really want shogun now, but I would wait until the 7000's come out. Shogun will almost definitely go on sale again for 15-20 soon

Ok, since we're on the graphics card topic... I kind of want to get a card. I got a new computer has as an integrated Radeon 4200. All I want is a midrange card that's going to play what I want (not much) for a good while. I had a Geforce 7600GS in my other computer that lasted for years, doing everything I wanted, so i kind of want a new age version of that. This card seems pretty good, but I did a quick peek and also noticed these:

The first and third lose a bit of clock speed, but the second one is even higher than the deal card, even though it's cheaper. Thoughts?

Cool, like when people post hardware deals :) Though I have seen Newegg sell a 460gtx (256bit) for $100 AR so I would probably rather do that next time.

There are more factors than just clock speed. The card in the OP has almost twice as many stream processors than the second link, which make up more than enough for the lower individual processor clock speed. The core clock speed is also higher. You want to be looking at the number in parens, your first and third are 4.0 and 4.1 respectively, the card in the OP is 4.8.

I don't actually know what each specific thing does. But generally, higher number = gooderer.

I have a 430w PSU supplying my computer which includes an i7 870 and Radeon HD 5770, and I max out games just fine. You do not need a huge PSU if you have a well made, efficient one.

That said, I'm wondering if the 6770 is worth it upgrading from the 5770, or if I should just save up some extra money and spring for a better nVidia card. The microstuttering I've seen discussed in regards to AMD cards (and that I experience in a number of games) is almost enough to make me jump ship from one brand to another.
