Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero (New album is out! GO BUY IT!)
How many songs do you guys expect we'll hear via being "leaked" like this?
If you watch the mp3/music blogs then I'm sure most tracks will have been "leaked" before the album is out. Happened with last year's Gnarls Barkley and Of Montreal (months before actually) and the recent Shins album (again months)

In This Twilight was found in a bathroom last night along with this picture.

Lyrics:

watch the sun,
as it crawls across a final time
and it feels like,
like it was a friend.
it is watching us,
and the world we set on fire
do you wonder,
if it feels the same?

and the sky is filled with light
can you see it?
all the black is really white
if you believe it
as your time is running out
let me take away your doubt
you can find a better a place
in this twilight

dust to dust,
ashes in your hair remind me
what it feels like
and I won't feel again
night descends
could I have been a better person
if I could only do it all again

and the sky is filled with light
can you see it?
all the black is really white
if you believe it
and the longing that you feel
you know none of this real
you can find a better a place
in this twilight

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with "with teeth" either. I've only listened to that album all the way through less than a handfull of times. The Fragile was the last real NIN album. I'm not holding my breath for this album though I'll still pick it up.

I believe somebody needs to listen to the new tracks and then put their foot in their mouth.
I got mine off of OiNK, but you could try this board.
Thats not a link with download links, thats a link to several hundred links that may have something I might potentially be interested in at some later date.

This would be easier if you were on AIM. Though my upload speed is pretty shitty. :whistle2:k

PM sent.

Wow, "In This Twilight" is some beautiful stuff!!!! I love this song! I didn't want it to end... however I get the impression that it is serves as kind of a lead-in for the final track. Aaaaaaaahhhhh, the excitement builds!!!! :D

Another excellent track. I almost feel obligated to buy the album when it's released, even though I'll already have it downloaded.

this album sounds outstanding SO far. Definatley sounds different. I didn't get into NiN until 05 when i bought the downward spiral for the hell of it and realized, wow i really am missing out. With teeth was a GREAT release to the guy who said it didn't impress you. You need to understand good production and a talented band. The only album I haven't listened to is The Fragile

Any good?
The only album I haven't listened to is The Fragile

Any good?
Absolutely; in fact it's my personal favorite. The people who don't like that album seem to be the same type of people who didn't like With Teeth, so if you enjoyed With Teeth I believe you will really really dig The Fragile.

omg, I had a dream about Year Zero last night! Must have come from listening to In This Twilight right before going to bed. I was with my family and we were running from these government agents. The weird thing was that, in the dream, I recognized all this as part of the Year Zero marketing campaign. But at the same time, it was sort of "really" happening. My family finally escaped from this compound we were in and then when we got outside, I saw THE HAND coming from the sky!!!!! Actually there was like ten of them, all over the place. I got chills down my spine and we started running some more. Then the action sort of turned into a trailer for the album, with Oingo Boingo's "Insanity" playing in the backround. Then I woke up and "Insanity" was playing on my computer, since I left Winamp on all night. Heh, I love when music works its way into your dreams. :D

Wow, beautiful song.

Best of the new bunch, IMO. I can't wait for this record, I almost wish the songs would stop leaking. I can't help myself, but I want something to be new in April.
besides the hollywoodinmemoriam link. Have you seen the other pages listed on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_Zero_(album). its almost like an arg.
Yeah, it is an arg.

I think there's something like 10 websites, 2 numbers plus the images hiding in some of the songs/sounds.

Dear God, yes.

One of his best works.

Wow... I wasn't really impressed the first time I listened, but after a few goes, it kicks all sorts of ass.

This coming from someone who only recently got into NIN and hasn't listened to the Fragile. And if you read the post I think you could infer that I am a fan of NIN with the Fragile being my favorite. I have all the albums, I've had his DVD's. I've only got to see him twice though. Pick up more of his work, once you listen to his other stuff and compare it to With Teeth, you'll see that the last album was not up to par with his older works.

I've only heard Survivalism so far, but I'm into it way more than than whatever the first single was out for with teeth. Doesn't seem to be as repetative either.

Am I the only one that feels that the 'Downward Spiral' flat out sucked ass? I just couldent get into it at all and dont see how it can be considered a classic by so many people, but whatever...

This is where we disagree!

Which albums do you prefer?

Downward Spiral is farking genius

if you don't like that i'm not sure how you can be a NIN fan.... ? ? ?

i finally (just now) got to hear the full length new release

no opinion yet though

i don't hate it or love it, i'm still making up my mind

it's noisy though!!!

That video shows nekkid boobers and manlove... I don't think it'll be on MTV anytime soon.

...why the man love?

...why the man love?
Why not?

I think the moral of the story is that rock stars are the real criminals. Not the gays.

But it doesn't really clear things up about gay rock stars. :whistle2:k

Why not more boobies?

I'm really looking forward to this album. If Survivalism is any indication of the whole album, it's got a great angry, aggressive feel. Potentially my new fave since Broken.

With Teeth was dissapointing, but not without some bright spots. I did enjoy the fact that he didn't make it a concept album, I'm actually getting burnt out on TOOL now (never thought that'd happen).

Just got back from the one in Austin. The new album sounds great. They showed a collection of clips of NIN through the years and then Year Zero. There was also a nice mini poster but they made you pre-order the disc to get it.

I'm guessing they played Collected before hand?

It chronicles Nine Inch Nails up to With Teeth (The Hand That Feeds) and is about 15 minutes long.

That's what I thought too, but it was an updated version. Collected ends with The Hand That Feeds but this version goes on to show Only, Beside You in Time, Survivalism, and then 2007 - Year Zero - 04/17/07. It ended with a picture of a wall with a resistance flag spray painted on it. It stayed up the whole time the album was previewed.

I'll never really understand the consensus dislike/disappointment towards With Teeth. It's probably my third favorite in the discography, and I can listen to it all the way through, wherever, whenever. Not every track is exactly 'brilliant', but then again neither is everything on The Fragile, the de facto choice of 'serious' NIN fans.

And that's something I'll never get, either, as while that album's got some great tracks on it, it's yet another entry in the file of "Meandering Double-Albums That Could Have and SHOULD HAVE Been Pared Down to a Single One". I say that because I mean it and because this commonly happens to overly ambitious bands who have earned the right to make that 'misstep', not because I'm here to incite, to get quoted and violently refuted.

Besides, roughly one out of three people posting in this thread are on my Ignore List, so unless someone is willing to quote their quote of me....
The whole album has leaked.

I'm on Vessel right now and it's amazing.
Its probably the one that was put up on Oink early this morning. On some of the files, are there tags where the songs where found? Is track 2 192k?

Yeah.

It was taken down because track 2 was still the radio rip (the ripper didn't rip it because it was watermarked)

Capitial G is just wow

listening to the stream right now. just hit the good soldier and holy HELL this is great.

edit: and literally as i posted this, it got to the "cold metal in my hand" line.
