Just like what Atlus is doing to Demons Souls. Including the guide is just awesome. I am in for one :)

EDIT: The box looks pretty sick too. Also added the soundtrack.

Its just color!

You guys are whining over such a little thing. I remember when Samurai Showdown 2 came out. SNK had to change the blood to milk

I thought that looked stupid too. :)

Well I don't like the purple mist, but if they'll perfect the game, that's what matters. NG2 was buggy as all get out but it's been my favorite single player game this gen.

NGS was pretty good, but NGB edged it out IMO.
No blood = no upgrade from the 360 version!
So, with all of the extra features and playable characters they implement on NGS2, the thing that makes it a "no upgrade" is the lack of gore? Btw, there's still blood in the game... just not much of it.

Mostly, I think people feel it's a wash. I find it pointless to argue too much for either side.

Someone could say to himself, "Oh, I'm getting extras, BUT I'm losing something from the original? I've already played this game, so I really don't need to take a second look at it."

Or, "NG is known for its bloody gameplay, so I'm frustrated this version doesn't have it." The NES games had no gore, but the designers of the first XBOX game, and gamers' opinion of acceptable levels of violence changed everything. Now, people have different and certain expectations from new NG games or remakes.

Other people will not give a damn, buy the game and enjoy every minute of it.

Personally, I already own the original (very important point for me) and think Tecmo is dumb to cut back on the gore without an optional toggle, so I might buy this at $20 and under.

While the Xbox Ninja Gaiden is the only game I've ever played that caused me to break a controller, it was still very rewarding to finish. The fact that you actually get to play as Ayane in NGS2 is reason enough for me to get it, and this collector's edition has some pretty nice stuff for $10 extra over the standard version. Count me in.

Purple mist or Red blood doesn't change the gameplay in my eyes.

I think it's a silly change but it will not stop me from enjoying the game any less than if it were red blood.

I received a shipping notification this morning.at 9:30 CDT

My order was originally placed July 9.

Still waiting for the bonus Ryu costume code.

I received my shipping info but it won't go out until later today (as is the case with UPS).

Oh well, no big deal since I'm to busy to dedicate any time to this game at the moment.

quick question: is the gore present in the 360 version? no way am i gonna get this for ps3 if it doesnt have gore.

was NGsigma1 also gimped when they ported it to the ps3

Gore is not in, its weird at first but you quckly get used to it. Sigma 1 didnt have as much blood to begin with. Also does anyone know if this is ready in store today or tomorrow?

Yeah, I just called the store and they said they had it, so I'm gonna go pick my copy up soon. The guy did ask me if I had reserved it, so I don't know if they only got in a limited number of copies or not, but needless to say if you didn't pre-order you should definitely call first.
i wonder if there's any chance of me getting the pre-order bonus if i order it today?
There's always a chance. I got one of the codes when I picked up my CE pre-order a little while ago.

sigma 2, the PS3 version, has had the blood significantly culled back, but added new female characters you can play as, and they are very top heavy. see the review at ps3.ign.com.

just picked mine up, cant wait to play but will have to as the back log and Anti Reg in MUA2 is calling.

outer box is embossed and looks nice, hopefully the items in the box look as good
so im unclear, sigma 1 was not edited/censored but sigma 2 is? if so i'll go for the 360 verison.
Sigma 2 isn't censored, it is just that there isn't as much blood. Blood is still there. It has also been rebalanced for a still hard, but less frustrating experience (no longer exploding shuriken everywhere on Master Ninja), plus there are three new playable characters and online co-op.

Sigma 2 is a bit changed from Ninja Gaiden 2.

Blood toned down. Body parts removed. Purple mist added.
Windmill Shuriken, Incendiary shuriken now gone.
Canon added
Projectile UT's gone.
Bow has unlimited ammo and is always on
Three female characters one mission each
Mission mode (can play as female characters) Multiplayer
Less enemies at one time
Enemies have more health and at sometimes can feel like punching bags. Some later difficulties can take a few Izuna Drops to kill enemy
New weapon Emna Fang
New Bosses
No new game+
Chapter select now available
More steady framerate
Costumes are unlockable
Projectile Spam reduced

I think I got most of it.

LOL. Those massive exploding shurikens and rocket launchers were seriously frustrating on the 2nd hardest difficulty. I couldn't even get to the master ninja difficulty. Hopefully, I can get there in this Simga version as I played the demo and was able to beat the master ninja difficulty. The rebalance makes the game feel more inline with Black/Sigma 1 now, which I think is a good thing.

One more I think, wolfs no longer throw their peers body parts at you... according to the demo.

Have to admit, Itagaki's 360 version certainly have style, but this version seems more true to traditional Gaiden.

Yes Yes How could I forget that one:lol: That was one of the worst parts to me. I hated being hit with body parts from an off-screen wolf. I would lose a chunk of life from those attacks. I thought that was extremely unnecessary. Every enemy did not need projectile attacks.

bazookas from level 8 were insane in the 360 version, i was stuck on the beginning of that level for like 3 days, after that the game was a breeze. Cant wait to play sigma 2 for the co-op.

Just thought of another one. You can now walk and shoot arrows. Again based on the demo.

got the game had to call about 10 different gamestops to get the preorder most didnt have any so I found one that was 40 min round trip but it seems worth it. Got collecters edition. Live in San Diego, CA

Got my CE today, nice packaging. I would've like some behind the scenes DVD like the last NGS CE, but over all im quite happy with the prchase, looks nice next to my NGS1 CE. In case anyone wants to see what it comes with here are some pics.

Take your game and receipt to another store. They'll likely give you a code if they have any.
IS this game out, I haven't gotten a call from gamestop, like they usually do.
Call the store from where you pre-ordered and ask.
Call the store from where you pre-ordered and ask.
yeah do that ^^, I did not get a call either but I did get an email so I went and picked it up despite no call.

the only thing that blows is that the outer box that holds everythingis actually a box not a slipcover. So untili beat the game the dreamcast is gonna serve as a NGS2 disc holder.

yeah i noticed that and hate it as well, i feel bad having to bend the flap to get it out most of the time since the edges seem to catch the bottom and top flap.

Doesnt the Dreamcast have one of those snappy ball bearing holders for the discs? be careful

So, in a rare move, I think I'm gonna jump on this, namely because it looks like it may be quite rare like original Sigma LE and also because I'm a wuss and I'm really tempted by a lower difficulty.

I have a sealed version of 2 from a Target clearance and was going to trade it in with 3 others for bonus credit from GS.

I felt like I should ask if it is really necessary to keep both versions. For the most part, it sounds like Sigma 2 is a total improvement. The missing blood made a bit weary though and I wanted to know if there were any significant changes that weren't for the better.

I'm a Gaiden fan but only casually. I've had Gaiden 2 on my shelf for a year unopened and don't multiple versions of any other game.
