All the Psikyo City Connection shoot-em-ups are back to their all time lows of 50% off (second time they've hit this mark). I just picked up GUNBIRD2 and DragonBlaze. Recently I've been playing ESP Ra De and Danmaku Unlimited 3 on my Switch, so these two games are hitting the spot! Super fun, great graphics, music and gameplay.

GUNBIRD2 $3.99

DragonBlaze $3.99

You can pick up other amazing shmups like the Strikers 1945 series, Tengai, Zero Gunner 2, Samurai Aces and more till the sale ends on October 9.

Not the best deal ever, but Paper Mario TTND & Luigi's Mansion 2 HD are $39.99 each used on Gamefly. Total for me after tax and shipping was $91.95. Locally for new copies at walmart it would have been $132 ($60 + $60 + $12 tax). I take this as a compromised win to save $40 and not have to fight tracking these down later as they will probably only go $5 cheaper used and new copies will probably only get to $40 outside of YMMV store liquidations. So, I'm fairly happy here... even though technically I could have just played the GC version of PM:TTND and the 3DS version of LM2 since I still own them (though now I probably can consider adding them to my sale pile).

I don't think paper Mario goes for that much anymore due to the new version and other variables. Still goes for more than it cost new originally for a used copy.

I checked for non players choice version completed sales with all inserts and everything and it goes for just over $60 but less than $70. I think after ebay & paypal fees it would be under retail but still more than enough to dump it if it's just a shelf decoration for me going forward.

Yeah that's what I figured. And that's only if it sells at those prices.
I rebought a cib copy of that and pokemon xd gale of darkness for example and paid I want to say under 50 for pm and 57 for pokemon before my coupon and tax.

Eventually I will move all my gen 3 mons downstream. As thats been a work in progress for a while. I already got all emerald sapphire and fire red mons to pearl. Just needs my colosseum and gale of darkness mons. Though it will kill me to move shadow lugia and the other shadows given lugia cannot retain it appearance sadly.

Monopoly for the NES is the best video game adaptation yet. The gameplay is quick and the sounds are iconic. I just bought the cartridge and a kinda crappy Retron HD for a total of $37. WORTH IT
Great Job Reaction GIF

A handful of games have hit new all-time lows. I don't own any of them, but if any of you have played them, please chime in!

These first three run till 10-13.

Cursed To Golf. $4.99. Side-scrolling golf game.

Source of Madness. $4.99. Dark, surreal rogue like.

Paper Cut Mansion. $2.99. Rogue like horror.

The rest are all $1.99 and run until 10-10 (except "Milk", that one ends on the 24th)

Homebody. Survival horror/puzzle.

Highwater. Post-apocalyptic turn based strategy.

Monomals. Music-based platformer.

Fistifluffs. Physics-based party game w/ cats.

Kwaidan - Azuma Manor Story. Survival horror/point and click.

Milk Inside a Bag of Milk Inside a Bag of Milk . . . surreal visual novel/adventure.

I've been waiting for a super cheap price for Kwaidan ~Azuma manor story~, as the game looks a bit jank, but for that low price I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks for pointing it out.

I picked up Monomals for my son and he said he really liked it. He was really enjoying the simple music creator.
I also bought him Castle on the Coast for $2.

I've played a little of Source of Madness on Steam Deck. I enjoyed what I tried. Its a rogue like. It has a very neat art style. I got it in a bundle.

I have Cursed to Golf and Paper Cut Mansion in my Xbox backlog. Both are supposed to be good games but I haven't played either yet.

Highwater looks like something I would like. I may pick that up for $2.

FYI Nintendo alarmo isn't limited time. It's coming to retailers next year. It's only limited if you want it now through Nintendo new york store or Nintendo online.20241009_084136.png

Nintendo could do this for any household item I imagine. Why not make a Nintendo smart toaster or smart lamp next? Maybe a Nintendo door alarm bell? Mario Microwave? Nintendo garage door?

Maybe I’m an old fart, but I’d much rather have old 8-bit or 16-bit Nintendo music and sounds waking me up. Ring Fit Adventure is great but I’ve never once thought that I needed the annoying ring creature yapping at me from an alarm clock.

And I’m such a hard sleeper I would just sleep through all of these sounds. The only thing that wakes me up are those old-timey alarm clocks with the little hammer that knocks two bells around and sounds like a fire alarm lol.

Cute for what it is though. Give me a Nintendo rice cooker or microwave next.

Ya it's crazy how easily they could have made the alarm clock more appealing. If the sound it plays is a Mario coin then each day we use it give us one nintendo coin or something to make it worth the purchase.

Alarmo is kind of cool but not $99.99 cool. Especially without any Xenoblade Chronicles and limited to the specific games it is. They should have some based on the classic versions of Nintendo games up through the current stuff. Like, I think the song that plays when you belly slide down the frozen paths in Mario 64 ... I could wake up to that. I think I'll just stick with the alarm built into my iphone. The video also didn't show to what degree alarms could be programmed. I have alarms for weekdays and then on the weekend sometimes I have an alarm, sometimes I don't. I use alarms for a lot of other things including simple reminders. This seems too basic as a replacement for any of them.

I knew signups would go fast but I really wasn't expecting it to be "one refresh and they're gone" fast.

I was one click away from getting registered but when I clicked to finish it told me they met the amount of people needed.

Really curious to what this could be and hoping it turns out to be something cool they are adding.

This is Nintendo's response to the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Disc Drive edition hysteria I guess. Nintendo will probably announce DLC expansions for the Alarm clock and sell a piece of hardware that can accept Amiibo inputs. However that extra hardware is exclusive to ebay scalpers. Nintendo may even join the scalpers and get an extra cut from them by agreeing to make direct purchases impossible outside of ebay.

What's funny is they've already announced dlc, albeit it's free

While I like Fzero, the rubberband AI always tends to bring down the single player experience for me.

Here we are laughing about Alarmo but Nintendo has the last laugh. It sold out in Japan and at Nintendo NY.

I was telling my youngest son (20) about Alarmo last night and he mentioned how hard of a time he has in getting up from his alarm on his phone (he's on Android). Like he's saying his phone will tell him he missed like 10+ alarms 😱. My iphone alarm never fails to get me within seconds of it going off... though I do get to bed at a pretty reasonable hour.

So... despite this thing not making sense for myself I realize this might be perfect for him and this morning I ended up just ordering one of these. I figure it can sit in his bedroom and maybe it'll nag him enough to get his rear out of bed. Not sure if I'll wait for Christmas or declare this an early Christmas present or if I just tell him it's on loan. We'll see. 😂

Yeah I doubt it will help the young ones. My oldest daughter (15) was great about getting up for school until this year. She still goes to sleep at a reasonable hour but she just cannot get up. She sleeps through multiple alarms on her phone. I have to wake her up every morning now.

I wish there was a defined age where this started with my boys. It has been a few years though since I've needed to really wake anyone up besides myself. IF this helps my son, I'll consider it a win. If not, the retail release is early 2025 and it'll likely sell out from the nintendo online store and I can either just keep it for myself (at 50yo, for some reason I do like clocks and radios... and small electronics) or I can probably flip it to ebay where completed listings show around $185 on average with shipping.

On a side note, right now I'm feeling the end of daylight savings each morning when I wake up. It's hard when it's still pitch black at 6am. I'm looking forward to it ending November 3rd even though it screws up doing anything outside after work & dinner.
