Time to complain about microSD express card prices. The 256GB Lexar one jumped in price by $10. Will wait for a future deal on a larger one.

Man, the more I see the completely red Switch 2 cases, the more I don't like them. I know they want to make it obvious to people that Switch 2 games shouldn't work on Switch 1, because people are stupid, but I think they could've used the same clear cases with the red banner at the top. It's just so much red.

I had the worst time trying to get a Switch 2 last night waiting in line at Best Buy with no luck and Walmart would not let me check out. I wasn't even going to bother with Target but I tried when CAG posted a "second batch" and got MK Bundle pretty easily. Probably from all the cancellations they were dishing out. Happy to get one and will see if I get a invite from Nintendo to buy one.

I would say the process went similar to how preordering the PS5 was back in 2020. Just endless clicking and refreshing each step of the way due to servers timing out. I wish these companies could somehow organize this process better but it is what it is. Thankfully, I was able to get mine at Target with a backup ordered at Best Buy for my nephews if it comes through. Walmart was endless errors trying to click the preorder button. I don't understand how some were able to have success at Walmart but I guess it's a YMMV situation.

I started refreshing Walmart, Target and Best Buy five minutes early last night and I was surprised when I got put into a queue on Walmart a couple minutes before 9:00, and fortunately I got in right before Wario's tweet about. Queue went smooth and I had no trouble getting my Mario Kart Bundle order in, and they're saying it'll be delivered before 9 am on 6/5. Target kept giving me address issues, and I honestly don't mind since I don't plan to order any more electronics shipped from Target after a Fedex theft issue recently if I can help it. Best Buy didn't go live for me until after I got the Walmart order in and I was considering switching to them for store pickup, but decided against it. Hopefully no issues with Walmart

My bank flagged the transaction, so I think I was on the last chance to get the pre-order through before Best Buy would've cancelled it after calling the bank to un it where I pre-ordered the Pro Controller 2 to test it out and finally confirming my Switch 2 pre-order that felt like the opening of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

yeah their overpriced accessories really are something. plus now it's even crazier.

I try hard to never buy any of that stuff until a limited edition controller comes out. You can always sell those off later for full value plus. That way you have no ragrets.

The box comes with everything you need anyways. Anything else besides +1 Pro controller is a completely unnecessary luxury. you really don't need any of it.

I still have my whole fleet of wavebird controllers and the converter to use them on WiiU/Switch and it is supposed to work on Switch 2. Just going to stick with wavebirds and not bother buying the new controller.

I ended up missing the boat on preordering. I guess it's waiting on Nintendo to send invites now. I would have given BB a try but they sold out.

Rather, compare premium aftermarket controller costs with first party. Items from 8bitdo are really well done, such as the 8bitdo Ultimate, which includes a charging dock and carry case, for $55 right now.

Which would be $30 in 2002 money, mind you. And it's quite more capable than the Wavebird.

oh, i thought he was saying hamburger and apples were more expensive now too. but im sure there haven't been any technological advances in apple planting and harvesting or beef producers in the last 20 years that should have lead to lower prices today...

the point being technological advances usually mean more profits not lower prices.

I'm probably in the minority but I think the original wavebird was trash and overrated. It was during a time when wireless technology was still new to controllers. I had tons of interference issues with my 2 wavebirds. I don't really think they can be compared to modern controllers which use MUCH better technology.

You're paying for the Nintendo tax, as always. I'd not buy it on that principle alone now we've got third party controllers that are arguably better and more cost effective than first party.

Does anyone know if the Switch 2 is continuing the home switch and then a secondary Switch for families?

It is crucial that the current Switch setup will still work on the Switch 2 as it allows my entire digital collection of games to be played on both switches (my son and I) at the same time. Example as for the past few years we both play brand new digital releases of games at the same time. I had set my account up on both switches and then my son added his account the home system which allows him to play my entire collection. The second switch system which I use is then always checked to make sure I own the digital game thus letting me play everything as well.

I am hoping this new digital game share thing with family members is them not nuking it. Given how much Nintendo is not making fans happy with a variety of decisions, this would seem like the perfect time to remove this feature to add to the backlash list.

To be clear, buying something of higher value for lower cost is fundamentally the CAG way. Not buying something of lower value, at higher cost, more so when it's obviously nostalgia bait.

That system is only going to remain an option only with original switch. The new system is virtual game cards. So you won't be able to game the system with one copy and playing together. That said, if it's just two systems, you can have the game installed on both systems and have your account on both systems and then eject the virtual game from one system and put it in the other system without needing to redownload do the phone home crap anymore beyond when you insert the virtual game. You won't have to deal with the loaning system and 14 day window since you can have two systems now. Ideally, what I would suggest is one system at a time... install the virtual game card for the games you regularly play and then eject them all. Do the same on system 2. Then you'd just just leave every game ejected except whatever you are playing. That way the other system can just pull from the virtual game card library. So, no playing the same game at the same time from a single purchase. But it still might be a hell of a lot more convenient than never being able to play the secondary stem outside of wifi range without first being in range for the phone home check to make sure the game isn't being played.
