Exactly. Thank you for the non inflammatory reply. Good info in the link. I try to stick the Amazon cables or highly rated stuff.I believe it all started with a Google Engineer buying cheap USB-C cables off Amazon and doing tests on them. He reviews all the cables he's bought on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/amzn1.account.AFLICGQRF6BRJGH2RRD4VGMB47ZA?ie=UTF8&ref_=cm_cr_rdp_pdp_enth. Apparently Amazon started banning low-quality USB-C cables after all this, so I guess as long as something has good reviews, they should be fine. I'm not saying to go out and buy expensive cables, or even Nintendo's official ones, but it's always best do do some research, and not just go for for the cheapest things you find.
Did you play Arms with the motion controls only, or did you get to try both control methods? I'm looking for opinions from those who have tried both, and what the positives/negatives where between the two, and which method was preferred.Someone comes into the Switch forum to be a dick, is called out on needlessly being a dick, and replies with a dickish response? Shocker.
ANYWAY, I forgot to add earlier:
- Snipperclips and ARMS both impressed me a lot. I was already mildly interested in those games just based on impressions, but they are both super fun once you have your hands on them. Nintendo has a knack for making dull looking games that are actually really fun to play.
- 1-2 Switch is weird. HD rumble makes it weirder. I guess that's the joke? It's definitely not worth the retail price. GCU + visa checkout? Maybe. I'm just gonna wait for it to inevitably have some sort of sale so I can have it digitally. Very much seems to be the way to go for a game like that.
Okay good find on the cables. Can I still plug my Switch into a USB iPhone wall charger?Exactly. Thank you for the non inflammatory reply. Good info in the link. I try to stick the Amazon cables or highly rated stuff.

I'm pretty sure you can it's just not going charge as fast. It might not even be able to keep it going while plugged since it's outputting less juice. Several comments ago someone posted the difference in power output from the iPhone wall plug and the actual switch AC plug.Okay good find on the cables. Can I still plug my Switch into a USB iPhone wall charger?
I don't think any preview tour will let you play with the other control method. I was really impressed with the motion controls though. Gripping the joycons like you're making a fist felt really great and the buttons you need are easily accessible. Way better than like Wii boxing lol.Did you play Arms with the motion controls only, or did you get to try both control methods? Nice. This is the one game that my kids are really excited about.I don't think any preview tour will let you play with the other control method. Yeah, I figured just due to the size and tech involved in the joy-cons, it was 100% guaranteed to be better than Wii Boxing. LOLwas it still like Virtual On but worse
Same as Nick. They only showed off motion controls, but they were great. They were very responsive and it was kind of an adjustment turning off Wii Boxing mode in your head where it's just rapid downward jabs, to a more controlled and precise movement. The game isn't anything like real boxing though, that doesn't really seem to be what they're going for at all, and doesn't really require the same movement types. I was originally interested in this as a weird boxing simulator, but now I'm interested in it as a fun unique fighting game.Did you play Arms with the motion controls only, or did you get to try both control methods? Besides the controls being similar to Virtual On, Arms always looked to me anyways, as a cross between Street Fighter and Punch-Out. So yeah, standard boxing never once crossed my mind. And since they fight at a distance during certain parts of the fight, I figured that may have been a design choice to better allow for motion controls.I was originally interested in this as a weird boxing simulator, but now I'm interested in it as a fun unique fighting game.
I also didn't realize until yesterday that the name "ARMS" is a pun, as in weapons. I'm stupid.
OMG, that would be way cool. Sadly, I don't think "N" or Capcom are up to the task.In regards to ARMS, I hope they find a way to have Dhalsim as a guest character.

Don't see why not. They let Nintendo use Mega Man on SSB, and they're putting an exclusive game on the Switch. I could see this happening as well.OMG, that would be way cool. Sadly, I don't think "N" or Capcom are up to the task.
Technically speaking, of course it's not an issue, but Smash is a game with tons of characters from all over the place(the nature of the game). Unless Arms has some hidden characters from other franchises in it, I doubt either side would add Dhalsim as the only outside character for the hell of it, but they could as he would be a perfect fit for the game. Kratos was thrown in Shovel Knight, as he fit in with the game, so I do think Dhalsim could happen, I just don't think it will happen. But I would love to be proven wrong.Don't see why not. Well...I'll think I'll wait for Horizon reviews Monday to determine if I keep my preorder or cancel it for a neon switch later this year.
Like the European press, our embargo says nothing but photos of the unopened box for now. Have to wait until the 23rd to start previews.
Previews that day. Reviews can't be posted until March 1.
It's a good time to own PlayStation and Nintendo devices. Two epic games back to back.Well...
Same thing happened to me as I was going to preorder more Joycons and the charging grip...any suggestions for me and maximumzero? So it looks like the Visa Checkout deal over at Best Buy died when I wasn't paying attention. A shame, too, because I was ready to pre-order practically the entire first party lineup...ah, well.
Any better deals than the standard GCU 20% off at launch or is that more or less it?
I wish I could say the Horizon reviews made it easier. I just read the Game Informer cover on Zelda and BOTW sounds like an even longer game than Horizon. I still don't know what to do.It's a good time to own PlayStation and Nintendo devices. Two epic games back to back.
After the past 3 times when the Visa Checkout promo ended early, there was no reason to wait to pre-order anything. Just have to wait and see if it comes back.Same thing happened to me as I was going to preorder more Joycons and the charging grip...any suggestions for me and maximumzero?
I'm just very glad that Horizon wasn't all smoke and mirrors. I've been incredibly wary about it until now. It's a good time to own PlayStation and Nintendo devices. Two epic games back to back.
Agreed. Hate how I have 3 PSP batteries that ALL swelled up after my move out to Vegas.... popping the battery doors on PSPs. Not looking forward to that day for my Vita, and a few years from now for the switch (which makes me wonder if the switch would work, while docked, without the battery)I like the fact that it isn't that difficult to dismantle the Switch, and I especially like that it is possible to change out the battery, even if that operation requires a certain amount of dissassembly. With portable systems replacing the battery is always an issue where longevity is concerned. I'm still wondering when I will need to try swapping out the battery in my Vita.
If I were you I would keep the Switch (unless you have a Wii U, otherwise you can just play it on that). You can play both of these epic games that way, plus all the Switch games coming out in the next few months. Otherwise you're gonna miss out.I wish I could say the Horizon reviews made it easier. I was optimistic about it, but I'm glad it did turn out as good as people hoped it would. But I understood why others were wary. The Killzone games were good to great, but they were nothing special. I'm glad the developer was able to knock it out of the park with this one.I'm just very glad that Horizon wasn't all smoke and mirrors. I've been incredibly wary about it until now.
I loved all of the Killzone games. Those are the only games I've pretty much finished. I loved the last one and have beat it several times. On the other hand I hate the Uncharted games with a passion. I've been so hyped for Horizon. Can't wait to pre order tomorrow. If I were you I would keep the Switch (unless you have a Wii U, otherwise you can just play it on that). I also think this game is going to do to Guerrilla Games what Uncharted 2 did to Naughty Dog. It's going to make them an A list developer, and Horizon is going to be Sony's next huge franchise.
Looking through their tweets... apparently the BotW amiibo functionality is under embargo as well. HOW IS THIS A THINGYou guys see this? https://twitter.com/nintendoforce/status/833742069659291648
So this part, from Jeff's review on Giant Bomb, is actually what sold me:I was optimistic about it, but I'm glad it did turn out as good as people hoped it would. I was really worried that it would end in a complete non-resolution cliffhanger in an attempt to start a new franchise, like The Order did, which entirely soured me on a game that I had mostly enjoyed up until the very end.By the end, Horizon comes to a satisfying conclusion in a way that left me feeling like they should probably never make a sequel. It's a near-perfect story that creates a world and also provides meaningful answers about said world. Not to soapbox about it, but games don't do that often enough anymore. The events of Horizon have weight and the game feels less like franchise building and more like a cohesive statement.
Also liked The Order. The end didn't sour me, though. I just hope we do get a sequel one day.So this part, from Jeff's review on Giant Bomb, is actually what sold me:

Also, I generally agree with Jeff, at least more than pretty much any other reviewer. Now I'm just waiting on the reports from Digital Foundry, because I have a base PS4 and I'm wondering if they'll let that version chug.
Edit: Oh, the DF analysis is up, and they run pretty much the same, just with different resolutions. Hot dog!
I've dealt with many embargos in the past, and while I do understand the point, with 11 days until release, Nintendo should start posting stuff to keep everyone happy. As of right now, it seems as if the embargo lifts on 3/1, just in time for everyone's stuff to start shipping, which means no chance to cancel if people want to (I do not plan to cancel mine at all, regardless of reviews).Looking through their tweets... apparently the BotW amiibo functionality is under embargo as well. I'm stuck in it and my nintendo ID isn't linked to anything. Not sure if it is the same for everyone but if you are getting the reset password loop when trying to give yourself a Nintendo ID, it is probably because your Nintendo account is linked to your FB or Twitter or something and does not actually have a password yet.
Neither was mine. Did you try re-inputting your password into the boxes? That worked for me.I'm stuck in it and my nintendo ID isn't linked to anything.
What boxes? I don't see the space to do that. All I've got are fields to enter verification codes, I have tried logging in and out.Neither was mine. Did you try re-inputting your password into the boxes? That worked for me.
Yes I was very happy to see it don't appear to be glued in. In fact I'm happy to see that it's such a modular design that even the micro sd slot & game card slot's are replaceable. Appears the flash memory is also on it's own board. The metal shield over the board will add much structural integrity. Nintendo not only designed this to be a sleek adult looking device but a fairly kiddie proof one as well. I'm getting more excited for this thing by the day.I like the fact that it isn't that difficult to dismantle the Switch, and I especially like that it is possible to change out the battery, even if that operation requires a certain amount of dissassembly. Switch is confirmed to use the eShop, so yes. You can probably assume the Switch will share a balance with your 3DS and Wii U, but to be on the safe side I'd wait to redeem that card on the Switch itself.so will 3ds eshop codes worth on switch ....... sitting on like 50 bucks and not really want to tie it to my 3ds if i can use it on switch.. then again i dont think there has been any news on a switch shop
The 10 character or less is just the account nickname, not the actual gamer tag.when i made one it told me 10 characters or less.
Almost everything including iPhone will be going to type C connector. Lg and other phones already have it, the Mac and slot of new tablets. So instead of buying the overpriced NS branded AC adapter, all I need is this cable https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00S8GU2OC/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A1AMUYYA3CT6HJ&psc=1 and an iPhone wall plug right? Looking for another charge option for another room.
