I CAN gripe about judgement's Chance 'cause I got a STUPID Wolfslayer's Claw that he sold week 1. I have 5 weapon core's then. I could have bought 5. Everyone else has 2 Shadow of Veil's (beast arc sniper), or get's helmet or leg armor & I get kinetic weapons. GRRRRR.
My first 5 all I got were weapons, and not even good ones at that (I have not gotten the sniper which sounds like the only good one to be honest). I got two of the rocket launchers and they are Void with no tracking and one has bonus damage to dregs and the other to shanks. No thanks. Then I've gotten the hand cannon, pulse rifle, and one more I can't even remember.
FINALLY on my 6th Judgment's Chance attempt I got some armor but it was the gloves he sold week. Granted, they came with a Discipline roll and critical hit perks which are better than Variks stock from last week. But still - would have preferred any other armor piece to that. I passed entirely on the chest pieces this week and used my armor cores for the Chance's in the hope that I might get a better chest piece or at least one of the other armors. I didn't and ended up having to ascend VoG and Crota gear on both my Titan and Hunter to get them to 34.
So it seems the Queen's Cipher comes pretty quickly to most people. Do we know if it drops any easier from higher-level chests? I might be doing an extra 35 (I know, crazy, right?) and would run my Titan then so I could try opening the 35 chest a second time this week (but first after getting the bounty). The problem was that we ran two Titans through when we beat it the first time. Then the second time we did it with one. So for our third run we have no one with a Titan. That Weapons of Light bubble is CRITICAL for Skolas this week. I'm not sure you could do it without it. Both the protection (of standing beside it and retreating in when reloading, not to mention blinding the first set of adds that come out that door) and the boost to your sniper attack are very important. So we might have to run it two more times to get everyone their third clear (guy who didn't use Titan runs that the first time and gets two of us a clear, then we run our Titans again the second time to get him his Warlock's clear).
The good news is that we have the entire 35 down to an hour and a half and we might as well get it done because we have no idea how hard it might end up being next week. Sure, it might be Void, but then again it could be something completely different. I also have a Void Efrideet's Spear but it doesn't have either Final Round or Field Scout so I might have to re-roll it like I did with my similar Arc Efrideet. Actually, I re-rolled a third solar one (with the default perks) that I picked up during IB a couple times ago and kept my other Arc one in case I had bad luck with the roll. I'm so glad I got 3 of those now - it helped me tremendously this week with Skolas. The good news is that I didn't even have to ascend it (I brought an etheric light just in case it was necessary). We cut it close both times and probably with it ascended it might have gone a little smoother - but considering it only took 3-4 attempts on both runs that isn't bad. We tried at least 50 times over the two previous nights.

Seems like there are a ton of people posting on LFG at Skolas looking for people to do the Arc Sniper strategy. Will 3 people using Patience and Time work to beat Skolas? I'd rather use my arc Efredeet's Spear anyways so I can use Thunderlord if it comes to that.
No, P&T on all three will not work. When we were running it and failing the night before, we had two guys with P&T and me with my Efrideet's Spear. P&T doesn't stagger him well enough and also doesn't do as much damage. It didn't help that one guy didn't have his maxed (WTF - the guy has 1200 hours into the game - d'oh!).
When we did it with ease the one guy had his P&T maxed plus he picked up a vendor sniper to use. I'm not sure which one he actually went with. The other guy also had a re-rolled vendor sniper. Though neither of them was doing the 8500/11,500 damage (regular head shot/final round head shot) that I was doing. So you can probably do it if just one guy has the really good sniper and can hit most of his shots. I missed probably 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 5 and still got it done.
Hmmmm - I wonder if I could just get my clear via LFG and then just be able to help my friends get theirs. I would love to just be able to jump in at the end on Skolas and not do the whole thing again. Are people on LFG just looking for people at that point? Without there being checkpoints you could save I wasn't sure if that would be a thing you could do. The problem is my character that needs it is my Hunter and yet I'm the DPS guy for Skolas - so I can't really run off and do mines. If you get lucky and 'A' is the one right next to you it can be pretty easy though.
By the way, our strategy this week on 35 has been to run three Titans through the first 5 rounds, then switch out what we need for Skolas. With 3 Titans each specced to the different bubble types most of the rounds are super easy. We make orbs for each other and nearly instantly regen our supers. The only tricky one is the Arc damage Cabal one with the mine dismantling. We try to get to the points and pop bubbles there. The hard part there are the Psions arc-based ground attack which can rip through a bubble.
I figure I just better do all 3 35's this week even if it means having to run it two more times for the last clear because they may patch a couple of things: 1) Skolas going down so quick. I could see them making him immune during the mine phase or something. 2) Being able to join while on the death screen before the final round.
