So the Mover's Coupon does not have a fine print exclusion list on it?  Every other Best Buy coupon I have ever seen has had an exclusion list in fine print printed on it.

Disagree with you there. Ignorance isn't an excuse to do it. It's not the morality police stance here whether you should or shouldn't do it. It's that don't think it's not stealing just because somebody on the phone didn't know the rules. You can still steal something while somebody is ignorant of the policy. They are not mutually exclusive.

When you purchase an item with that coupon and it works, then purchase another item with the same type of coupon and it doesn't work, then call to ask why and they offer you a $50 gift card, wtf are you supposed to say? No thanks?

I guess next time I get an offer, I will read through the fine print before I attempt to use it. And if for some reason, by the grace of God, I receive anything for free, I will make sure to not mention it here and cause an uproar amongst the Cheap Ass Gamer community.

You guys are right though.

I am a horrible human being. I will refrain from accepting things offered to me for free. Hopefully I don't get hit with a lightning bolt when I leave my office today.

I had it listed on here for a while, but no takers. Just a few negative posts saying I am overpriced, blah blah etc. So I resorted to eBay. Some kid bought it RIGHT before Sony dropped the price a couple weeks ago. I am sure he was pissed lol.

Ok, well, you're not being completely honest. Found your ebay page since you use the same screen name. You accepted less than $350, so we'll never know what you really got for it. But after fees and shipipng it was for sure less than $340 .But ok.

I never said you shouldn't take something if it was given for free.  The point I made which was pretty clear was that you can still steal something and having an ignorant employee can both be equally true. 

As for the specific mover's coupon, yes it has worked on consoles in the past.  It no longer does.  I figured that out myself when I bought my Xbone from Best Buy earlier this year and then tried using another one to preorder the Halo console a few weeks ago.  Problem was that the coupon didn't work the second time around for me.  So I figured Best Buy decided to nerf the coupon by excluding consoles (it started happening sometime this summer).  I didn't bother calling because I already knew my answer. 

Also I find it amusing when people play the defense card when the situation is pretty easy to figure out.  I can play the same card by doing something similar and just call out everybody as a white knight too just because it's convenient when they disagree with me.  Cute.

I asked in store why it did not work, and no employee had an answer for me. In fact, they said it should work then were befuddled when it didn't. I called and asked, and then was offered a $50 gift card. Now, if they really cared and were adamant about it not working, the representative on the phone would have said something like "Those coupons no longer work on video game consoles" or something of that sort.

When I purchased my TV, the in store associate explained to me exactly why it worked. I did not argue or dispute the fact because they did explain to me the exact reason.

Ok, I hear ya but that still doesn't change the fact they were just ignorant about how it worked. My example illustrated that you were in the exact same position as I was. It worked before. Now it doesn't. Corporate nerfed the coupon. Exclusions get added while things change. Happens all the time. But I figured that the minute the coupon didn't apply.

To show you I'm not trying to be a jerk to you as a tip, next time have them (the associate) call the "bridge" help desk. They have the power similar to the back office in that they may be able to help with your POS issues on the spot.

Certain TV's will still apply the coupon properly but it depends on which make and model I believe.

Yea. That coupon only applies to low end TV models, like Insignia etc. The one I got was an LG.

 
I think it's just funny that a dude mocked a buyer who overpaid on ebay for a his PS4 and said that guy is probably going to be pissed, then posted the buyers paypal contact information lol

I haven't received my disk yet. Maybe it'll be in my mailbox when I get home, but I have not yet seen a shipping notification or anything for it. I called and talked with them last week on Wednesday.

There sort of is. The PS4 edition has the code in the box and a PS4 branded slip cover. The Xbox One edition gets a printed code on your receipt, and no slip-cover for the box. My GS had both on the shelf behind them, and quite a few of both.

I find it funnier that you said that despite being the one who keeps perpetuating things instead of just letting it go. Hell the previous page had like almost 10 posts from you alone trying to argue with others that you're just a lost babe in the woods completely innocent because "they offered me the gift card gee golly whizz fellas what was I supposed to do?" Despite the fact you knew it didn't work on consoles but still brought it up to them and found a sucker who didn't know any better and gave you free money when you knew you weren't entitled to it. Not knowing it didn't work and getting a gift card is one thing, but knowing and still trying is something else.

Man I hadn't see anyone alter context and re-represent facts in order to justify their actions/beliefs since I saw creationists argue with Bill the science guy.

It appears that you knew it would work and yet called to see what happens, which is what everyone was basing their arguments on. I can't testify for or against anyone's reading comprehension, but you were not clear about your motives. So...its sorta your fault you got into the argument, though I understand that typed text can easily be misinterpreted.

Instead of letting this go on, may be everyone can let it be and move on? Just saying...
