LE comes with 2 mini lithos and a signed individually numbered card from Amano. I know The Sky first print was only 1000 copies and a lot of people missed out on it, so this might be the same limited number.

I feel like this was announced forever ago and I want to say it was on Kickstarter or Indiegogo. Instead of a fighting game, this one is a beat-em-up.

It looks much better than the original Shaq-Fu, but that doesn't say much.

My main question, how rare will this game be? I want it mainly for the Meme potential. But I also don't expect to see this game on ANY store shelves. As of right now I only see listings on Gamestop and Amazon (No Best Buy), with it being $30 on PS4/Xbone and $40 on Switch

No way anyone buys this outside of memers and collectors so i would think it would be pretty rare tbh

It's listed on Target.com. Plenty of people will buy it just for the connection to Shaq and the nostalgia for the game that inspired it. It's not gonna be rare.

I doubt it will be rare and I also doubt that it will sell all that great, but bojay isn't wrong. A lot of people will buy this game because of Shaq, not nearly as many that bought the original Shaq-Fu, but it will do alright. I personally don't think this new game looks all that bad and it could be a fun beat-em-up. I'm going to reserve my judgement until it comes out and I know my brother is getting it because he is a huge Shaq fan and will buy it based on that fact alone.

Is there some reason you keep making these rarity declarations without any information to base them on? We don't even know if this will be a widely available CE or something that's exclusive to a particular retailer or web store. We also don't have any idea of the print run yet. It sure doesn't look like there is anything in there that would limit the number that could reasonably be produced given the contents.

Who knows, maybe it will be maybe it won't be. Cool stuff like this seems like it has sold out quickly in the past so I was making a supposition. I'm so sorry I offended your sensibilities with my excitement over a CE for a game I've been waiting for. Next time I'll assume it's a run of the mill, dime a dozen, Ubisoft-tier item and not worry about getting one early.

If this was a one-off or you were just expressing excitement, I wouldn't have mentioned it. Of course, just one page back you were hyping the potential rarity of Shaq-Fu. I mean it's literally as if you don't understand what "rare" means.

I personally haven't found a lot of the Switch CEs to be hard to get a hold of. I just saw copies of both Fire Emblem Warriors and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as recently as a few days ago. 

I didn't really get into the Octopath Traveler demo when I played it, but I want to give it another go as I love the look of the game and the CE looks fantastic, that pop-up more than sells me on it. 

 
I can actually see the Project Octopath CE being a bit hard to get after a while.  I figure its a new IP so they likely won't make as many of them as say a Zelda or Mario game.  I think it will probably be pretty similar to the Bravely Default CE as far as rarity and ease of purchase.

 
IMO the Octopath CE is kinda meh. I don't recall any Wii U CEs being incredibly rare. I had Tokyo Mirage CE and was able to sell it for cost after I ditched the system. Octopath is hopefully a great JRPG but usually rare is more a function of demand/supply which happens when big new IPs get a CE that is underproduced like Witcher, Horizon, etc. and I don't expect Octopath to be that big.

Don't forget about the Bayonetta 2 and Mario Kart 8 CEs...still super salty about those. You're right though, I doubt demand is going to be that high for it so I'm sure it won't be that hard to get.

Edit: Or the BotW Master Edition for that matter.

I agree. I had been expecting Switch CE's to be like they were with the previous Nintendo CE's, but so far they are readily available. If this ends up being exclusive to the SE store, which is likely, then there is some potential for it being limited. Look at the physical copy of Lost Sphear for Switch as an example (and that wasn't even a CE).

My take is, if you want it, order it right away. It might be available for preorder for a little while, but I wouldn't expect there to be excess stock like with the Xeno or Fire Emblem CE's. Play it safe, CE-loving brothers and sisters!!

Just left GameStop and they have it in the system but are not taking orders yet. They took a preorder on the standard edition for me and will change it over when it goes live.

I believe they can choose not to do it on CE. Preodered with the intention of cancelling if I can grab at BB.

Officially, no, but they’ve allowed it sometimes, probably due to not categorizing the CE correctly.

That is my philosophy as well. If you want it, get it. It's a CE and will definitely not get cheaper the longer you wait.

It's that Switch tax! I agree though $100 is steep for what you get, I really only care about that pop-up book too, currently more interested in that than the actual game.

It actually lasted a couple of hours, which is an improvement over, say, the BOTW Master Edition, which lasted all of 6 minutes at Amazon from what I could see.

I'd expect to see this up at GS and probably BB as well soon.
