As someone who tried to buy the jak and daxter CE by itself I can unfortunately say it didn't last an hour. I saw it on the playstation blog and went there so I had to wait for batch two. Which was twice as expensive just to get an order in. Under a minute because I was refreshing. That's part of the reason I'm peeved. I don't want to do this every time. However I will stop ranting about their business practices now and let the thread move on. Sorry everyone 😟

I was able to add all three console versions to cart; I didn't check out, because I can't justify the price on this pitiful excuse for a special. I was willing to pay for the CEs for ToS, ToX, ToX2, and ToB, and this game is arguably better then any of those. But I just couldn't pull the trigger on this one.

It's definitely not as good as the EU CE so I do feel a little sleighted, but I love the game and the steelbook + bonus content is enough to justify it for me.

Not even a steelbook, it's a metal pak. Which I find the worst of the bunch, dent easiest and have the cheapest hinges. I like ironpack better than metal paks, they feel sturdier and look better.

 
i'm definitely skipping this Tales CE this time around. It is so lackluster that it doesn't even make the $99 worth the hours I have to put in for work.

 
Sold most of m PS3 CE's just not worth keeping sealed and the contents weren't great. I think I kept Phanta CE tho.

 
The only sealed CE I still have is the Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth 1 LE for Vita. Not even really sure what to do with it at this point as the value is so ridiculously inflated on Ebay last I checked.

Kinda scared of trying to sell it on Ebay tbh. Not sure what the proper process of making it least likely for a buyer to try to screw me would be. Insurance+Only selling to longterm buyers?

Yes, I believe this was only available at their web store. Since its listed as an "Anniversary Bundle" I'm wondering if its just the standard version of the game with separate bundled CE components (and not all in one package).

Anything over $250 (I think, or was it $150?) you need to get signature confirmation if you accept Paypal. There's nothing that allows you to only accept bids for "x" type of buyer.. you can only block a very small handful of buyers with eBay's options.

Insurance will ensure that carrier is more careful because they know they have to potentially pay out the claimed value. But FYI, insurance won't cover jack shit on items like this... the carrier will argue the "value" of the item and likely only pay you MSRP in most cases.

This is true, most people who pay this much for stuff are collectors and most of them aren't fraudsters. Just make sure you take lots of detailed pics of the item before shipment and that you pack it safely (maybe even double box it).

Signature confirmation is total BS, I’ve seen “my signature” on packages that were never even delivered to the right address, just left on incorrect doorstops several streets down.

That's not the point. The point is that signature confirmation better protects you as a seller, which is the discussion here.

Buyers have no shortage of protection.

How does it protect you? The delivery guy “signs” it. The buyer never saw it. You get no protection for your money.

It's part of eBay's and PayPal's seller protection. I had a delivery disputed by a buyer and PayPal backed me even after a chargeback because I had delivery and signature confirmation.

Shit man, sorry- I mean to say "aren't fraudsters". I've sold a few expensive games (nothing worth what you have a few in the $200-300 range) and electronics (projectors, speakers) and I've never had issues with games. But electronics, I had multiple sales to drop shippers which are crazy shady.

You're gonna freak though when you see the fees though... eBay takes 10%, Paypal takes another ~3%.

Yeah the fees are what really kill you, if you can sell locally it's a better bet but some stuff just isn't feasible to find a buyer in any reasonable fashion
 
Having the delivery guy be the one who signs it would kinda defeat the purpose of signature confirmation. That's like a store employee signing your credit card receipt for you.

 
13% is still less than Amazon, and less than any pawn shop or auction service, so...

Rarely, eBay has promos that cap how much they take. Like a month or two ago, I had a promo for maximum $10 in fees per item. Ended up being like 2% for my item, would be closer to 1% for yours.

Actually this does happen. Most of my package that require signatures are signed by the UPS or Fedex driver and then left on my door. Thankfully they don't steal it but I've had expensive items just signed by them and left without me knowing until I get a notification saying delivered.

 
Amazon really is absolutely brutal with how much they take for certain things. After fees and shipping it can be hard to turn any type of profit at all.

that's not signature confirmation.

 
You don't need any kind of signature confirmation for seller protection on eBay. The only thing you need is tracking with a confirmed delivery. I've had a couple instances of buyers claiming they never received item and the confirmed delivery in tracking was enough for eBay and PayPal to both rule in my favor.

No, but price was never brought up during the discussion. I do seem to recall the signature confirmation option coming up automatically when printing labels through eBay on occasion but I believe it is still alterable. Maybe it does have to do with value of the sale. I've honestly never heard of this arbitrary price threshold.

That being said if someone requests signature confirmation and wants to pay the additional amount I'd be happy to oblige.

As a general rule of thumb, I pay more for Signature Confirmation on anything I sell that's $150-200+

Priority Mail shipments cover you for up to $50 automatically too.

What is Proof of Delivery?
Proof of Delivery is online documentation from a shipping company that includes all of the following:
The item’s status as delivered.
The date the item was delivered.
The recipient's address, showing at least the city and state, or city and country, or zip/postal code (or international equivalent). The address information on your shipping receipt must match the address on the Transaction Details page.
Signature Confirmation, if the full amount of the payment (including shipping and taxes) is $750 USD or more. This is documentation that can be viewed at the shipping company’s website and indicates that the item was signed for on delivery.

Thank you for getting it. The drivers who have to deliver hundreds of packages an hour for minimum wage during holiday season and will be let go once it’s over don’t care.

Those drivers are committing fraud. They aren’t going to lug a package back to the truck, they don’t have time for that.

If I say “I didn’t get it” and UPS says well, you signed for it, and I say that’s not my signature, I don’t know what happens. But I don’t have my product, so I’m not paying any money, and it doesn’t directly affect me if the shipper just loses out. I’d assume UPS doesn’t go back to the shipper and say, oops our bad, here’s the money you should have gotten for a product that we don’t know what happened to it.

Maybe the credit card company just pays you anyway and removes it from my bill. I’m sure the actual percentage loss from this is not too bad.

UPS drivers get paid a shit ton of money. They don't make minimum wage. Being a UPS driver is a really good job. And UPS is super strict on their policies. I have known 2 people who drove trucks for UPS and you are out with only a few screw ups. You don't get a long leash. You are held to a high standard. If UPS gets wind that a driver has forged ones signature, then they will lose their job immediately, and if a customer complained would get amply compensated by UPS, and possibly could be open to a lawsuit.

That is likely so rare it's not even worth factoring in. It has never happened to me ever, and I get medicine weekly that requires a signature and have for years. Not once has it happened.

UPS drivers can make around 80k in this economy. Long-haul truckers can probably clear 100k since they are in such demand right now.
