FAQ:
  • What is this thread? A massive collection of limited edition games & other attributing items, included with links.
  • Why put it all in one thread? More traffic due to collaborating interests.
  • Why is that important? This keeps the thread popular and doesn't risk a failed CE from falling through the cracks unnoticed.
  • What can be discussed here? Anything relevant to what is posted.
  • Why make another CE compilation? Karma.
  • Where are the big pictures? Still here, scroll down. Due to the increased number of CEs, a preface post is needed.
  • When is the Final Fantasy XVI CE? Not announced. Granted, IF it does, you can bet I will devote an entire page to it.
  • What about other CEs that have been announced? Give me a minute. It takes a bit of time to format the title, price, date, & retailer links in correctly.
  • What about the Book/Steelbook/Console/Misc. Picture Posts? I condensed the thread. Not necessary to include pictures for all those items. They will still be included in the Everything List post.

I got the Dragon Age metal print+steelbook in today. It looks really nice. $40 seems a tad steep, but a much better deal than the rook's coffer.

Definitely needs proxy service, got one now since there's no telling if or how many playasia would have for sale.

Biggest discrepancy between user and critics reviews i think I’ve ever seen. 60-80% negative user score against 80-85 critic score. Sounds like the paid professionals are enjoying it alteast.

For the record, I thought LoUII was a great game (that came out a terrible time).

Waiting for $10 like the dragon ball and park beyond CE’s. Just kidding, it’s probably not getting that low, but will get lower if it does not sell out. Bandai has demonstrated there pretty much is no floor, they just keep going lower.

Thought so. That explains Jujustu kaisen “CE” dropping by a lot. Probably will be $5 on Black Friday at this point

Well that game just sucked so price dropped on it fast. Something like Tekken won't get that low. $100 is a new low though as I bought it for $150 from them quite awhile back. I'm waiting for the Shadow of the Erdtree CE to get to like $100

STALKER 2 CE is gonna be slow and amazon says I won't get it until the 25th.
Lots of weird stuff with the CEs for that one. I don't believe the Ultimate Edition ever opened for pre-orders on any US retailers and I believe Amazon and Gamestop were the only retailers for the Collector's and Special Edition. It looks like they took pre-orders for a short time for second prints of all three versions for delivery in Spring 2025 through Final Boss Bundle, but on those second prints, they won't guarantee that they come with the unique to each version steelbooks. In any event, it will be interesting to see what fulfillment looks like in the next few weeks.

I've the limited on US amazon for like 5 minutes. The CE has popped up several times the past week. Amazon France has the limited and CE still up. Ultimate isn't around at all. That's $200 more for a lamp and backpack though.

Speaking of spensive, Flight Sim 2024 has a CE I didn't know about.

The version of the game with it is $200, so that's $60 of goodies if you are ok with $130 worth of planes with too.

a bit off topic but if you purchase from any vendors that utilize Braintree as payment processor AND paid with credit card (not paypal), watch your credit card statement. Words on the street is the payment processor been breached and credit card infos have been stolen. I know for sure Goodsmile and Square Enix US using Braintree

Received mine too (from Amazon). Packaging is all nicely designed, but I expected the figurine to be taller given the size of the box. It feels high quality though

The Great Circle CE is pretty nice. The globe is much higher quality than I thought it would be. The plane magnet just had a dap of super glue holding the wings on, so that needs fixed already. You use the plane on specific points and it has a magnet that it sticks to. One of the points will open the globe, so don't force it.

wow, monopoly go is the #1 game by consumer spending. 2.5 billion dollars, on a free to play game. no wonder i never win any damn tournaments, i thought we were all freeloading. now I see why all these companies are trying to buy mobile game providers.

It’s been a trend of course yet now it’s blatantly obviously. So many people, young and old, are hooked on buying IAPs like crack. Huge dopamine kick to just ‘buy now’ on credit and not second guess their spending.

I knew a couple people you’d never suspect blow hundreds of USD on Pokémon go crap years ago.

It isn’t the ‘death of gaming’ that some may think, yet with how America has turned from a country to a conglomerate, I can see developers stop making ‘real’ video games and make everything subscriptions and add-ons.

Not sure how accurate this website is but damn, those physical vs digital #s are sad to see...
A lot of companies do bad data analysis. This article does break down digital vs. physical excluding mobile and PC, which is more than most do, but it still uses revenue as a metric instead of units. Revenue includes subscriptions, DLC, live service, and generally stuff where physical isn't an option. If you look into companies' financial reports sometimes they will provide a unit breakdown, but not always. The splits I've seen this year by unit tend to be closer to 70/30 digital/physical +/- 10%. Digital jumped a ton during COVID (which makes sense) and the split didn't come back down afterward.

All three of the Elden Ring hardcover strategy guides are available again at retail prices, for < $45 each.

Elden Ring guides @ Amazon

I don't know why I keep posting about this when it seems like nobody cares. But guide #2 was going for $200+ just a couple of months ago, when you should have sold it. Some of them will likely be going for that again in the future.

So I got my Day 1 Edition of Ys Memoire today and I gotta say that it is a pretty nice package for the price.
Only thing is that my box is slightly, puffed out? Like it just doesn't want to stay closed. Is anyone else having an issue with there copy? (I have the Switch edition if that matters)

My ps5 version already looks a bit off and it's still sealed. At first I thought it was a result of target placing it diagonally in a box that was too small. But perhaps it was a manufacturing trend.

Difficult to describe.. perhaps looks like it would if I completely dismantled the outer box into a single flat piece and then tried to fold it back together.

Yeah different console versions and different retailers means it was probably something in the factory. Maybe they got a little squashed in packaging or maybe even when the plastic shrink wrapped them

Sqenix store has the Intergrade restock with the old gamestop exclusive steelbook for free. $55 shipped.

I would hope their packing is a lot better than Gamestop. I brought 3 from Gamstop and they were all badly scratched up

That was quick. I guess that's one time I'm happy I succumbed to the fomo. At least for now.
Yeah even the game is sold out now. Dang did the steelbook last 10 mins or something? By the time you posted here, looks like it was already gone. The one I have from GameStop has a noticeable dent and I'm imagine these are in better shape, so it would've been nice to get and replace.

The post was 4 minutes old when I ordered. I took my time with it too. I remember the gamestop ones being damaged 90% of the time and that's why I didn't try too hard getting it then. It was in the cart with the game and shows on the order.

fuck... I wish I could have gotten in on this. I went to 3 diff GS to find one that was just kind of fucked up but still just looked awful overall. I imported the EU Amazon Germany exclusive bundle for like $150, and they shipped it in a paper mailer and it arrived beyond fucked up. Finally paid like $80 on eBay for a semi-decent one.

Between this and the BBY Rebirth SBs, there had to have been a reprint of these SBs...

That steelbook was never Gamestop exclusive, I got mine from the SE Store originally.

Was it a bonus only for the standard edition? I preorder the 1st Class Edition there and didn't get one.

Was 1st class part of the Intergrade update? I thought it was just on PS4. This steelbook was only for the PS5 copy which is different than the steelbook from the deluxe PS4 game. Square might have had it, but it would have been very low stock or sometimes only in some regions. I seem to recall gamestop being the only way to get it and 90% of them had damage.

There was also the issue of gamestop no longer doing online pre-order bonuses and only store customers getting it.
