Square could have made the CE have all the DLC/Pre-order bonuses included, though the price might have been a bit higher than 79.99.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I don't know why I never thought of ordering from another country, but even though I don't know German I was able to figure things out. Ends up being ~$26 after shipping, I would have probably spend more than this on eBay anyway.

That's actually pretty good. I wonder if the book is in german or english... and whether the dlc code will work once imported.

I'm guessing the dlc code with most likely work on some form of european psn account can then play with it on your main account after installing them, but can't be sure.

FF13 was absolute garbage and I was a huge fan of Square, but Chrono Trigger is my favourite Square game of all time and this has a huge time-travel theme too.. I feel so conflicted.

I have to say that most of my initial negative impressions of FFXIII stemmed from the voice acting. I've (finally) started into it during the last week and it's not half as bad as I remember from trying it out last year; a lot of this has to do with the fact that I'm now playing it with Japanese voices and English subtitles. I hated the voice acting from almost everyone in English, but in the original language it's not bad at all. I like the game's battle system and its encouragement of fast, strategic decision-making. Granted, I'm only about six hours in, so...

In any case, if and when I do pick up XIII-2 it will definitely be sans English voice acting.

Do note that the European Steelbook is G1 (DVD) sized and not G2 (Blu-ray) sized which is Future Shop exclusive. Also the inside art is different. ;)

Wait how did you get the japanese voice with english subtitles o_O is there a special version? Or did I just not realize it (I traded in my copy).

Nevermind I think i just found the answer. Import an Asia version.

You got it. On Play-Asia they refer to it as a "Chinese Language Version," but it has Japanese voices and English or Chinese subtitles. I only wish I could've also played FFX this way...
Was it really cheap? I can't imagine double-dipping on FF13.
No, but I had gotten a really good deal on FFXIII to begin with and actually made money off it when I traded it in, so didn't feel too bad about it. From what I've experienced so far, it was 100% worth it.

Thanks. I'll try to get someone to get me a copy in HK.

Where do people shop in HK? PS3 games tend to be pretty pricey there.

There's a computer/Games market near one of the MTR stations, it's named Golden something (like square or market). The place near my uncle also has a little plaza that sells electronics and games. Hopefully he'll find it for me at these two places, if not he'll has to pass it to my cousin who is more experience in where to get games.
