[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

Don't know where it magically appeared from, as it was never there before, but i found a 64 mb 360 memory unit(official) for $3.18 total. It's available for trade.

LOL.. Sometimes you just have to be "THAT GUY" ! ;) Who really cares what the K-mart employees think about you anyways ?? I just walk into the electronics dept and tell them I want to buy some clearance games and ask them if they have a portable scanner available ? Then I tell them I am looking for cheap games for my kids and/or to give out as gifts and would they please mind scanning some titles behind the glass.

So far, ONE K-MART had many of the clearance titles still marked at $10 or $15.00 and when I told them I had just bought some of the same games for $3 to $5 each and ask them to check their system to see if they had been marked down lower or had pending lower clearance prices and she took all the games back to someone to check on this, and then came back and said, "I am sorry, all those games are marked recall and have to be returned" !? I am like " Returned to who ?!". She said she didn't know..

Now, that story was an exception only, because I hit paydirt at THREE other local K-marts within 30 miles away and scored 10-20 games at each store for $4.97 or less and then DOUBLED my money(or tripled it in some cases) by trading them in at Gamestop on the $10 bonus trade promo + my edge discount ! I had them scan nearly every darn game behind the glass that I thought was a clearance game(including checking behind the stacks of each title looking for hidden gems which I found quite a few misfiled/misplaced) Some cashiers were friendly, some were difficult. One guy even said, I was helping him out alot by getting rid of his old games to make way for new games and keeping his shelf cleaner as I offered to sort out of order titles as we went. He even asked me to come by once a week ! lol...

It is true, some prices were YMMV and some stores had DIFFERENT clearance prices either from being on a different update schedule with corporate AND/ALSO some stores mark their stuff down themselves OR don't mark the games down so quickly if they are still selling well.

IMHO though, it is EASY MONEY when all the stars are aligned right like the timing of this extra $10 bonus promo at Gamestop ! Even if you have to be known as "THAT GUY".... :D That said, if the promo wasn't going, it would still be a great way to get $5 and under games for your collection or flip on Craigslist or Ebay or give out as gifts. The Gamestop ONLY works right now due to the $10 bonus prom, otherwise the games are $4.97 or less for a reason you know ! ;)(mostly OLD 07 sports titles)

P.S. My local Gamestop employees are always helpful to me but very envious with my flipping. They are like "I need to start doing this too cuz I don't even have a PS3 yet and this would be a GREAT way to get one !" I just laugh and tell them they are right. :roll:

Yes. Some have more and some have less. Many have a CLEARANCE section but there is USUALLY nothing too good in there. Some of the clearance games I have found are on a certain CLEARANCE shelf behind the glass but the others are still marked $49.99 or $59.99 or $29.99 or even no price at all and are MIXED IN WITH ALL THE REGULAR STACKS OF GAMES !! The money to be made is good but it does take some work !

Every time I've ever even half hinted at the stores I've found stuff at or THOUGHT I saw stuff at, they've been stripped bare of good clearance stuff in short order. So yeah, I'll continue to be vague and say 'my local Kmart' for every damn response due to what's happened in the past.

But, for once, I also concur with monkeydeew, in that people SHOULD do their own dirty work. This includes the people who waste 30 fuckin' posts whenever there's a trade deal going on(like the FYE or Gamestop ones now) asking 'what's some good trades?'.

I mean, for the FYE one, you can find out a rough estimate of trade values from going to secondspin.com or wherehouse.com, but I suppose it's just easier to be a bunch of lazy fucks and ask people on here, huh?

Not to derail, but the plantronics gamecom x30 is badass, and can be had for less than $10 shipped off ebay...it looks like it's uncomfortable, but it's actually pretty damn nice.
 
XBox Live 3-month Kit - $3

I got (2) with 3-month Live, 100 Live Points, Joust, and headset
and (2) with 3-month Live, 400 Live Points and headset.

Sticker said $29.99 but they scanned at $3. The ones with 100 Live points said the codes had to be used by 6/30/07 but they all worked fine.

Anything that rings up 'price req', have them check with the hand scanner. The guy I was dealing w/ automatically knew to grab the hand scanner when they were ringing up that way, and gave everything to me for 10% the original price w/ no hesitation.

For my part, I went on vacation recently and checked all the KMarts between Albuquerque and Tulsa. ;)

The only stores in Lancaster County I did not hit up are the Ephrata and Elizbethtown ones. I scored well at Fruitville Pike, Rt. 30 and Columbia. There was nothing at the Willow Street store. Also, the only store in York was a jackpot, 4 Vision Bundles and 2 Halo 3 Headsets.


Also on the way back from the beach, I hit a Kmart near Camden, NJ. I did no digging, but scored a Battlestation Midway. This location maybe a good place to check if you are in the Camden/Philly area.
 
yeah we should stop posting store location because after i reported about my kmart experience when i came back later it looks like it got cleaned out or somthing -_-. Gonna have to paitiently wait for next drop list.

I picked up a PSP Car Adapter for $5. I don't even know why I picked it up. Perhaps I was so frustrated that someone raided my local store of all those $5 games that I felt I had to pick something up...

I've done this in the past, but things are changing in my area. Twice in the past week I tried to buy a game that was out of the system but was denied. In both cases, the employee knew to look up the price, but the manager had issued an order that anyone who sells an item that's out of the system gets fired immediately. I asked the manager at one if I could buy it at the last price before it pennied, and he very emphatically said no. This happened at two different Kmarts, so I'm guessing I'm going to get this now at all of the local stores. :cry:
 
anyone has extra hd dvd player or pink/halo controllers willing to sell/trade with me for what it cost + shipping? =( i can't find those in all kmart within 50miles

This one employee has gotten so used to seeing me buy clearance games that if it rings up "check shelf label" he just asks me what the price should be. I got Rainbow Islands Revolution (DS) and Ice Age 2 (DS) for $3 each since that was the last price they were before they went out of the system, and the employee was nice enough to trust me.
 
I've been trying to get the last copy of Final Fantasy VI they've got for GBA but it's still marked at $29.99. They even have it sitting in the bin marked "GBA Clearance" with all the worst kinds of shovelware you can think of.

I might try them again today, and even if it's still $29.99 I may get it because I hear it's getting pretty hard to find.

Shadowrun $20 (not a great price, but it was marked clearance)

For the PS3:

MLB The Show $5
Virtua Tennis 3 $5

The lady working in electronics was very nice and mentioned she just marked down the PS3 games (this Kmart was behind others in my area). Also noticed she had a shopping cart full of games that must have dropped out the system. I was tempted to make a play for them, but nothing really caught my eye to inspire me to make the effort.

Non-gaming related, I noticed a pretty wide selection of digital cameras on clearance (Fuji, Sony, Kodak, etc.), some close to $100 off. And a last-gen iPod Nano marked at $199.
 
If you're looking for the Live Vision bundle, don't bother going to the St. Clair Shores, MI store because I liberated the last two they had for $8 ea. The clerk was a nice older woman and when I said they were supposed to be on clearance, she said, "Yes. They're $20. A couple kids bought them a couple of weeks ago for $20." I told her that I thought that it was supposed to be $8 - as if $20 is a lousy deal for a year of XBL; I was just about to buy from Buy.com for $39 off the CAG link before checking here - and she scanned it and it came up $8. She congratulated me on the deal and I told her about CAG.

The copy at my local Kmart rang up at either 10 or 12 last week when I checked.

During the $20 FYE Bioshock deal I went to my local FYE and asked if they had any copies in and the guy said to me "Cheap Ass Gamer?" Either he knew of it himself or someone else said it earlier. :)
 
Sorry about that, but I really doubt she's going to rush home and log on and/or rat us out. She looked about 60 and probably forgot the name I gave her before I'd exited the store. Besides, how are we hurting anyone when all we're doing is spreading the word about their prices. It's not like some of the convoluted PM deals I've seen which involve a lot of running around and bending of the PM rules.

Hey do you think if i give an employee the upc or item name they can check if it sitting in there stock room for me? I can't seen to find the item locator at customer desk you guys've been talking about. I'm afraid if i give them the upc and they scan it see the price even if it instock they will just say no and buy it for themselves >.>

Yeah, I realize now I wasn't that clear. Just thought it was odd that I haven't seen one of those in stores since they were clearanced out last fall, and one pops up at full price. :)
