[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

What's the full title for Stronghold? I ask because I looked it up on Gamespot and it brought back all of the other Stronghold games(mainly for PC) as well as some 'to be announced' game called Shwarzenberg or some crap for PS3/360.

This is when you make sure there's more than one copy available and that the other copy is back in electronics still before going back out to get your copy to return. Return the copy @ customer service, then go and rebuy the other copy in electronics.

Although I will say that when I returned the other HD-DVD drives a couple months ago, they returned them to electronics very quickly and they were back on the shelf and retagged with the new lower price before I left the store.
 
I kind of figured, since I couldn't find an entry for Stronghold, though I swore I remembered there being a 360/PS3 one coming out. Though that may have been Kingdom Under Fire, but I swore the world Stronghold was in that title someplace.
 
I stopped at a different KMart today that I was last at a month ago wher, I think they put some out of the system games back at random prices. NBA Street Vol 2 for XBox was $2.00 (tagged $2.00 and $19.99), Gun for the 360 was tagged $10.00 but I didn't scan it. Unfortunately everything was correctly tagged up to the last drop so they hardly had anything. I finally found Custom Robo DS though

They are 3 separate discs and assuming they're all still over $1, they'd work for the current GS promotion. I used a couple of them back when the deal was an additional $10 for two current gen games.

It is 3 separate games in one wrapper, people in the circuit city thread reported being able to flip them to GS for $26 with Edge.
 
Ahhhh finally some more clearance games to hunt for at Kmart. I'll have to check my local store tomorrow to see if they still have Project Sylpheed and NiGHTs.
 
not a big selection at the one i hit tonight but i did get Shadowrun for $5 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance for $10. They had Strangehold (i already have it), Spider-Man 3 and NFL Tour in the clearance bin also but i didn't check prices on them.
 
My store is still selling Geometry Wars Galaxies Wii for 19.99 (white tag that scans at that amount). Employees in electronics seem clueless that it should be on clearance for $5. Can a store ignore a national clearance price and re-tag the item like this??

Prices probably havent been updated, someone here said that it'll automatically go into the system after a week, maybe you should check back then if the employees havent updated the prices themselves.

Have you actually done one before? I've never had to do that and I keep my receipts. I've bought stuff from another K-mart that hadn't done the PLC's and then price match it at another K-mart. I've also price adjusted stuff I bought 2 months ago. I've never had a problem and if I did, I would go during a different shift or use a different store. Also, check the bottom of the K-mart receipt, that is the last day you can do anything about it. Unless of course the item goes out of system before you can adjust it.
 
The two Kmarts that in my area refuse to do a return/rebuy on the spot, I've been told more than once that I would need to wait for it to be put back on the floor.

The Simpsons game for PS3 was like that here with random prices, except the price wasn't so random as it was put back up to sticker price of $29.99 for PS3.

I picked up Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer from the store I found Timeshift for $10 at the other day.. I'll probably just go on rampages with the team in the supposedly totally destructible environment, like I used to in Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.

As for Timeshift, my2k2zx2, it received a 6.5 from Gamespot, but for $10 almost ANY game is a worthwhile purchase.

Oh and for anyone who wants to pick up the new TNA wrestling game for PS2/PS3/360, I got stuck IN the ring because of a glitch about 2-3 times when I was helping my one buddy figure out the copy his dad just picked him up the other day. I'm hoping that's the ONLY glitch you'll run into, but it seems like it may be a 'broken' game that shipped. Just a fair warning for those wanting it.

Yeah, good idea. I'll just wait to see if the system automatically corrects the mistake since Geometry Wars Galaxy Wii should be $5, not $19.99. Strangely, the other clearance titles I scanned at the same store are now at the correct $5 and $10 price points.
 
I played through Timeshift on the 360 and for $10 it is worth picking up, good FPS in my standards and it has sort of an interesting story and the whole time control works well.
 
Elebits rang up as $15 at my Kmart.

Picked up Custom Robo and Capcom vs. SNK Card Fighters for $5 each.

I couldn't find Pokemon Blue Rescue Team, someone else must have
bought it before the drop.
 
I picked up a copy of Shadowrun for $5. I plan on using it as trade in fodder, but as a Live silver member it's kinda tempting to keep since it's one of the three games you can play on LIVE for free.
I'm going to hit another Kmart tomorrow, and hopefully find a copy of Sylpheed or NiGHTs. I'm going to just wait for Timeshift and Stranglehold to drop to $5 before grabbing them. I doubt anyone will snap them up.

In that case, it sounds it might just be one of those games that is somehow missed if everything else scans at the right prices. My local KMart has the Godfather for Wii for $29.99 ever since it has been on clearance, even though it should be $5. They had NiGHTS for $5 so it wasn't that the store was behind on the price changes.

At another KMart, I found Virtua Tennis 3, when it should have been $5, it scanned $39.99, when everything else I got was at the correct prices.

Thanks for the info. Since it's likely a mistake, guess it won't hurt to ask the person who processes the PLC list if he/she can correct the error to conform to the national clearance prices.

As stated here before some games if they're in the "clearance" system go through the complete cycle and get marked back up to retail.
 
Hm, I saw a new Persona 3 box set (the original, not FES) at K-Mart today, and was really debating buying it. I already have FES, but a sealed box set of P3 did sound tempting. Unfortunately this K-Mart is somewhat ghetto, so there was nobody in the Electronics department, so I went to Customer Service, they paged the employee supposedly working there, and I waited 10 minutes, went back, they paged her again, waited another 10, and then finally said screw it and gave up.

I wanted mainly to get it price checked to see if it would still ring up at MSRP of 49.99 (there was one of those price tags on there that said 49.99, but that box set has been out for so long...)
 
Went to one today and saw quite a few things on the list. Wii items were a tad slim as was Ps3 but I walked away empty handed. Im going to check another one closer to me tomorrow.

Oh To answer another posters Question. The XM radio I got last week on clearence was $69.99. It comes with a remote and the sound quality is very impressive. I routed the antenna in the cracks of my office cube and it picks it up great!

It's still full price. I had one scanned on Friday. I see these everywhere I go around here. If it ever gets cheap I want it just for the soundtrack.

Same here... which is funny because everywhere was sold out about a month or two before FES was announced.:lol:
 
Does anyone else's K-mart have tons of games on display and not behind the glass case now? My K-mart has all their DS games, a good amount of 360 games and about 100+ PS2 games all out in the open. People must be stealing those things like hotcakes.
 
Do systems go on clearance as well? I ask because thru my travels I've found a few PS3 systems that still have the Spiderman 3 packaging. I also found a pokemon DS. If someone can help out, or give me UPC's I'd be a VERY happy camper!

I've found most all the $5 markdowns in the past few days. Some are still in the case at full price! Keep looking if you want them, and scan prices if you can.

Unfortunately, at my closest two Kmart stores, the vast majority of games are still stuck in the cases since the games that have been left out end up being stolen very quickly.

It's a shame really, since it's a whole hell of a lot easier to just bring up games from off the shelf instead of having to find someone to open the case, get price checks to see if the newest updates too effect yet and THEN buying what you want.

Only problem with games being out besides being stolen is that they're usually snapped up pretty quick by ordinary consumers, since they're usually properly marked then.
 
Yeah at one KMart I was told that they don't really bother to markdown stuff in the case as it is a pain and time consuming but the games out of the case are up to date. Fine by me though, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten Excite Truck for $5 there last month

Hit another Kmart today and sadly found nothing. I don't know what happend, but the store used to be a goldmine. Then they changed the fixtures around and everything disappeared. They barely have any games now.
I wound up going back to my local Kmart and picked up Juiced 2 and Golden Compass.

They did that at my one local Kmart too. As it turns out, they put many games in the back and had them loaded on a rolling cart. My one friend from CAG who I've gone game hunting with went to the local store with me and somehow managed to sweet talk the one clerk in electronics to bring out said cart.

On it was a plethora of various games from the prior gen(Xbox/PS2), some of which I had never even seen at this Kmart before.

So maybe the same is happening at your Kmart and they've moved a buttload of stuff into the back? That also happened with the HD-DVD drives for the 360, as they had all three of theirs at this same Kmart sitting in the back collecting dust.
 
Same here, they were clearing out the cases a few months back and I just happened to be there. I somewhat befriended the new clerk and he let me look through the stuff while they were clearing out the case. Picked up a few items that I would have never seen with them clearing it out, mostly trading material but I think I picked up .hack vol 3 that day.
