[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

About 1/3 are for me, the rest are for resell and seeing as I have already sold 6 of the games ( 1 Beautiful Katamari, 1 Tetris Evo, Raving Rabbids, 1 Cars, 1 Ratatouille and 1 GBA Super Robot Taisen) within 24hrs between different sellers for a little over a $100, I think its clear to say I will make my money make back and plenty extra, I only spent about $145 on all the above items, not to shabby.

Also I have been on cag for years but the password reset link would not work through my blackberry to get my original account updated so I had to create a new account until I could reinstate my original accounts password, which is now reactived by the way so I probably wont be using this one much more. Reason I am stating this is because I have never been helped out once by any person on this board before and gave up trying a long time ago. I buy what I know will resell and make plenty of $$ as a side hobby. The money I make from this pays for my games and figure collecting and I dont have a problem with that.

Personally I got what I wanted, but am holding off for Contra 4 to drop further (it's $7.99 at my store). I'd pick up a Katamari and Super Mario World if I could find them, but I haven't even bothered searching for them.

Helped out? Define 'helped out' though. If by that you mean that you tried to do a trade for something from someone's TL for something they didn't want or need and would be stuck with if they agreed to it or you tried to lowball them for an item, then I can understand why no one wanted to help out.

People on here have said that I complain about alot of shit, which I admit I do, but there's also a reason behind alot of it. Unless you live in the middle of nowhere, chances are there was someone else who might be like me and was waiting for those games to hit the lowest clearance price before buying what they wanted.

But instead of seeing if anyone else was in your area, you went in and hoarded everything you 'felt would resell'. Not cool and even worse to brag about such a haul, though I admit I've bragged about hauls in the past. You don't see me doing that anymore really, but I used to as well.

I learned a long time ago to only buy what I will personally use or I can easily get rid of(to local shops if need be), since the rest will just sit here and take up space.
 
The nature of the beast has changed even within this site so people are just going to have to deal with it... theres more lurker,etc.. here then ever and this site is at some points no different then the competition now but I prefer this site so its either adapt or move on.


One thing I have to point out though is SHOE478 do you have to make a comment about everything here or what? You are going to get my vote as the Cheap Angry Gamer of the year.

I got the Eye of Judgement pack for $19.99, and Dead Head Fred for PSP for $5.99. My boyfriend got Final Fantasy II on PSP for $4.99, and Wipeout Pulse for $4.99. It was a good cleanup!

The one month will never expire. You could still use XBox Cards for gold membership so the ones that expire in 07 are still valid. I used expired cards to get Frogger and Time Pilot recently

If anyone needs a prepaid cell, Kmart has the Virgin Mobile Marbl flip phone on clearance for $8 now. My local store had a stack of about 8 of them in the display case and 10-12 still hanging on one of those magnetic hooks.

The Nyko brand PS3 controllers are $12, for those looking for a cheap third party PS3 controller to grab. The only warning with those is that they don't have a Playstation button on them, so you need to keep your old SixAxis/Dual Shock 3 around for surfing to the XMB.

They still had two of the Eye Of Judgement bundles at the store I hit tonight.

I also had them price check The Simpsons and Pirates: At World's End for PS3 and they came up $29.99(I think this was one of the games re-entered into the system a year ago) and $39.99 respectively.

The codes generally work even though they say they expire.

You don't load the games from the disc. Once you place the disc in your tray, the arcade titles show up on your dashboard.

This is why it is beneficial to print out barcodes and go a-hunting. Of course, that requires a laser printer, which isn't always an easy thing to obtain. As for Def Jam Icon, have you tried Sears? They've marked it down to $5 as well.

Speaking of barcodes, has anyone entertained the thought of creating a document with the entire list of barcodes for every current-gen console game and sharing it on the site? Or is that seen as giving potential competition too much of an edge?

I have a $60 HP inkjet that works fine with barcodes for Kmart and Sears. They don't work at Walmart, but since deal-hunting there isn't that fulfilling, no biggy.

I'm not sure what the advantage of that would be. That would be about 1,000 bar codes just for 360, PS3 and Wii games. That would be a nightmare to create with little reward. The do-it-yourself-as-you-need-them approach is much more practical.

I keep all my bar codes in a Photoshop doc and keep adding them as I go. I only print out 12 to take with me (since there's rarely more than that many games that I'm looking for at any one time). I save all the old bar codes on invisible layers in case I need them.

I admit that I've hoarded guides, though I learned my lesson on that a long time ago, except for when it's limited edition or hardcover ones, those ones I still grab as much as I can.

I've helped out people on here before by buying up and shipping games they couldn't find in their own areas and doing it for cost+shipping, unlike the person whose activities I commented on.

Mind you, if I knew I could find buyers for some games like that, I might consider it. But I've bought games in a lot like that before and found NO buyers and ended up just squeaking in a return in the last couple of days before the 90 days or so was up.

After that, I determined to only grab stuff that I wouldn't be hurting if I got stuck with(guides), but even those got to be too much and they take up so much f'n space.

So lately, I haven't grabbed much of anything and what I have I haven't paid much for.

Anyway, like I said before, if my comments bother you, hit IGNORE because I doubt I'll stop making them just to suit you.

They had many of those games marked with clearance stickers at a Kmart I hit up in NY state last week, so I guess someone made a major mistake, huh?

They also used to have Bioshock for PS3 marked with a clearance sticker, as well as the 360 version around by me.

But they removed those stickers quickly.

I agree that him bragging about reselling the haul being dumb, but you should know that if you wait for the games to hit rock bottom prices they will be gone, and if he had mentioned here that the games were at the store they would have dissapeared instantly.

when I joined this site I respected you for shaing tons of info, but lately I am starting to be annoyed about how you always complain when someone makes a good haul. I have lost tons of great deals to other Cags, but It just taught me that as a CAG to buy what I can, and leave what I dont want, If other area CAGs want something they know to call me and I will sell them what they want, and that is alot better than they do for me when they get there first.

My local KMart has a ton of games with clearance stickers that are MSRP. Mostly all 360 and PS3 like Viva Pinata LE for $19.99

I guess my case is a little bit different b/c they didn't have stickersd on them but I find non-clearance titles mixed in with the "$19.99 & Under" rack all the time. Both times I've taken the games to the counter and told them where I got it. They scan it, find out it's $49.99, and just put it back in the case.

I do have to say however that the manager at one of the stores in my area was pretty cool. He told me there was no way he could honor a $30 price drop but if I found something else I wanted he could possibly knock off $5 - $10 for my trouble.

That can work out good if they have a "30% off Clearance items" sale. I got a XBLA Point card on the cheap that way once.:lol:

Actually, I had no problems for the longest time waiting for stuff to drop to 90% off and knowing that it would still be there when it did finally hit that magic number.

However, between the multitudes of lurkers and Kmart's own crackdown where they demanded that stores actually mark and continue to properly mark clearance items, I have alot more competition for deals anymore.

As for getting anything anymore, one of the CAG's local to me(who I play against very often on PSN)lets me know when there's something left at a Kmart and then I go and check and see if I might want to grab it.

If not, then I leave it for someone else.

But if you notice whenever I post anymore, I say 'my local Kmart' or 'my other local Kmart', since I learned NOT to post specific locations due to being fucked out of deals before after telling people on here about them.

If they want the deals, they have to figure out which of our 'local Kmarts' has them, since I won't mention specifics anymore.
