[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

You miss understood me. This TV really sucks, I can't play any games that have shadows. It has nothing to do with SD or HD. You just can't see shit, it just a big black blob if you are not above the TV. When I stand up in front of the TV, I see everything. I tried raising/lowering the gamma..color..tint and it still sucks. I put 2 VHS tapes under the back of the base so that the TV would tilt forward, but it was dangerous. BTW I sit on a game rocker (from Target).

Maybe mines a lemon....I got as a gift more than a year ago..no gift reciept. I didn't even call for warranty. I wish I could take a picture to show you, but it is buried deep in my garage.

I couldn't and wouldn't sell it to anyone I know or anyone who would know where I live (Garge sale) because whomever bought this TV from me would punch me or throw eggs at my house once they try it at home.

I think Acer is middle brand...I am using it right now Acer AL1916W...Black Friday buy 2 or 3 years ago from target.

None of my sears still have these lol. They were all gone when they were about 70 or something. But yeah anyway I do have a UPC bar for this and I scan it on the price checker often it's still 105 lol. It was $149.99 for a LONG time lol. My kmart is pretty up to date with the sticker prices.
 
Hey, sorry if I sound like an idiot but how does this all work? You just get the UPC codes, scan it on the scanners at the store, and see if it is the clearance price? The only thing is that my k-mart doesn't have scanners in the store which would make it kind of awkward to have the person scan it and put it back just because it isn't the clearance price. Anyone else have K-marts without scanners?
 
One of my local ones was down to ONE scanner for a while, but they recently added a second one. There's a few that have ZERO of them around here, which completely sucks, since then you have to find an employee and then ask them to scan stuff for you.

If it doesn't ring up the right clearance price, then you get that 'you made me do alot of work for nothing' glare and the most you can do is thank them for helping you out and leave quietly.

Thing is, I would search your store top to bottom and see if you can find a scanner in a different section someplace. I found out that the one I thought had no scanners had one back near automotive/seasonal. Of course then you get the 'are you taking that stuff to go stash/steal it' looks from employees when you go to drag the items halfway across the store.

But it's a choice between that or "hassling" the employee. You can't win either way.

Haha that is an exact replica of my Kmart experiences as well. Last time I carted a bunch of clearance stuff all the way to a back corner of toys, and 2 Kmart employees approached me quickly from opposite directions at the same time, as if they had just been alerted that I was stealing. It was irritating to say the least.

The only place worse is Sears, where I seem to get those annoyed-as-hell glares every time, as the clearance prices are always several drops behind at my locations.

The scanners at Sears are worse because they don't even work. They seem to work randomly. I think I know why though, because I saw a girl trying to fix one once, they are basically computers inside of a tight enclosed housing, its obvious that they are overheating, even the panel feels hot when you go to scan something. Even if you manage to get the merchandise you want to check a price on away from electronics and over to a scanner, your probably going to find yourself at a non-working scanner which sucks. Also sucks that you can never get an employee to help you at Sears when you want.

My Kmart had one scanner for a while, but now they have one right by toys (very handy) and one in the house accessories department. They used to have one in-between electronics and toys but now that one is gone, I used to use the one in sporting goods for scanning barcodes because it was out of sight of pretty much any employee, not sure if its there anymore, it might still be there.

Target has the best scanners, you can even input a DPCI code (I think that's what its called) into it to get the number of items left or for checking items that you think might be in the store that are not there. You can't do that on any other scanner in any store around here.

That's why I grab a hand basket. I haven't received any bad looks since I started doing that. Plus I can take 20 or 30 games at a time instead of having to make multiple trips to the scanner.
 
My local KMart has 4 scanners, but you aren't allowed to take games out of electronics (and they have someone in electronics most of the time). I only take stuff to the scanner if no one is in the department since I don't want to get in trouble.

I also agree about the Sears scanners, even though there are multiple scanners on each floor, they don't work a lot. Especially if you scan stuff to quickly then it freezes up and keeps showing the price for 1 item scanned.

So where are these prices coming from that you are posting. Im new to the Kmart experiance and I checked out the local one today and they were not anywhere near posted prices. The manager is going to be there tomm and I was palying on talking to her about updating the prices and what not but I need to know what Im talking about other then "yeah I read on the CAG Interwebz this should be 0.01 not 29.99."
 
Still lacking in PS2 drops, but I will definitely be waiting for FF VI and Pikmin Wii to drop a bit more.

kaydigi is a kmart employee who kindly provides us with the latest clearance drops. However, not all Kmarts are up to date with their prices because the employees don't do it right on day , it may take a few days (or weeks) to drop to the latest.

Well thanks a million kaydigi. So does anyone know the name of the list? Like what would I ask the manager if she is going to update her prices to look at? Im a pretty assertive person and dont mind asking people to do something they might not want to do.

CAG is the abbreviation for CheapAssGamer.

Anyway, if you ask them why they haven't updated yet, chances are you'll get alot of funny looks AND questions about how you know so much about their store and when they do updates like I did when I mentioned the RMU(their pricing gun).

The manager DOES NOT have to update prices. Go ahead and run your mouth and they will treat you as a LP issue. Granted it sounds like you already ran your mouth some so damage has been done.:roll:
 
A bit off the wall, but any idea of how long in till Kmart will Clearance out the MGS4 PS3? I know a single store that still has one in (And its still in the system for $400)

Since Sony dropped the price of the PS3 to $299.99 and all older models to $399.99, I'd say NEVER since that's the price the company has set down for it.

Now, if it lingers in the case at your store till the start of the next next-gen, then you might have a shot at it clearancing. Otherwise, I'd just buy it at $400 and do so with the Sony credit card that gives you a $100 credit right now.

The one Kmart by me used to have a fully assembled pool table down the one end of the store where they once had a Little Caesar's pizza cafe. But I checked this past week and it and the entire cafe setup(which was still there, but being used for a clearance section)had disappeared.

Ours had all the winter clothes there, no more food at Kmart (that is a very good thing), our Kmart kept winter clothes and Xmas crap till very late spring and we bought gloves and scarves for .99 there. There was still a covered soda dispenser there, they had all the booths and counter removed and just placed all the clothing, crap and gloves/scarves in there. But now they have a wall put over it and the wall has kids backpacks and other things hanging on it.

That sounds like what they did at the one Kmart by me. It was the Lil Caesars thing last month with all of the clearance stuff in that section and now the sign and counters and crap are gone, replaced by a kids clothing section.

Oh and I think I found the new item that'll be the running gag of the Kmart thread(like Mark Of Kri for PS2 was for a couple of years, at least):

Logitech wireless Bluetooth headset for PS3-stuck @ fuckin' $32 for 6 months already
