[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

* GTA San Andreas older version is indeed 2.00 for xb, but FF rang up 29.99. I also noticed a few retagged 14.99 games were retagged again at 11.00*

Good find on that DDR. I'm dying to find one, but no deal at 3 Kmarts.
 
DDR has been one of the easier-to-find clearance titles (at least of the ones that interest me), so keep up the faith and you might find one.

What do you mean by "older" version - the hot coffee one or just non-PH? Give me the UPC you scanned at $2 and I'll add it to the list.

Ive been eyeballing a copy of 007 From Russia With Love PSP for months buried behind the glass, I finally asked the price on it tonight and rang up $29.99 :roll:

I was at a Kmart here in Richmond VA yesterday, and saw a new shippers display of cheap titles, $5-$15. It looked like the same distributor that sent out the displays to Kmart & Sears around Christmas. There were some new old titles in the assortment, so if you're cruising by a Kmart check it out. My personal favorite deals were Oddworld Stranger for $4.99 and Bards Tale PS2 for $9.99.

Weird, I picked up Oddworld Stranger's Wrath from a K-mart in Richmond VA about a month ago for $3. Did they place some sort of sticker over the old UPC? They also have Rayman DS for about $15, most likely because they placed a sticker over the original UPC, though I haven't peeled the sticker off and scanned it to check.
 
No, these were definitely new old stock shipped out with new displays, not in-store markdowns. And yes they are re-stickered with a new price on the front (white sticker) and new UPC sticker.

Haunting Ground $14.99 (I have been searching for a cheap copy of this forever besides getting robbed at EBgames for a used copy)


They have Bard's Tale @ $9.99 at the store by me is that game any good??

So seeing these have been RE-stickered lol if you peel those off will the game be cheaper or could it possibly go the other route??
 
I noticed that as well but I thought it might be a price mistake. Sometime in the next few days I was going to try to price check the UPC in store to see if it's $2.99 in store as well.

I think I can check later today. I can distinctly remember several copies of the game actualy on the shelf at my Kmart. It probably wouldn't hurt to print out the product page. I just got quoted for 8 bucks trade in at eb over the phone.
 
Today's trip to K-Mart:

- Killer 7 had two $14.99 stickers on it and rang up for $49.99. Got a manager to override that for me.
- Donkey Kong Jungle Beat rang up at $39.99. No thanks.

I guess my K-Mart kinda sucks. I did get the GBA Castlevania Double Pack for $15 there in the past though.

Depends on how much you like strategy games. I'm not a big start fan so I only played it for a couple hours. It is an awesome game I just don't have the time or willpower to beat the entire campaign. However if strat games are you thing by all means play it it's probably one of the best ever made.

My friend tells me Command and Conquer is addictive as hell so it just makes this real tempting to open

Yeah. You should definately play it...it's one of the best ds games out there.

One thing I found interesting was that some of these actually were cheaper than the current clearance prices. For example, the new display has Bubble Bobble Revolution for $9.99, while the clearance price for it is still $20.

Uhhhh I would like to make this very clear...removing price stickers on items in a retail store to change the price is considered a form of theft. You're trying to take money away from the store, and if caught you'll be treated as a shoplifter. I see people occasionally mention this practice on these boards, and Im never sure if theyre joking or not. Be aware the store manager will NOT find it funny if youre caught.

I've mentioned it before, but I picked up Bubble Bobble Revolution when it was down to $13 at Circuit City awhile back. It is a terrible game and I'm thrilled that I pawned it off to someone on Goozex. Terrible, terrible, terrible game that is also bugged. Check the Wikipedia entry on it for details, but the game is unplayable after a particular level and you have to send it in to Codemasters for a fix.

Even without the bug: Terrible.

anyways fear 360 for $7.50 is amazing...but in my book highly doubtful

so i got hugely lucky today. i recently purchased a 360 from a fellow CAG. so i've been looking at live deals. well i stopped by kmart, and they had an older live box, so i had it scanned, and it was 42, just like the front page says. so i buy it. then i poke around a little more on the deals page, and see that target has some clearanced. well i check out target, and they have a 12 month for 24 and a 3 month for 14. so i get them both, and stop by kmart again to return that older starter kit. well i also saw earlier that the 360 live premium kit was clearanced at kmarts earlier, so i had them scan it while i was there. get this. $12. lower than the front page. so, just to clarify.

I am a little confused on the live deal. Did the $42 drop to $12? Post a pic maybe?
 
after reading my story, i realize it is flawed, and i am shamed. at my kmart, the old 12 month starter kit for xbox which includes pgr2 and arcade, is still 42. what has dropped to 12 bucks is the 12 month xbox live premium gold pack. this includes the headset, 20 dollar rebate (expired) on a game, bankshot billiards 2 and 200 microsoft points.

so, being new to live as i am, if i bought another one of these, am i correct in thinking that i can just keep it until my first year runs out?
 
^^^Actually, I think the codes need to be redeemed by June 2007. However, if you buy it today and activate it today, it will just get tacked onto your existing membership. That is, you'll have two years of Live already stacked up (expiring sometime in 2009).

I just did something similar stacking an old 12mo original Xbox card ($25 @ Target) and a 3mo Joust-360 card ($21 @ Target, I needed a headset), so I'm paid up through late 2008.
 
Fear scanned $49.99.

I asked if they would price match their website and they said they didn't do that.
