[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them (and they don't have restickered UPCs - see point 3 below) they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: http://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way). What we are currently missing is a good list of accessories. I have added a few that I know about. We need more info on these (and there must be more to uncover).

In general, I'm sticking with ShiningSlade's method of listing games. However, there are a few changes. Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

if the prices seems to have been working for them, then their DM/RM's probably decided to keep it at that price until further notice. they will only mark em down again if either their store or their district doesn't see any sale at all.

as for the micro. the likelyhood of that dropping again is slim, as for most kmarts they don't even have them anymore. they usually do localized mark downs anyways, but who knows.
 
I went into my local Kmart looking for a non-Platinum Hits Fight Night 360, but picked up

Black (XBX non PH) $19.99 (not a deal).
Oddworld Stranger's Wrath (XBX) $4.99 (have little interest in this, but many people seemed to like it, and it's $5.00)
SSX On Tour (XBX) $4.99 little interest, but it's $5.00
True Crime LA (XBX best of PH) $9.99 not a deal either, but I wanted to play it again.

So there's still cheap stuff out there.

If you've got a Meijers store handy, they've got Stranger's Wrath for $5 as well. Just another option to keep in mind. :)
 
Went to Kmart in Carson near the 110 freeway and found wavebirds for $18.00. The lady said that there was some new clearance stuff but did not have the list.
 
Demon Stone (XBOX) - $4.99

It has new stickers and was in a display on the counter. I noticed some of the old $14.99 "bargain" titles had $11.00 stickers.
 
I don't know what's going on with the price drops, but lately it's all just been regular ones, not the clearance type markdowns we all want.


I did finish some new PLCs yesterday with something I've been waiting for them to correct for months now- the Wii Points cards are finally down to the correct price of $19.99, instead of being $24.99.
 
I saw a copy of Demon Stone at a Best Buy while I was out of town with a friend on Weds, it was also marked $4.99 there.

However, I wouldn't buy it because it's only a 1 player title and my one buddy and I usually sit there and go through multi titles. While it is fun to offer advice to the person playing, it's more fun to be playing the game WITH them.

I don't understand WHY more RPGish games(like Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance) aren't multi player.

Oh well.....
 
Went to my local K-mart today and picked up 2 Drill Dozers for $3, 1 Ape Escape 3 for $4, and 1 Pack man game for GBA. Total =$12

The trade in value for those games was friggin $28 at my local game store. So I picked up Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (28.99 at my local place). It only cost me like $15! Woo hoo! I wish they still had shadow hearts though! Bah!

There is a new set of games on clearance as well. I think I saw FF X-2 for 17. My K-mart has most of their PS2 games on a shelf, due to limited space. So I scanned a crap load. I'm guessing another big drop in prices around July or August. Most of the games that are on clearance that I am seeing are still in the $10 range. Then we will see prices like last year.....I hope EB/GS does the trade 3 games in get $10 extra credit again.... I made $150 off that last year, lol.

I saw two copies of Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins. One had a normal $20 price sticker and an uncovered UPC, the other had the $15 front lane sticker/covered UPC. I'm thinking about getting it for $15, but I'm oh so tempted to see if the un-stickered copy drops lower.
 
I actually found a copy of Mario Power Tennis for the Gamecube for $5 today. It was the only game not marked with a price. I had been to this Kmart many times and never saw it. They must have straightened the shelves and found it among all the other games. I have been having good luck finding games that have been clearanced forever. Three weeks ago I found Advance Wars Dual Strike for the DS at another Kmart for $9. Hopefully my good luck streak continues.

Heh, I saw several copies of American Gladiators for the NES at a kmart in Wisconsin or Iowa... can't remember exactly where I was at the time. I passed as they were still marked at $30. Silly Kmart.
 
Well, I got some news. Starting tomorrow, all clearance items will be an additional 30% off. I believe this is a nationwide sale, but I really have no way to be sure. The one I work at is cleaned out, but I'm thinking of hitting another one early tomorrow to pick up some cheap games.


Also, unrelated to clearance items, but I did a new layout a few days ago for video game accessories, and the layout confirmed that new Wii Remote & Nunchuck colors(Blue & Pink) are due out in October. This is the first I'd heard about it, though I'm not sure I need any more Wii controllers.

I couldnt find if this was every for sure answered on this thread, but would the cards in the 12 month live set w/ PGR2 still work. I seem to remember some discussion about the cards expiring in June, maybe I was wrong.
 
Considering the site says "all across the store," one can only assume electronics would be included.

Unless of course they're THAT damn lazy to arrange all the games.

The Xbox 360 Live kits (12-month with Bankshot Billiards 2 and 3-month with Joust) expire end of June. I have no idea about the older Xbox Live kits meant for the original Xbox (but that apparently work on the 360). I'm guessing that since those are so old and still valid that they don't expire?

Thanks to my 2 1-year kits from Kmart ($24) and Target ($15), and a 3-month kit from Target ($7.48) I'm good on Live through August 2009 (and I still have a 1-month code from Arcade Unplugged to redeem - also expires end of June by the way).
 
I was originally told electronics were excluded, but today I was told it was every clearance item in the store except shoes(because K-Mart's shoe department is technically run by a different company) would be an extra 30% off. They definitely had me putting clearance signs up today in electronics in preparation for the sale at least.

And as far as I know, it starts tomorrow, not on the 23rd. And if a store in Washington is doing it, I would assume that's as close to confirmation of nationwide as we'll get right now, since I'm on the other side of the country.

hot damn, looks like i'll be hitting up k-mart in a few days. been some clearance-y things around $15 before that were a little much for me. tempted to get that karaoke revolution country bundle just to add another karaoke revolution to the collection. probably won't know any songs but hey, whatev. haha.
