Official LEGEND OF ZELDA: TWILIGHT PRINCESS Thread !

I have gotta say, water temples are always the low point of any zelda game. this one is not that bad, but it aint great. OoT's water temple will always be the epitomy of tedious water temple to me.

i experienced this graphical glitch where a brown thick line is attached on one of Link's foot after exiting one of the houses in the first town. this happened after the sumo tutorial. anybody else experienced this or my Wii is just f**cked up? mind you this is my 2nd copy of the game since I replaced my 1st moments ago due to this glitch hoping it would be gone.

I don't know if I'm having graphical glitch or not.

Seems whenever I use my sword to hit something and a red explosion comes from contact. However, My game freezes or lags for about half a second whenever I hit something, then resumes normality. Is this normal?

I'm playing on a 32" Olevia HDTV with component cables if that helps any.

I just want to sing my praises on this game. It's nothing super revolutionary within the game aside from the control scheme... but it's a tried and true formula of one fo the highest regarded games of all time(Ocarina of Time)...

Nintendo did a great job of putting a darker/deeper story involving the characters. I'm so glad I played through this game(as with pretty much every Zelda game I've played).

It has some of the most amazing boss fights, memorable music, and lively environments from recent game memory.

Aonuma get's my props again. One of the best sequences of ending battles in any game.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

My choice for GAME of the YEAR.

I only have one gripe. This game was too easy. It probably had the toughest lot of puzzles seen in Zelda games to date. But battle was way too easy. What's up with the final bosses hitting you and you only taking quarter heart damage? lol. But, all in all. BIG SMILES.

I'm at 10:25 and I just entered the second dungeon. Only the second dungeon!!! I also don't think I've done any "side quests" yet and I don't think I've done anything that hasn't been required to get to this point.
The fight in Hyrule Field and then on the bridge was freaking awesome. When I knocked the monster off the bridge and did a little pose on my horse with my sword in the air I couldn't help but smile. I can't believe how big and awesome this game is.

Only 2 hours in and got to the first dungeon (I assume), but turned it off since I had to get up early. The controls feel fine to me so far, but it took me awhile to get tha hang of fishing.

I've somehow kept myself from playing, except for a single one hour session. My component cables should be shipping tomorrow, and as soon as I get them and set it all up, Zelda marathon time.
I am stuck at an area after the first dungeon. Is there a way to lure the shadow creatures closer together? I'm getting frustrated :)
I’ve found that a good way to kill them is to attack all but two of them (pick two that are closest to each other). Once everyone is lying on the ground except for those last two, use your shadow attack B button thingy to get the last two. Everyone should die.

I'm pretty excited to start the water dungeon. All my friends HATED the water dungeon on OoT, but it's the only one I was able to easily get through. I don't know why, as it was the longest, and the Majora's Mask water temple kicked my ass. Ah, MM... how I love thee. I don't think any dungeon difficulty will ever top the desert temple in MM.

Thanks! I figured it out shortly after I posted. I find that a lot of times during the game so far, I am overthinking everything.

I wish I had Wii component cables.

I just broke 40 hours and beat the 6th dungeon. i have to say this was the first that kind of started irritating me. The way it's set up just asks for tedium. also:

WHAT THE fuck is up with the wind stone in the forgotten village. I had 6 more god damn moblins to kill and saw the stone so I used it. When I got done i had to kill 20 all over again. It didn't take long, but fucking god damn I hate having to do something twice because of developer oversight.

Aside from that though, god damn I love this game.

fucking nintendo, i just beat the 2nd dungeon, and tried to enter the next town, but the bridge isnt there because of a glitch. Now I have to start the whole game over again. 7 hours wasted. thanks nintendo. fucking hire some beta testers

Um... Which town were you trying to enter and from which side?
are you sure the bridge isnt just moved somewhere else? that happens sometimes.
i searched, there was no bridge, and the town was the one north of kakariko that is covered in twilight after you beat the 2nd dungeon, i dont know what its called. I already started my game over.

Castle Town? It's shaped like a square on the Hyrule Field map? If you were trying to enter from the west side (en route from Kakariko) then there is no bridge there...

You don't have to start the game over - I had the same apparent problem, but trust me, you're fine. That is supposed to happen. Think about the clues you have and go with them.

Vague Solution:
You can't get there, but you can get to Death Mountain, and find some hot things.

Absolute Solution:
Get the massive flaming rock the Gorons hurled at you and warp it into Zora's Domain similar to how you warped the bridge earlier.

In Zelda games, the shortest path between two points may be a straight line, but often it's the curvy, out-of-the-way, messed-up-path that is the only actual way to get from point A to point B.
Screw the guys who said this game has bad graphics :bs:

Okay, so it isn't exactly Gears of War, but I have an sdtv from the early 90s, wii hooked up with composite cables, and it still looks pretty freaking awesome.

I think it looks better from a style point of view than a lot of the gratuitously shiny games on the 360.
I have to agree with you there I am using composite cables right now my component comes later and I still love the graphics and the style is great i'm only at the first temple and the story is nice so far.

Midna and link are my favorite characters in this game..

you can either refill it from the guy who sold it to u, or if you are by the temple and cant get back because of fog go to the stand on the right where the bird sells potions. one of his pots has oil to fill your lantern and burn the spiderweb

i already burnt the spiderweb but when i go to the lake how do i get across the acid in human form?

you have to buy lantern oil from either the guy who sold you the lantern or the the bird deeper in the forest who sells it.

As far as the temple, just go deeper into the forest and you'll eventuall find it.

do i go through that gate that's locked or no?.. when i do all i can seem to go to is that lake filled with acid and that other way to that treasure chest at the dead end

go to the edge of the fog with your lantern out and a monkey should come up. at least I think thats how it went down. go back to the guy if you dont have any oil.

about the first temple

ok i'm with the two monkey's but how do i open that wooden gate with the chest behind it

you need the dungeons weapon/item to open the gate. come back there after you fight the mini boss. there is a pattern on the ground if you get stuck again at that point.

what to do about this crap!? me thinks my Wii is the prob.

that is weird. I havent heard anything about that. it might be your wii. or possibly just your save file. i dunno.

I just beat the shit out of Z
ant. Take That mother fucker. ZI am kinda dissapointed with hoe easy the boss fights were. I also really didn't like any of the last few dungeouns. Not fun, just annoying and tedious. But regardless, this is my favorite game of the year.

Ok, in the third temple...

I got the clawshot last night adn essentially exited and saved. I've accomplished nothing since then other than wandering around aimlessly. What should I do? ;)

I see two things that seem reasonable that I need to accomplish. One is to get water flowing the on the east side of the temple, but I can't get over there because the water sheel things block my paths coming out of the upper and lower level of the room with the staircase. The other thing to accompish is getting to the box behind the fence in the room with the huge gear with the 3 platforms rotating on it. Seeing as there's a bridge there, but sitting in the ankle-deep water I'm assuming that once more water gets in there, it'll raise that bridge up.

Any thoughts? Even just a cague idea of what room I should be in and looking for would help greatly! Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind, I think I got it. :)

I was normal Link, so I couldn't warp anything.

Which means, there was another way into the Twilight. :)

I know exactly where you were, I tried to make Epona jump that stuff. No going. ;) There another way around.

Beat the game today at 48 hours. 17 hearts. Lots of spoilers -

I really enjoyed the last 2 dungeon areas. Although smaller and much more straight forward, they had a lot of encounters that made it much more exciting than a normal dungeon.

The sky temple dungeon was great after i got the Double claw, but up until then, I really wasn't enjoying it. Phenominal boss fight though.

The ending was actually very sad. The fights vs Ganon were disappointingly easy. Midna's a true form is damn hot.

Now i have no clue what so ever as to what I'm going to play next.

newtype06, i know whats happening to your game, i just dont know how to fix it.

Whats happining is a verticy on links foot is beeing stretched across the screen untill its off the camera. I get this kind of thing in maya sometimes. Normaly its when the vertex becomes unbound to the skin and joints. However i dont know what the solution is in your case. Did you swap out the game? how about trying another game? It doesent look to be your tv at all as its a problem of the wii doing something. The tv is reading it right its just the wii is doing something fucked up. its definitly a fault of the wii. Did you try starting the game from scratch again? Deleat your saves and try again. If it presists and this is the 2nd copy you have of the game, i would return your wii.

im totally stuck on this, collecting the 3rd set of twilight insects near zora's domain. Theres a bug underneath a lying down zora that when i target only says ......... I can stand there and Z target attack, dash and do everything and nothing happens. I am just totally unlucky and screwed that somehow a bug got stuck underneath this zora or something>?

Well, I beat the 3rd dungeon last night. A question on that for you all that have beaten it already as well:
So, the boss. Was it an homage to Shadow of the Colossus, a blatant ripoff, or just a coincidence? Now to say that thrashing the wiimote into that sucker's back wasn't a lot of fun and more satisfying than SotC was, but it just made me laugh having just played SotC from start to finish a few months ago. ;)

And a little bit after the 3rd dungeon...
Master Sword. Yes.
But so help me, if they have any more puzzles like that statue one, I'm going to punch someone. That sucked a lot, and as I was tired and just wanted to be done and go to bed, I FAQed it for the first help in the game. Ah well, I've always sucked at puzzles like that, and this one was up like 12 levels in mind-bendingness.

I'm not sure if this is the one you're stuck on or not, but I think there are a few that are UP in that room, or down below. So while it looks like it's right under someone, it's actually at the same place but far above or far below them. Just a thought. Some of those last bugs were a pain. And for future reference, please you spoiler tags for your questions, prefaced by where you are in the game by dungeon number. For instance, "Between dungeon 2 and 3..." for your question above.

I'm at 11:34 and
I just found the third elder inside the Goron Temple to assemble the big key. It was late though so I stopped playing.

I am stuck on the escort mission. This is so annoying.

I don't have a problem shooting with the bow/arrow, but the targeting (while moving), with the boomerang is proving to be very frustrating.

This is tedious. The enemies are not respawing are they?
