Since the Southern CA Thread is up, I figured it might be a good idea to post a thread for the locals of the Bay Area. Maybe we can do some face-to-face trades, make posts of inventory in various local stores, post any local sales, etc.

Send me a PM and I will put your name on the list below (PM's are easier for me to keep track of everyone). I will send you a confirmation when I put your name on the list.:

If you guys are going to FanimeCon, you guys should check out the parody dubs my fiance and his friends (Studio Sokodei) make. I don't think the schedules are up yet, but I know Evangelion Redeath is always shown Friday night. I don't think you need a badge for any of the video rooms; you just need to wait in a massive line sometimes :\
Having a badge helps, though.
Only if you want to go to the dealer's room... and the masquerade... and artist's alley... and the dance... and the panels... and the concerts... :)

Hey guys, i'm thinking about switch to another ISP. What DSL or CABLE service do you use and how is it in terms of quality? I like to hear what you guys have.

I'm using Comcast at the moment, but I may switch soon.
It's not that the internet they provide is terrible, but it's getting to expensive for me to continue using their services, so I may switch soon...

Comcast. Aside from the price, nothing wrong with them. Helps that me and my roommates got a discount because one of us worked with a Comcast provider, though.

Used to have SBC, had frequent disconnects since a bunch of us shared it. Now have Comcast and works fine. Also got Comcast over DirectTV when I switched internet.

I'll be at Fanime as well.

PS. Anyone here have Virtua Tennis 3 for the PS3? Willing to trade or pay cash.

Using SBC/Yahoo because of the price and the type of speed I get. I had Comcast but I wasn't willing to spend $45.99 a month for it. I now spend about $25 and the speed is decent.

Its kinda depressing to me that Comcast and SBC/Yahoo are the only providers available in the bay area...especially since Silicone Valley is just south of us.

I get to help out one of my friends who is working there. He's a bad public speaker, so I'm gonna be filling in for him. Not much, but...actually yeah, it ain't much.

Got my GTA. Not sure how hard it is to find a limited edition, but the Circuit City in EPA had some of them left for PS3.

Hey Metaly,

Did you happen to boot up your PS3 version of GTA4 yet? I've heard of freezing issues and I was wondering if you ran into any. I have a 60 gig system and I heard it affected that system much more.

--Michael

I did, and I haven't had any issues so far even though I have a 60GB. I've heard that it could still freeze even after hours of playing though, so who knows.

i also have the 60gb ps3 from launch, played gta 4 last night for a couple of hours with no probs. My friend is having major problems with his though, poor guy the disc won't even load pass the intro. He said it worked fine with his friend's 80gb
What year did you work? I volunteered a long, long time ago (like... 2000).
since Santa Clara Convention days..... then after like "thrashed"... the con moved to SJCC.

i haven't work for fanime in 2 years now. i was part of video programming.
I forgot their rank, lol.

But it's Mustang and Hawkeye.
Ah yes, it's all coming back to me now. I liked Hawkeye, she was cool.

I always wanted to at least try working for Fanime, but the lack of a reliable mode of transportation always stopped me.
Argh.

I always have Monday off and I could've gone to this. I would've liked a copy of Okami for the Wii.

Well, I did hit up the Sunnyvale TRU and got a few things from there. Check out the TRU thread.

Oh well, I hope they do more tests. I hate missing out on swag.

--Michael
Does the Sunnyvale TRU actually have anything worthwhile? Their video game corner seems so small and I didn't see any clearance last time I was there...

When I went that day, I picked up Elite Beat Agents, Children of Mana, Yakuza, FFVII: Dirge of Cerebus and Blue Dragon. If anyone still needs a copy of Blue Dragon, just check out the All Star Pro 2K8 stacks... there should be one cleverly hidden in there. ;)

I also ended up picking up Jean D'Arc and Every Extra Extend when they had the $10 off DS/PSP game deal.

And yes, all of them were on clearance.

Man... I was seriously going to make a post last night about how hot it was, but I thought nah, maybe it'll go away. Right.

I'm sitting here at work at the neighborhood gym and its hot as fuck. All the windows and doors are open too. Its odd not too many people came in tonight. This weather gets me pumped.

Sadly some of the smell is coming in from the Jack in the Box down the street.

I go to 24 too. I just work here part time because I want a health club on my resume for my major. Its good having two gym memberships though. The sauna/steam are always packed at 24 while I get it to myself here.
How are the rest of the CAGs enjoying the weather? I love it.
Wait...weather? I haven't really been outside for a week. I have MCAT in a week. I'm so ready for the summer, though. It was perfect right around sunset in the East Bay, though. Absolutely perfect.

I thought you were stuck inside playing Rock Band the last couple days haha. At least thats what it looked like on my friends list.

Sunset was gorgeous. It was like purple/red amazingness.

Did you look at the clouds? Very nice colors during sunset... :)

Actually we've just had the Xbox on for the last 2 days. We've been playing endless setlist maybe 5-10 songs at a time and then pausing and doing other stuff. That's been my break from the monotony of studying. We're at 52/58 now. Next session should finish it.

And yeah. We actually finished a lab final tonight around 8:15 and a bunch of my friends and I from class just took a minute to enjoy the colors before leaving. The class is up at Merritt College in Oakland, which is way up in the hills, so it's got a view of everything. Sort of a calm before the storm since we have another exam tomorrow and another on Monday.

My god, I downed two bottles of orange soda in 10 minutes because I was about to pass out at work. It's criminally hot out today.

In other news, no Fanime for me this year. Boo hoo. Meh, there's always AX in LA. Yay, painfully long and hot road trip!
