Since the Southern CA Thread is up, I figured it might be a good idea to post a thread for the locals of the Bay Area. Maybe we can do some face-to-face trades, make posts of inventory in various local stores, post any local sales, etc.

Send me a PM and I will put your name on the list below (PM's are easier for me to keep track of everyone). I will send you a confirmation when I put your name on the list.:

I checked out the list and sure enough, the Gamestop I've been putting money down at is opening at midnight. I have work the next morning at 730am but I might pick it up before then. I know the Stevens Creek location is a huge place and there might be people camping. Fortunately, I'll be getting 2 copies of the Limited Edition. As for going up to the Metreon and seeing Kojima in person? I'm off that Saturday but I'll be heading down to the Central Coast for my daughter's 1st Birthday.

Did anyone go to their local Game stop and pre-order Street Fighter IV? I heard they are supposed to give a free art book out? I'm interested to see what the heck it is.

Last thing, I just got back from Delaware and besides penny guides, I didn't get to do much shopping. Which was too bad because there was a Target here I wanted to check out and see if they had all the games I wanted off the Target list.

I'm still in the need of a Gameboy Micro. Anyone in the Bay score one from Wal-Mart/Target? I'll be glad to do a deal.
Anyone want to dress up like Itagaki at the MGS4 event and yell at Kojima from the crowd?
Hahahaha.

It'll be hilarious. Maybe we can get a whole crew of Japanese dev cosplayers. Who is that one dev that wears leopard print and has a really deep tan? I'm pretty sure that guy talks shit too.

I would also like Miyamoto there to try and break up the whole altercation. Complete with 1up shirt, gray sport coat, sword, and shield.

I'll go dressed up as django and everyone will be like wtf.

Hey all, after listening to CAG Foreplay and looking in the deals it appears that Kmart has clearanced the HD DVD player to like $12. And Vision Cam bundles at $20. I'm going to check my closest one Friday and try to pick up one of each. $15 controllers are pretty enticing as well.

I was wondering if anyone looked around their Kmarts yet if they found anything? And if anyone wants to go look this weekend to try to pick me up an HD DVD player? :D

I might show up for the Kojima deal. Really not too keen on spending a whole night out there, though. The way they handled the Final Fantasy anniversary at Metreon was atrocious. I was 60th when I got there 2 hours ahead of time and by the time they started handing out tickets for the freebies (first 100) I was 98th due to cutting...and that was just 2 hours.

i'm guessing the controllers are wired?

I'd love to go to the MGS event but I'll be stuck at work :bomb:

The $15 controllers are wireless pink, blue, or halo variants.
I've been looking for a HD-Player for ever!
None in the peninsula.
The nearest KMart that I know of is in San Leandro, I'll be checking that one tomorrow around noon. I'm not sure of any other locations but depending on how much I feel like searching, I may look around more.

Dude! I might have to stop by Kmart on the way home. I kind of want 4 different color controllers. Although... getting a rechargeable battery for each one will suck. Hmm.

It's too bad they didn't do a red controller instead of pink. White/black/blue/red would be perfect for some Bomberman Live. :D

I don't wanna go over there :/
Anyways, can you check and let me know? Unless you wanna pick it up for me :)
I wonder how much shipping would be...

Oh, BTW, Redwood city is cleaned out! It has nothing!
Employee took all the HD-Drives :/

Everything! I was so mad!
A employee hoarded everything! They just stood there laughing at everyone else.
The manager doesn't even care. She's some stupid lady that angers me :/ lol.
(Long Story)

- I also did a UPC check, and nothing.

I will try to pick up extra of anything I can find. I did a location search and theres one in Hayward too, I may try there too depending on how much I feel like looking.

Well, forget that, then. Sounds like a good group of employees. Just another reason not to go to that dirty, dirty Kmart.

Thanks for the warning.

I didn't know San Leandro had a Kmart. Anyway the one in Hayward is pretty sh*tty, I've been there a few times and never found anything. Anyone try the one in Pinole? I'd like to check it out but that plaza is ghetto.

Yeah the San Leandro K-mart is pretty good, just be a good CAG and don't hoard. I didn't really find anything, but digging through piles of games is pretty amusing.
Earthquake at 2AM. After I have lunch I may go make a Kmart run. I'm pretty tired though so I might put it off to tomorrow.
I went to sleep around 3 i think, I didn't feel nothing :/
Yeah, I'm tierd. I had plans to go today...but meh.

Your PM box is full lady.

So just came back. No dice. Basically a bunch of $5 07 games and a few random $10-15 oldies. Nothing special. I left with the 360 universal remote, WWE SVR07, and NBA Street at $5 each. The guy said they had one drive for the longest time and it just recently was sold. It was fun digging through everything. I only really eyed the 360 and PSP stuff for my brother. I sorta looked at the PS2 stuff and didn't notice any noteworthy games.

The dude working was really cool and seemed like he just wanted to talk about video games all day. He had nothing next gen and asked my input. When I said I probably would pick up the MGS PS3 bundle he got so excited. He also tried to buy my Wii when I told him I had one. So San Leandro is a good location if you want to keep scanning stuff. He was totally cool with it.

As for the earthquake, you're probably too far to have felt it. IIRC you're in San Jose/South Bay area? I live in Alameda and I had a friend in Berkeley feel it.

I just looked at the Hayward one on google maps and its totally out of the way. I'm actually going to be in Hayward tomorrow for a work thing and its on the opposite side of where I am.

Its also right next to a cemetery. Better chances of having discontinued products?

Weird last time it was a girl, I'll try to see when I can go there again.

Was there really an earthquake last night?
My brother screamed at us last night that it was trembling, and I just told him to shut up and sleep!

I really thought he had gone crazy at that moment... I'm so sorry, my brother. #-o

funny i live in hayward and used to live in san leandro. Never really bother with Kmart deals as I never found anything. I already got a HD DVD from FYE deal $20. Just wish the free HD DVD would get here sooner.

DIdn't feel a thing...but then again, I'm a heavy sleeper.

Man, sometimes I hate working at CC. I have to stand by the front door all day (not the part I hate), and deal with customers who feel that they have to vent their frustrations at me personally. =/

Whats the deal of having someone stand in the front door? Do yall tackle shoplifters? You get first dibbs on deals tho.

I'm cleaning out some stuff and found this God of War cellphone/PSP strap that came with the Chains of Olympus demo. Anyone want it? Otherwise I'm just going to toss it.

Here's someone else's photo of it:

Analog nub tumor not included.

PM me.
I'm Loss Prevention, so yes, clotheslining shoplifters comes with the territory. No first dibs on deals, though. :(
Liar! You're not allowed to touch anyone! Lawsuit waiting to happen  I remember in a meeting there was a no hands rules.

I do know about how the LPs do hear everyone's grief. One of my closest friends from working at CC for two years was an LP. She knew everyone's story/dirt. I worked in Home Entertainment but when I would cover the front door occasionally, people sure liked to talk shit about the store on their way out.

Cool tidbit about working at CC - I personally sold Jason Richardson (Warriors) and Too Short (rapper) TVs. IT was funny that Too Short bought a cheap piece of shit for his friend. He did come in a Viper though.

Also in Bay Area news, there was another earthquake this morning at the exact same spot as the one on Friday according to the map. I didn't feel it this time but two earthquakes in the same spot within 4 days is very interesting.

I've met some bay area rappers, that grew up in this area,
and they are actually really nice! I was afraid I was gonna get bitch slapped, or have a bottle thrown at me, like in their music XD

Please... no Big One until I'm done with MGS4.

Don't worry. Statistically, any thrown bottles are more likely to be traveling towards the rapper.
