Since the Southern CA Thread is up, I figured it might be a good idea to post a thread for the locals of the Bay Area. Maybe we can do some face-to-face trades, make posts of inventory in various local stores, post any local sales, etc.

Send me a PM and I will put your name on the list below (PM's are easier for me to keep track of everyone). I will send you a confirmation when I put your name on the list.:

Always wanted to know that about celebrities etc.
J-Rich was cool. I didn't even realize it was him till he paid. I didn't make a big deal and then the wherehouse crew made a huge deal of how "ballin" he is and he just laughed it off. It was cool seeing him on TV right after meeting him in person. Every time he's on I could say I sold him a TV.

As for Too Short I had no idea was him. He came off as just some regular dude and it really seemed like that especially since he bought a shitty TV. I don't even know what Too Short looked like. Someone had to point it out to me saying "you know who that was?!" and then a bunch of people proceeded to take pictures with him on their cell phones. He was really cool about it.

That's cool, too bad Rich is now on the Bobcats.

Too Short buying a shitty tv for his friend  guess he's broke after paying all those hoes lol sorry just had to say that.
I'm planning to go to the Metreon this Saturday for the MGS4 signing. about what time would be a good time to start lining up?
You in SF?
I think you should go as early as you can. Big events like these can be brutal =P

From PSBlog:

SAN FRANCISCO

WHERE: PlayStation Store at Metreon
101 Fourth Street
(415) 369-6000
WHEN:
Saturday, June 14
4 pm-6 pm
TALENT APPEARING:
Mr. Hideo Kojima
Kenichiro Imaizumi - Senior Producer
Ryan Payton - Associate Producer
Yumi Kikuchi - Model

I'll hopefully get into the area between 12-1 to check out the line. If it's not huge, I'll maybe grab some lunch or something and then get in line at 2. I plan on getting in some FF3 during the wait. :)

According to the post, they'll be selling the regular edition of the game (plus the 80GB PS3 bundle) at the store. It wouldn't hurt to purchase it ahead of time, though. I hope there's a separate line for people buying the game, or else it's going to be sloooow.

hey nice to see fellow CAGer's going to the Kojima event at the Metreon... i'll be coming from San Bruno either by BART or car (haven't decided) though I'm not too keen on waiting out the whole day either, mainly because i wouldn't know what to do trying to hold my place in line for 8 or so hours. no to mention the boredom... x.x haha

but hey any word on bringing our own stuff? i'll be picking up my LE from Gamestop on Thursday that's why...

Bring a long book =P. Or some magazines. Maybe even several copies of your favorite Manga =P.

man, now i kinda dont wanna go.... i dont wanna a wait to meet a guy who seems like he doesnt want to meet me, i just read about some of the other signings

What did you read? It's a shame if Kojima isn't enthusiastic to meet people, although I've heard he's sort of the intense, eccentric type. Ryan Payton, on the other hand, should be interesting. I've been listening to the Kojima Productions Report and he sounds like a huge geek who loves the fans. I'm hoping to chat with him a bit, even if it's just to tell him to keep the show going.
Lol, What's the story behind that?
I guess they were upset to have 50 Cent playing at a rock concert.

Lol. The only thing i don't like about him, is he says he was shot 9 times, but he doesn't say , that only 2/3 hit him. ( Nevermind, Wikipidia says he was hit nine times, but mostly in his hand. )

BTW, is it only one signature per person?

I still think we need "Itagaki" to show up at the event. Maybe even get a fake Kojima. Maybe they can walk down the street holding hands.

Posting this everywhere:
IN FACT, anyone reading this, please know I'm interested!

I'm willing to pay for YOUR copy of MGS4 as well. I'll even trade an LE for it (even though you won't be able to get that signed :( ) !

Also willing to trade some classic games for it if money ain't what you're looking for.

I have all the goods... Suikoden IIs, Panzer Dragoons, etc...
If anyone would be kindly to help ;)

--

I'd drive up myself (from San Diego), but I really can't make it anymore, I have plans that I can't cancel :(

Anyways, I'll let my brother know , and i'll PM you if he does get you a copy.

I wanna go SF to meet Kojima and signed the MGS4 80GB Bundle. I'm currently living in SFV. So how long should I arrive there via 1 stop transfer via Metro Train?

Snake's Revenge.

But really... I was planning on bringing MGS1, MGS2S, my MGS3S LE box, and MGS4, just the inserts when possible. And a camera and my DS of course, but he won't be signing those. :)

Does Kojima hands feel soft? I can tell by the look of his style. One time I shook hand with the Creator of Dance Dance Revolution at E for All from last year and his hand is very soft and gentle. Sorry no offense.
lol, I think I'll bring my MGS Essentials and my MGS4 LE for him to sign. ;)
I think he's probably going to sign 1 item only. I could be wrong though.

haha you know maybe I'll bring 2 copies of MGS4 (1 for my nephew since he doesn't live around here) I'll beg him in Japanese to sign both copies lol jk
I think he's probably going to sign 1 item only. I could be wrong though.
If that's the case, I'll probably bring a friend along... ;)

yeah that would make more sense, to prevent fans from taking up all his time signing who knows how many items. Reminds me of when Nowitzki got punk'd heh

I got the impression from Ryan Payton on the podcast that you could get signatures on more than one thing, but who knows what the official, Kojima-approval-stamped policy will be. If I can only get one thing signed, I can't decide between MGS1 and MGS3S LE... hmm. Oh man, and I forgot all about the Saga DVDs.

Heh, because nobody in the Bay Area knows Japanese ;)

I was planning on bringing my own LE for him to sign too, but apparently "word on the street" is that Kojima and co. are only going to sign copies of the game / sleeves bought IN store.

for instance: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=11536394&postcount=116

which, while i can understand, sucks ass...

If I were able to go this Saturday, I would try to get my MGS4 Limited Edition copy signed (got 2, one for the autograph itself) and my old MGS1 Limited Edition box set that was released in Japan 10 years ago. I still got it with T-Shirt, dog tags, music and game and all still.

I live in Morgan Hill.
Does anyone want to pick up a copy of MGS4 on Thursday or Friday? I'm buying the PS3/ MGS bundle, but I want the special edition of the game, so I'm selling the standard version game for $55.
If anyone's interested, let me know.
Thanks.

Guy on the right is Ryan Payton, who is the assistant producer and also token white guy at Kojima Productions. I think the woman is one of the models for the Beauty and the Beast unit. It's funny that she's listed second even though nobody has any idea who she is.

Well, based on stories that the line in NYC is already 250+ people (6 hours to go!) and people are planning on showing up at 7 AM on Saturday, I am definitely not going.

You win this round, Kojima!!

oh man.... is someone live blogging this out there? I want to see how it's going down....less than a half an hour now for the East Coast till midnight

Just picked up my LE tonight over in Santa Clara. Line was rather smooth and no interruptions. I couldn't imagine the Stevens Creek location. I'm looking for a LE Strategy Guide and I think if you got the artbook along with the LE, there's a coupon for $5 off.

I'll check in the morning. I probably won't be able to play this till Saturday at the earliest.

Got mine in Berkeley tonight. They run an awfully smooth store there. Everyone was in and out extremely quickly. I moseyed in at 12:06 and was the last one. Didn't bother heading to Emeryville to get my 2nd copy since I figured they'd be closed by the time I got there. I'll get it tomorrow.

Wanted to share with the SF or close CAGS here a pretty good deal
On a Video game ban right now, so can't get this. Better reply fast.
The main things that should interest regular CAGs are the playstation, SFA 3, PE, WA, FF 7, the other games are like a bonus.
