Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Bee Movie Game and Spiderman: Web of Shadows are no longer on clearance at the Chapel Hill, OH Sears. I had them check the price today, and they were back up to retail.

Went to the Sears around the block from me (Never usually have any DEALS). Cute lady was doing inventory/adjustments. She asked me what system I was looking for. Told her :360:. She looked at her list & said that Quake Wars was $1.97. She said that they had 2 in back. I told her I'd take both.

I asked about the :360: Hard Drives and was told an employee got the last one a few weeks ago for $5.00! (Maybe they meant the memory card?) Anyway, very happy I FINALLY found a deal at that Sears! :D
 
Eastfield Mall (Springfield, MA) Sears had 1 Playstation 2 Dual Pak Memory Card (Red/Blue) for $4.97 yesterday afternoon...I left it there since I don't own a PS2 anymore....
 
Hopefully October has some new drops for games. My local sears has plenty of attractive titles sitting at 19.99 - 29.99.
 
Over the last week I've gotten the following:
:ps3: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith - $2.97
:360: Viking - $2.97
:wii: Puzzler Collection - $1.97
:wii: Naruto: Clash of the Ninja Revolution 2 - $2.97

The Sears at the burbank towncenter (in CA) has a display model left of that cheap blu-ray player mentioned earlier in the thread in case anyone locally wants it. I didn't price check it when I was there as I wanted one in a box to give my inlaws as a christmas gift. It has a clearance sign on it from july and as I've yet to find a sears in so cal with even a display besides this one, I'd bet it is marked down to the $100.
 
Just wondering.. There's a Sears "Appliances and Electronics" and a Sears "Hardware" kind of close to each other. Would the Appliances and Electronics store sell video games? I really doubt it, but I figured I'd ask if anyone has any of these around them. It's a good 40 minutes away from here so I can't drive out there for nothing :p Sorry if it's been mentioned before hehe.

I walked into one and asked for video games. I felt quite foolish.
 
The sears near me has tons of games sitting in the clearance box but they are all marked 19.99 or 29.99 should i be price checking them coz i have done that in past and more than likely it comes out same price.
 
Same for me mrman1980. I spot checked a few that are listed on the start of the thread and none of them rang up. If your store has scanners, do the UPC print out deal. Mine does not and the employees are not helpful enough or patient enough to scan stuff at the register for me - half the time when I ask they say, "priced as labeled." Regardless, pretty much everything I've tried has come up with the price as labeled, 19.99-29.99.
 
Stopped by Sears earlier today, still a bunch of live vision sets, if it drops to 2 bucks I'm gonna grab them all up as Christmas presents, and thankfully there are still 3 PS3 HDMI/USB combos there, if that drops to under 10 (rang up at 14.97 today) I'll finally be playing in HD :)

You have a ps3 and hdtv and you don't play in HD? Why?

Yah, I noticed, I have been picking up quite a few copies and sending them all to Best Buy (Ships to the exact same location as the TRU one, but no limit on how many you can trade in), I was surprised when one store randomly lowered it even more to $.47.

Live Vision Kits even now make a decentish flip. Camera and Head Set with edge gets a bit over $10, plus you have the month of live, and you can maybe even sell the Uno code (Or give it away)

Too cheap to buy an expensive hdmi cord, and don't trust the 2 dollar ones you can get online...I'm thinking about picking the cord up today, 15 for the sony brand hdmi cord and a long cord to recharge ps3 controllers isnt that bad of a deal.

It's a digital signal -- it's either on or off, it either works or it doesn't. There is no loss of signal or interference like there is with analog formats -- if either of those things happen, you won't get an image or sound at all. Cheap HDMI cables and expensive HDMI cables are exactly the same, as long as they both work. Go to the Monoprice website and get a cable for $3.50, it'll be the exact same thing.

i bought my first hdmi cable on amazon for a penny (for a 6 foot cable) + 1.99 shipping. that was awhile ago. recently i purchased 2 more for for .3 cents + 3.99 shipping and they work excellent. i think i mentioned it here before, that sony hdmi pack retailed for $80. really really insane considering you can buy them cheap.

cables are fine but not signal splitters or selectors. for that you need to get the good ones or you really get what you pay for. there are some splitters on amazon that has really really horrible reviews.

There are a few HDMI Switchers out there that are very cheap and very good...the one 3 port on Monoprice has a pretty good rep.

But the bottom line is that most consumers buy the Monster Cable snake oil, and it's continued into the digital interface cables too. It's kinda sad. It's amusing to go into BB and talk with one of the HT guys, and watch their attitude change and the topics evolve to "can you believe how much we charge for these cables? and people buy them!" and find out they buy their own personal cables from monoprice as well...
 
Yeah the margin on cables is sick. When I worked for CompUSA we got everything at cost - you could buy a $50+ cable for $2.... Meaning the mark ups were occuring at retail level not publisher/producer level for the most part. I can't imagine how any company would go under if they were working with that kind of margin.

I can't really blame ignorance when, if you go into any store, the Monster cables are literally the only ones they carry.
 
Yeah when my dad bought his new LCD tv he almost bought some ripoff "gold" HDMI cable at Best Buy. Luckily he talked to me first so I could point him to amazon.com.

I do have to admit I bought a couple of the Sony HDMI cable packs but only b/c they were marked down to like $8 at K-Mart
 
I have to agree with the others, the cheaper HDMI cables work just as well as the expensive ones. My cable company provided one when I got an HD cable box which was a name brand cable and it works just as good as the cable I bought from Amazon for well under $10.

When I went to Best Buy to buy my new TV, I saw an older couple in there. They were in there for a while trying to decide on which TV and the salesman helping them was very friendly, patient and explained everything to them. Eventually, they decided on a TV, agree to GeekSquad, etc. When they were almost ready to pay the salesman asked if they needed any cables, they said yes and bought several packs of cables (I'm not sure what they all bought, just that they ended up getting 2 or 3 different ones) When they left I went over and looked, the cable they bought was close to $100, I felt really bad for them having spent that much when it just wasn't necessary.

I bought two cables at full price. One was when I switched to HD at home and decided to get upgraded cables for my DVD player and then the other was when I needed an optical cable for my home theater. The first time I was under the understanding the more expensive the cable, the better they were, the optical cable I just went to the store and bought because I wanted to get the theater setup and the price online wasn't that much lower.
 
Of course, $15 for the 10 foot sony HDMI and a 10 foot USB cable is not really bad at all either. They will probably feel a little nicer than the monoprice cables, even if they don't really work any better.

Something tells me that the $100 cable didn't break their bank account. You need to find better things to worry about. Also, it is kind of weird for you to go around checking the price of what people buy. This may seem mean but you really need to mind your own business if what other people purchase is going to make you feel "really bad".

If you needed an Optical Cable, you should've checked my TL. I've had 2-3 of them for about 4-5 months now. They're Sony brand and were on clearance @ Kmart around the same time as the HDMI/USB pack was.

I had just bought it (my TV was going to be delivered) and I had never had a home theater setup before, so I was pretty excited to get it hooked up to see what it was like. So, I checked on Amazon, seen the prices weren't that much different and decided to run out to the store and pick them up so I didn't have to wait until they shipped and everything... Problem is, tried two different units of the set I bought and both of them had the rear speakers stop working within the first 30 days, so now I don't have any speakers setup, just using the TV speakers :cry:

It's nice knowing being a CAG doesn't limit me to just cheap games though :D

I hear there is a pretty big fan base (EOJ) since they continue to make cards for it. My cousin picked up about 4 when they were $19.99 (at various Sears and Kmarts) and flipped them all for $40 each in a week (but that was a few months ago).
 
The only problem with EOJ is that people can just print out cards and the 'eye' reads them as real cards. So you could be playing someone fairly online while they have a deck full of fake super cards.
 
Even if you decided NOT to play EOJ and instead broke the bundles up, you could get easily $10-15 or more for JUST the camera and the cards(some of which fetch a decent buck from what I've seen)are just gravy if you only paid $10 each for the bundles.

As for the Vision Cams, I've had 6 or so of them now between Kmart and Sears($4 @ Kmart, $5 @ Sears) and they come with the official MS wired headset, a free month of XBL and a download code for UNO besides the cam itself.

Oh and FYI, as of the last time I traded any in, the cam + headset bundle were getting a hair over $10.25 or so combined @ GS in CASH.
 
Picked up 360 Blacksite Area 51 for $2.97 and Blue Dragon for $10.97..then I saw a Tiger Woods and NCAA both for the 360 at $2.97 each.
 
Fake cards, That sucks. I can see that being a problem online. I guess it could be more of a drunken party game then. lol But the one thing I dont understand is which cards are good. I think the last card game I played was pokemon when they 1st came out but at least you knew what your good/rare cards were. All these cards look alike to me.

I didn't even realize that the vision camera came with a headset also. I just picked it up since it was there. and $10.25 cash isn't a bad deal at all considering it's gamestop...
 
I went looking for that elusive Eye of Judgement and Ps3eye bundle to my local Sears. No luck. =( For anyone thats interested I did find a black label copy off FF7: Crisis Core for 19.99 and a black label Kingdom Hearts 2 for the same price. This was in Socal at the Buena Park mall. I didn't want them

Mind you, that $10 something is AFTER they deduct 20% for taking CASH and adding back in the 10% for using the EDGE card, which now applies to cash trades.

They most of lowered it, the headset gets $5.25, but the Camera only gets $4.50, and thats before they take some off the top in cash.
 
That's still not too bad though. I would've probably kept all of them and just traded them here, but I still have one sitting on my TL and I haven't had any real bites on it, so I doubt I would've kept them for that long.

If it wouldn't have taken a bunch to ship them, I would've also bought up the PS2 GH:Aerosmith bundles the one Sears had. They were only $1.97 and came with a wireless guitar.

However, since GS stopped taking the guitars a while ago they weren't even a viable flip. I looked into trading them to Hollywood Video but they're picky on what they'll take and won't take too.
 
Since I don't condone printing cards, EoJ frustrates me because I can't find any Set 3 cards in B&M shops. I bet they're readily available in Japan, but I just can't find any in US B&M stores. Excluding online, has anyone found a trove of Set 2 and/or Set 3 cards in B&M shops? If so, please enlighten me!

As far as I know, they stopped making cards at Set 3. Finding ANY cards anywhere but online is difficult.

Back in March, I was able to find Set 1 boosters cheap in TRU and Set 2 in a couple Gamestops, but they were very hard to find. Most stores looked at me weird when I asked if they had any. I was only ever able to find Set 3 online. B&M card shops around me never seemed to go beyond Set 1.

I found a trove of the set 2 cards in Gamestop, but that was a couple months ago when they first lowered the price to $0.99. I have also seen set 1 cards at Target for the same price. They're located in the generic $1 card bins where the collectible cards are displayed and sold (usually near the cash registers). Never seen set 3 in any stores though...

Yes, I've seen the Set 1 booster packs on clearance at TRU, but have a lot of those cards (not close to all of them, though). I don't have a single Set 2 or 3 card, so I was hoping to find those. I can't believe it's so difficult to find them. If the internet's to be trusted, Set 3 cards were never sold in B&M shops.

Is Sony planning on releasing a Set 4?
 
They don't make Eye of Judgement cards anymore. I think it was Gamers With Jobs that interviewed a guy from Hasbro just last week.
