Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

picked up rogue galaxy for $10. That was the last copy

They also had snk vs capcom card fighter clash ds for $3.97. Already have that one though.

They had nothing else worthy to talk about.

It's probably the SAME one I bought about 6 months ago. It WAS $1.97 back when I got it, since the code was listed as 'expired', but I gave the code out to a CAG and it worked for them.

As for me, I too would like to try Shadow Of The Colossus and for $2, it's the perfect price. But unfortunately, NONE of the Sears by me have it in stock, unless they're doing like the Kmarts and stuffing their extra games in the back room.
 
some sweet deals, don't go to sears too often, but i never see anything remotely resembling a deal on 360 stuff when i do look around.
 
Colonie Center Sears -

I got a Harmony 360 Remote ! Rang up for like $31.xx. It was funny too because I had to ask the clerk to get it for me off a locking rack and when I asked him how much it was he said $99. I asked him if he could scan it just to make sure and he's like "Fine but they are $99". Then it rang up $31 and he felt meek lol.

Also got Virtua Tennis 360 for $8.xx

They had Eragon there but passed.
 
Seriously. Sears needs to throw out some more games into the clearance bin. There are a ton of games still marked $14.99 that have been there for months. Zoo Keeper DS is one that comes to mind.

its really weird how they decide their clearance. at first, i thought it was every 2 months for them to drop again. i saw the pink sticker stated October to December just a few weeks ago. but before that, i was seeing Sept to Oct then to Dec, skipping Nov. and the drops werent that great with most sears. its a mystery. its almost like walmart clearance only a tad bit faster.

anyways.. i dont really recall seeing Virtua Tennis for the Ps3 at any sears. but since the 360 had been on clearance for 2 months now im almost possitive the Ps3 version should be by now. the ps3 and wii games doesnt have any good clearances at sears :cry:.

Damn, that's above original retail. I think that's a case where management or someone upped the price (at least I hope).

Yeah, isnt it weird that $14.99 is not even good enough sometimes. We are cheapass gamers though. :)
 
I went to the Sears at Cary Towne Center in Cary, NC and picked up Kameo for $3.97 and Perfect Dark Zero and Chromehounds for $7.97. There was one more copy of Kameo that I didn't touch... so it might be there.
 
paper mario for gamecube is $11. my sears has it but of course no one wants to listen to a employee in sears.

How many of you have clearance bins and how many of you have to figure it out yourselves? My Sears doesn't have bins, I had to bring up randomly for price checks.

Haven't seen bins where I am, everything is usually stickered with the clearance price.
 
it's a shame that Sears puts absolutely no care whatsoever in actually selling games or DVD's for that matter. Their presentation is just horrible.

i go to alot of sears. some do some dont. i notice that they vary from 1 store to the next. 1 would have clearance that states $19.99 or lower but they're actually retailed at $19.99. and the others have them all the way to the corner. the ones in the corner are my fave because its barely touched and usually prices are lower than what it says on the sticker. theres one sears i went to that had a clearance bin inside the case. they had a cardboard box filled with alot of them. but after black friday all the games i left at all the sears i went to are now gone.

Exactly. If they presented themselves well, they might actually sell the stuff that we end up getting on the cheap. They also might have employees who know something about the crap they sell, and in that case, they would snatch up the good stuff before we raid and pillage them!
 
Yeah how long would games last if they were actually tagged for the correct prices?

I know with K-Mart, I always get the good finds at the stores that have everything disorganized and tagged full price. Another K-Mart I sometimes go to usually has the correct prices and stuff I had been watching is always gone by the time it gets to 75%+ off.
 
Went to Sear's tonight and had to look for a person to open the video game cabinet. It is in the back corner of my local Sear's and mostly an afterthought. I told the employee that I wanted to price check a few games. He told me that most 360 games were at least $50 to $60, but he'd scan some for me.

I got him to scan Superman Returns - $8.97, Star Trek - $7.97, and Eragon - $3.97. He said he had no idea that there were clearance games in the case.
 
Eragon for the original Xbox(not 360) gets $8 according to secondspin.com. Anyone know where we could score some copies for $3-4 each? If so, those could make almost $12 @ FYE during their 20% more trade credit deal right now.

I spotted Cars at my Sear's and on the pricing guide it says it is $0.00, which I figured meant, out of system. Do they sell you those games, like those Donkey Kong games you mentioned or refuse to sell them?

Thanks for the thread guys and gals. I just bought Superman, Star Trek, and Pimp my Ride for under $30.

I wish my local store had more to choose from, but those were the only 3 games I could find that were from this list.

as Chitown021 already mentioned they are YMMV. they're supposed to send it back to the manufacturer. which just means back to warehouse to collect dust or to be sold to a bulk buyer (i.e. like with Target selling shit to Goodwill for dirt cheap prices). but, if he ponders around long enough you should just say you found one at another sears for .97 you just didnt have time to pick it up. usually they'll say no. but just try anything to get that dollar game :)
 
You know those colored stickers SEARS puts on games? For example, Street Fighter: AC on Xbox, Rumbler Roes on PS2, etc. for $14.99 and the like? I saw the same games with the same tags in a bin at K-Mart.

phear3d, did SEARS sell them to K-Mart or something? Is that what you mean?

I've noticed the games are priced almost the same at both stores.

snk replaces the carts though, IIRC.
 
The glich only happens on the second play through, so for 3 bucks I think its still worth it. Also, my Sears has pink GBA SPs behind the glass, yet nobody ever around to check the price for me is are these 19.97 like the platinum ones listed in the OP?

I agree about the glitch. It only happens the 2nd time through so you are able to get some pretty good enjoyment out of the game, even if you have the glitched copy. My friend, who's a big time fan of the series (and a video game collector) isn't even planning on doing anything about his glitched copy.

Regarding the GBA SP's, if they are the models that have the "new, brighter screens" they probably will be a bit more expensive. I would have them scanned to check the price if I were you. It might be worth the effort of tracking down an employee.
 
Kmart WAS probably doing a lot worse than Sears, but that was back about five years ago, when they filed for bankruptcy. They ultimately had to close a lot of stores and let go of a lot of people, but they came out ok. That's how they were able to purchase Sears. They operate under Sears Holding Corp. (formerly Kmart Holding Corp.), probably because Sears is the more marketable name.
