Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

He is near the Sears I used to live near. I was watching AC4 and Warhawk like a, well hawk.

it scanned out of the system. they either they didnt have it on their inventory, or they clearanced it out. but either way, it could be worth a shot. i printed a handfull of UPCs when i went to sears yesterday and i scanned all the final fantasy games i could think of that they would have.

Get new Amor Cored: For Answers (360) New at GS for $20. Much better upgrade version :)
 
well in my sears that i work at, they have been placing a bin that has games $19.99 and below/clearance.

sadly its wide open so many dirt bag people steal the games, and leave the case

If there is something I hate it's that. I don't like when they lock the games up in a case and you have to wait 5 minutes just for them to open it up but it beats the gutted copies I find in the bins.

Who has that much guts to walk into a store with a blade and cut things open to steal the games inside and leave?
 
I found Astonisha Stories (sp?) and the case was open. I brought it to an employee and he put it under his register. On my next visit I found it back in the bin, game still in the case. Oh well I tried to be nice.

This was the same Sears that wouldn't sell my friend Dead or Alive 4 because it wasn't ringing up on the register. It would have been fine if he said that but he was all "it's defective I can't sell it." The damn thing wasn't even open and the disc wasn't loose.

I picked up Warhawk with headset for $24.97 yesterday.

I also got Zoo Keeper DS, but it was $9.99 instead of $5.97. It was with the front row cheap games, but not in the clearance bin.
 
Only the Zoo Keeper with a $14.99 price sticker on it and UPC sticker over the original UPC is on clearance, the regular one is full price at $9.99
 
Just picked up Full Auto 2 (PS3) for $3.97 at my Sears. AC4 (PS3) rang up $19.97 and DMC4 (PS3) was still $39.99

I see it all the time here too, so its pretty justified that they lock up the games. I used to see tons of GBA games that had the game missing from the inside, this was the most prevalent at Kmart. It was too easy to open the wrap and take the game out of the top since the game was right on the top for GBA games. Gamestop is 5 min from most retail stores here so I suspect those games were lifted then traded in to Gamestop. Its more difficult with DS games but people still do it.

I would rather have to chase down an employee than pick up that clearance game I have been wanting forever only to find out that there is no game in the case. Or worse yet bring home a game where the disc or cartridge is stolen, like the return clerk is going to believe me on that one. Besides locking up the games mean that less people will bother to buy them which leaves more clearance games for me to snag.
 
And on top of that, it is more likely price tags won't be updated for games in a locked case.

A K-Mart employee flat out told me that she is usually not going to tag stuff in the case but tag the stuff out of the case when we were discussing how a copy of Excite Truck tagged for $35 rang up for $5.
 
Awesome. Picked up Singstar: 80s (w/ mics) for $5 and DDRU2 (w/ pad) for $15.
The weird thing is that I was looking for the Singstar ps3 game for $10.
If only there was a positive connotation of unexpected...

Its common in the cosmetics and over the counter pharmacy section. Usually pharmacy has the most loss as people are constantly stealing otc drugs. Or any other department where there are small, tiny items that can easily be stolen. Toys usually come in oversized packaging for whats actually in the package however tons of kids just open packages and play with stuff in the store while their parents are shopping.

Almost got into a heated argument with a cashier at Sears by me yesterday. I asked him to scan a copy of Lair for PS3, and he took the game out of the case, looked at the price on the tag, and replied "It's $59.99."

I looked at the spine, which had a sticker of $24.97, and said "Why does this sticker say $24.97, then?" He said, "Oh, it's $24.97." I then asked him to physically scan it, because some stores had it for much lower.

He took it to the register, scanned it, and the price came up $19.97.:roll:

i found some ps3 singstars today but were priced at $14.97. i figured, it'll go down again. i bought 1 last friday for $9.97. its weird though, the singstar ps2 bundles are all $49.99 but none in stock.

Theft is even a problem when they have them in a glass case. A couple of months ago some guys were suspiciously hanging around the video game case for like 10 minutes. I went to grab a burger and came back 10 minutes later to see the entire 360 and ps3 sections all gone. They must have stolen like 70 to a 100 games.

I was pretty pissed as I was coming back to pick up a cheap copy of DoA4. Now my Sears have like 0 360 clearance games cause of those pricks. I guess the lesson is that thieves will find a way no matter what.

being a fellow sears eletronics employee, i know how the worker was thinking. most people are really retarded when they go to sears.

questions like
do you have the wii game?, or how much is the wii game? or do you have wii fitness? get to you.

next time say can u scan the price straight up. if they deny get a manager
 
Usually I just say sometime along these lines "Its an older title, and I remember seeing it cheaper at store X. Can you scan it to make sure?"
 
i just print the UPC.. i never bothered with them scanning the item unless the item is actually out. it saves me alot of time. i rarely get the "it says $59.99, so it should be $59.99" answers.

Where are these other Sears? The only one I know of is the one by Oak Brook. And they never have anything worthwhile. :/
 
Checked my usually dead Sears to be saddened again. The only drop was FEAR (ps3) to $19.97. I want it, but need more of a drop. Also, they have 3 FF 4 for the GBA all sealed but for $29.99
 
Fudge, they took SingStar Amped off of the website, so I can't check which local stores are likely to have it in stock.

80s isn't up there either, which is lame, because I'm all over that for $5. It took a lot of thinking and research before I decided to actually keep Amped and vol. 1 (and not trade them since the TIVs for them were both really good), and now I want to grab the rest of the series. Its pretty cool having a karaoke game that has tracks that aren't suitable instrument-wise for Rock Band or GHWT, since those exclude entire genres.

That locater isn't worth a crap anyway. I checked the availability of 2 stores in a town far from here one day and both said In Stock. Well I checked again a few days later when a trip to that city came up, both said OOS. When I got to one, they had 2! The other store had 0 though.

Singstar amped and Singstar 80's are NOT clearanced at Niagara Falls, NY Sears.

Amped disc only is still ringing up at 29.xx

Anyone wanna help a fellow CAG out?

Went to two Sears (Puente Hills and Montclair, CA) looking for DDR 1 or 2 for 360 and no luck!!! I should have got it when they went on clearance the first time for 34.99. lol. DDR 1 is 59.99 at KMART! Wtf?

Game only scanned for $39.99 for me when I bought the bundle 2 1/2 weeks ago

Well i got 2 at oakbrook, 2 at fox valley 1 at the elmhurst store 2 at the north riverside mall and my buddy grabbed one for me in Indiana somewhere. There usually in the back so you have to ask them
 
Finally! The last Sears around here that I hadn't been to had the HD-DVD drives ringing up at $4.97. Picked up 2 more for ripping MP3's
