Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

At my store 5 of the 6 electronics employees buy up the games. I asked one of them to scan Lair last week and he wouldn't scan it. Long story short he ended up talking with his manager on the phone and the manager told the employee when the games would drop. The employee told me 1/8...but I felt like he was lying to me. I went in 1/7 when they opened (just to double check) and the 1 guy that doesn't buy games was there putting stickers on the drops. He said the other guy was scheduled to work that afternoon and that he normally "Buys a lot of markdown games". :bouncy:

That figures and should of been known that employess would get first grabs even though they are not allowed technically to put stuff off to the side for themselves because customers are supposed to be first.. There is a Sears closing and they have been sitting at 25% off games for like a month now but in that period all the new release titles and current gen systems along with any worthwhile acc. have vanished so im thinking Employee discount + clearance prices must have been some good deals.. they had first dibbs on.
 
Yeah even though it takes deals away from us you can't blame the employees for snatching them up. It's the one decent perk you get working in a retail job like that where you have to deal with the idiot public all day.

Hell the only decent perk when I worked as a stockman at TRU several years ago was getting first crack at the sports figures (Starting Lineups) so I could get the good ones for my collection.

That is a perk unless you work at WM. They don't let employees have first crack at stuff...or at least back in the day they didn't.

The customers often aren't the only idiotic ones.

Actually, it might not have been the employees, since normal Joe Shmoe customers view 20-25% off games as a 'good deal' usually. I've been to enough store closing sales to know that by the time the percentages go up enough for US to consider them a good deal, there's nothing left.

Do they usually price adjust clearance items? AFAIK many retailers do not.

Also, should it be within 14 days to price adjust? I know games have to be returned within 14 days (return policy).

Nope, 30 days and only clearance apparel is excluded. Its on their website.
 
I gotta check my receipt then, to see if it's within the 30 days. If not, then I'll try a return/rebuy, then shuffle the Singstar bundle to either BBV or the local game shop down the road from me.

For $2, I can live with hanging onto the bundle, but for $10 I'd rather return the motherfucker.

Do you have the link to the part that says only clearance apparel is excluded? I want to print it out in case the store gives me grief.

Btw, I have a Sears closeby but they don't sell games. Do you think I can price adjust it there or do I have to go to a Sears that sell games?

Thanks for the price protection link. I just recalled once I was denied price protection on a clearance game. She said they wouldn't price adjust clearance item. I guess she was confused with clearance apparel. If all fails, I will just pull out the printout of that link. It has to be the original store which is pretty far away, I still have 2 weeks to do it.

I got denied too on clearance games. the manager just said no price adjustment on clearance games. Wish I had known the link. :bomb:
 
my sears' clearance section for video games got replaced by DVD and bluray after looking for a bit I found it by the register of electronic and mostly 08 sport titles for 29.99 and 1 copy of lair marked 19.97 with dec on the sticker they used to have all the clearance title mentioned in op but all gone now =( I was going to pick up warhawk but gone
 
FYI to all SD CAG's:
The Sears in Escondido had a copy of Singstar PS3 for $9.97 and about 3 of the Warhawk bundles for $16.97. They also had plenty of GBA games.

Hope you didn't open that. Sealed copies are worth $60.00 - $80.00. You can sell it and buy an open copy and still come out with $40.00+ profit in your pocket.

Wish I could get that lucky with my Sears stores, but most of them are cleaned out of any games that are worthwhile.
 
I already played it, and been wondering why it's so high in value. I'm going to flip it, along with the gripshifts.

Plenty of people go to my sears for games, but they're poorly stocked to begin with. I was really surprised to see it there.
 
I managed to get them to price adjust my copy of Singstar for PS3 today from the original $9.97 I paid down to $2.

They gave me $8.48 back($8 adjustment plus $.48 tax back), so I paid about $2.09 after all was said and done.

I then flipped the set to the local game shop for $15, so I made about $20 something on the deal.

Apparently though, the local shop is getting told to not take in too much new stuff anymore, since the owner must know we're getting it uber cheap.

Oh well, it's not like there's much left in the local stores ANYWAY, between the hoarders, myself and another CAG I know who hits them as well.

Found a 7" lcd photo frame + wipe on/wipe off message board thing for $28 (originally $170) -- not a high resolution, but it looked interesting.

The store I bought it at for $9.97 for last month still has it for $9.97 (OOS since I bought the last one) but it was on my UPC sheet and the January drops were in effect in the store.. A store that had it for $14.97 last month (never had it in stock last month), has it for $4.97 this month so it still is YMMV.

Wow, I guess I was totally off on that one. So as of the current prices, Singstar PS3 could be $1.97, $4.97, $9.97, or $14.97. Did I mention I hate YMMV pricing?
 
Yeah I have really hated the YMMV pricing, at least it seems the value UPC sticker game pricing is consistent but it is fusturating to have stuff at different prices at better stores. I guess it's better than Best Buy or Walmart though where something could be marked down to next to nothing at one store and full price at another though I guess that can apply to Sears as well. Like the 360 HD-DVD Player. I have yet to see it at any Sears but it is on my UPC sheet and it seems 50% have it at $4.97, the other 50% at full price.

Even the SixAxis has totally crazy pricing. I have yet to see any of those either since I bought 2 for $15.97 last month but it scans for $9.97 - $39.97 at different Sears.

Did you have to bring in the game and the receipt for the price adjustment or just the receipt? I hope they don't have any issue with the adjustment since there are no copies of Singstar PS3 left in stock at my Sears.

I brought the game and receipt in, since they had to scan the game, though I would guess all they'd need is the receipt since it has the barcode for the transaction and all pertinent info on it on there.

By the way Yoshi, you're saying the SixAxis is on clearance as well? I think I saw a couple at my local stores. I'd pick up a few spares if they're $10 each or for flipping on the bay.
 
Thanks IATCG, I'll give it a shot later this week. Hopefully my Sears has went through with the January markdowns. May possibly pick up Lair at that magical 6.97 pricepoint with the money saved.

Yeah but like I said pricing is really YMMV so they may not be $10 but if they are in a glass case unmarked you can probably wait and they will still be there. I watched as they dropped from $39.97 to $2x.97, $19.97 and then $15.97 and decided I wasn't willing to risk the last 2 being sold on the chance an employee realized they were on clearance.
 
Found 1 copy of warhawk w/ bluetooth headset for $15. SCORREEEE.

Also they had a copy of NFS:Most Wanted and NFS: Carbon. Are they on clearance?

The past few days I was at Sears Essentials and Sears Grand and was really impressed. They actually brought tons of staff up front to handle the checkout lines. The store was neat and organized. And they actually had stuff stocked properly. Now if only their department stores were that impressive.

I still remember when the Sears clearance thread was one of the least viewed clearance threads on CAG now it is one of the most viewed threads on CAG. No wonder it has gotten harder to find deals at Sears.
 
Wow on the singstar bundle, I bought 2 right after Christmas but already flipped them to Blockbuster so no return rebuy. If the value at BB held, thats an insane flip 1.97-->36.
 
Took the receipt for my 2 Singstar bundles back to the store last night and got it adjusted for $16 + tax back. Thanks for the heads-up.

EDIT: Also, the latest round of reported price drops has not hit my area yet. I'll check again next week.

EDIT EDIT: Yes, it was receipt only. The bundles were traded in to BBV the day after I bought them. I was actually on day 31 when I did the adjustment, but they let it slide. Glad I tried it, I almost didn't go because I was past the 30-day time period.
