Official Sears Clearance Thread II - post Sears finds/deals here

I really don't care what type of packaging my PS3 games are in as long as they are cheap! Last time I checked GH versions of certain titles were better because they include extra content. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense money-wise to go for certain types of packaging.

Yeah. But I guess it messes up the feng shui of some folks collections they have, so rather than deal with that they'll forgo buying a game or try forever to get a clear case and non GH artwork.

The Little Rock, AR store has a 50% off section now. There are only a handful of games in it. Nothing outstanding, but I was able to grab a few worthwhile titles:

:wii: Red Steel 2 w/ Wii Motion+ - $9
:ps3: LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga - $4
:ds: Animal Crossing: Wild World - $10
:ds: Brain Age 2 - $4
:ds: Crosswords DS - $4

I actually really hate the greatest hits labeling on the gamecube games, something about the yellow I guess, but other than that I don't really have an issue with different packaging for greatest hits versions of games.

a few days ago I went to pick up a couple games at the store where I've been getting games at 75% off. The manager came over to approve the transaction and claimed they were only doing 50% off. So I showed him the signs and he was livid, took the signs down, and yelled at an employee over the phone. He ended up approving the transaction but was not happy about it. I went back today and they don't even have 50% off.

I used to only want the original versions, but now GH and GOTY editions are usually better with the added content. I've traded regular versions in to get GOTY editions and saved money on the DLC. Plus it's on the disk at that point if I let a friend borrow it, he will get the full experience too.
Should we be expecting new drops tomorrow? For those of us who don't have 50% off...
Yes we should be. I'll be going in and checking everything at my store to see what's dropped. I'll update with a list when I get done. I don't work there, I'm just there a lot haha

Thanks, I for one will be looking forward to it.

Of the two Sears I (used to) regularly check, one has a useless walled-off electronics section with no price scanner; the other has a scanner, but they recently took all their clearance bins (100-200 games easily) and just moved the bins to the bottom of the glass cabinets. The fools probably haven't sold a single game since they did that. But I guess it's a good opportunity if I go in with a sheet of UPC printouts.

Ok, sorry for the delay, I was at Sears, Best Buy, and then Kmart. As of 2 PM eastern, nothing had dropped at my Sears and there aren't really any games of note that you can't get somewhere else for the same price so I won't list everything. The only two I'll list were the cheapest by far:

Lost Planet 2 Xbox 360 $5

Bratz The Movie Wii $3 something

I traded them into Best Buy as after the promo they doubled, bringing in $10 for Lost Planet 2, and $6 for Bratz. What I DID find were cameras on clearance that dropped even further:

Olympus SP 610uz $69.97
Samsung PL20 $89.97
Samsung ST65 $79.97
Samsung W200 $54.97
Kodak Easyshare Sport $54.97
Kodak Easyshare z5010 $119.97
Kodak Easyshare C1530 $59.97
Samsung F50 $114.97
Sony HDRCX 160 $227.97 !!!!!

I know it's not the Kmart thread, but I found Little League Baseball 2010 PS3 for $5, and You Don't Know Jack DS $6, flipped them to Best Buy for $7 and $5 totaling $14 and $10 after promo. That's all I have for now, I'll be going next friday to check out their list of stuff to be zeroed out as they like me so much haha. I'll recheck the games again as well

Scanned a handful of 360 stuff: 1600 points card, AllPro Football 2k8, Prince Caspian, Band Hero, UFC 2010 (the best of what's not locked up at that store) and everything rang up the price it was last month. Couldn't scan any higher cost stuff.

How much was the 1600 points card? Had no idea they were discounted.

I went to my nearby Sears and found most games still had May stickers on the case. I scanned some of them and were ringing up at sticker price.

I finally lucked out and found a manager's special at the Sears closest to me. Here's what I found

2xGolden Sun, Dark Dawn DS $1.97 each
2xImagine Babysitter DS $1.50 each
1xBayonetta 360 $1.97

They also were giving out $15 off you're purchase if you signed up for a Sears Mastercard so I picked up Pokemon Black for just under $20 since it was an even BB flip. Traded in that and the other 5 games for about $61. After the $15 off I spent about $15 out of pocket.

Went to the eastern hills mall today, Sears pretty much had no clearance and no extra % off but that wasn't my primary purpose...

OT stuff:

I wanted to get that rocketfish starter kit for the PS3 for 9.99 at best buy and I didn't want to pay shipping so I placed an order and picked it up, no problems there. Was handed a kit with a $39.99 price tag, but of course I paid 9.99 since I paid online and used store pickup. Unfortunately the only best buy that had it in stock in my area was clarence NY so I was stuck going all the way out there for it. I know I could have had it sent to another BB store but eh, I don't mind shopping in clarence, there is a lot of shopping.

Also while I was in the mall a very, very strange thing happened... I saw a hatsune miku cosplayer.... I will leave that up for discussion. If you don't know, google hatsune miku.

Did you ask her out?

Um, I am a girl, I did not speak to the person but its certainly not every day you see someone walking around the mall in a blue wig with very long ponytails. I didn't even think anyone in my area knew about that stuff.

So... did you ask her o- *shot repeatedly*

Oh... man. Saw the worse thing ever. My most stocked store, decimated. The game case barely has games, and the enormous clearance section was shrunk to one small endcap. I can't figure out what the hell happened. They're doing an additional 25% off, but given the prices, I don't think that killed all of that clearance (and not to mention the full price games that just disappeared)

A lot of store stock hit zero value, so they had to take it all to the backroom. Some stores will try to return to vendor, others will destroy/write it off. All depends on the manager.

Not as obscure but a bit stranger... I actually saw someone in a superman costume riding a unicycle in the McKinley parking lot sometime last month.

Ugh that SUCKS. I feel for you

Wow, that is really strange, something about our area maybe...Our area really needs an anime convention, I'd go to it even at my age, although most people who want to go to a convention just travel to one of the big ones.

Sounds like they had a secret fire sale. Mine had a 99 cent bin wiped out in one day. I was able to grab Gran Turismo 5 PS3 for 99 cents.
Why do I feel the need to check my store everyday just incase they do some crazy awesome sale D:
I used to feel the same way until I realized how much money I was spending in gas just to scope out any possible deals. It cancels out any discount you get from the clearance. It's easy to get excited when you see a game with a 1.97 price tag on it, but your brain never actually calculates that it cost you 21.97 to finally get it at that price.

It gets to the point where, if you aren't already at the mall, you're better off just biting the bullet and paying the $15-20 for it on Amazon.

Might head back today since my Kids seem to be up early from their naps... Haven't been in a while but my store never really did anything cool. Of course I could have just missed it if they did since many of the games seem to have disappeared.

I'm tempted to hit the further store from me soon, since they're the only one with any actual stock left after that fucking local store owner and his buddy cleared out my closest one.:bomb:

I did that for a pspgo. Thankfully though there is a Sears literally 5 minutes walking distance from my place.

Apparently my local Sears had one of those game blowouts since the last time I was there. The clearance area had half the space it used to have and I saw DJ Hero 2 Wii and Sports Champions PS3 both tagged for $1.99 with June stickers (they rung up $7.97 and had to be manually adjusted) so I am guessing a lot of other games were also marked down to that price.
My Sears was pretty picked through. I did find a Sony 2GB M2 Memory Card for $0.97 though.
I got those, but I got 3 about a month ago for $2. And one of them was ripped into and missing the card. I didn't realize until it was too late, but it doesn't matter much. Still a great deal.
Anyone been to Sears today? Since there was no price drop last week I was thinking it might happen today.
I've got work in 30 minutes, so I'll check when I get in.

Found a few PS2 titles (Guitar Hero: Van Halen, Band Hero and some Hanna Montana game) for 97 cents this week. They have no trade-in value, so I didn't buy them. All other games still had June stickers on them.

Friends and Family on Sunday.

Dude in electronics told me that my store is eventually going to phase out all games and consoles at my store. He hadn't received the e-mail from Corporate yet, but he thinks it's coming soon and the drops will start happening then.

I thought my store would be spared from the phase-out, but apparently this won't be the case.
