I remember when i got the 3ds case that was $4.97. The even check using the scanner. When I was checking out, the employee try using the ipad and it came up $49.99. He said that they were trying stop using cash wraps and that all transactions are being done on the ipad. They will have one area to do returns and accept cash. That sounds like a p.i.t.a.Regarding the iPad/iPhone stuff: I avoid it at all costs. Having it rung up through them complicates the transaction for absolutely no reason.
Not to mention price discrepancies. (There's a Band Hero kit at a Sears somewhat near me that rings up with about a $50 difference between the iPad and the actual register)
Whoever the moron was in corporate that decided to buy the iPads/iPhones to force them to use should be fired. (they are also opening new "appliance showrooms" while still in financial trouble :/ )
I am guessing consumer laws will apply here, they can't be running 2 systems like this legally. If an item is a price, then if it rings up a different price on a different system then that is just wrong in so many ways. So now being rung up on the iPad is costing me more money... to the tune of a lot more money in some cases!!! I actually feel like reporting this to my local news stations, since its obvious a lot of people are getting ripped off here. I only pay in cash so I guess my money will not be good enough for Sears soon. Electronic cards are insecure as we have seen so many times and they just come riddled with fees which cost me more money. The only way I would use electronic scanners in a store would be if someone handed me one when I walked in the door and I could go through the store and scan everything I was buying and put it into my cart, then be rung up quickly at the end.I remember when i got the 3ds case that was $4.97. What i dont like is when i found a a pny micro 8gb sd card with a tag of $6.97, but when using the scanner, it came up $3.97. I tried to show and explain to the employee that the scanner stated if a item is price incorrectly and lower then $5, then its free. Of course they did not honor it, but the manager did honor the scanner price. SaraAB! It's been awhile. Wait... so you just wanted them to give it to you for free? What i dont like is when i found a a pny micro 8gb sd card with a tag of $6.97, but when using the scanner, it came up $3.97. Holy crap that's cheap. It's too bad I already own the game digitally.Uncharted Golden Abyss $2.56

your sig is obnoxious and unintelligible and should be removed. What is all this ipad talk?! I didn't actually see how the guy rang up my Kirby game but he told me it was $50. Maybe I'll try again next time and ask them to scan it on the register.

on topic, I waited for 35 minutes while a guy used the ipad to scan 3 games. 3, as in the single digit number Three (3). And they all came up 49.99. So if you see an ipad come out, save time and money and tell them you would like it scanned from the register.
can't believe people are still finding stuff on clearance
wut da hell is a wakka flaakka flame?http://youtu.be/Okk3af9SRgk
I do to, but you i would prefer it, just encase I don't have space on my storage. To cheap to pass up.Holy crap that's cheap. It's too bad I already own the game digitally.
You do have a point, I have $5 in surprise points too, I guess if I ever see a copy I'll grab it.I do to, but you i would prefer it, just encase I don't have space on my storage. To cheap to pass up.
This was $9.9x at the store closest to me.Uncharted Golden Abyss $2.56
Some of the big box 3ds systems were down to $99.97 but they are likely out of the system or sold out at most stores now. I had a red system on my UPC sheet since I was hoping it would eventually drop to under $50 but it has been scanning as out of the system for a few months (and its not in stock near me anymore)Have there been any 3ds systems on clearance lately? Would a non XL 3ds be discounted any?
They really do have this sign, they do not honor it though (NY state definitely wouldn't like that). Its also on the self scanners when you first walk up to them, read that screen, if you can find a scanner that is working there should be a few in each store.more like- "wait...there is a sign that says if it scans less than 5 bucks its free?
wut
The self scanners are in the same system as the registers, so it would come up $49.99 there as well.i did a check on the 3ds bag that everyone seems to be finding on clearance..but i did the self price check thing and it came up 49.99...so would the register be the same?
How?RANT:
My store (not a Sears, btw) "lost" 9 Playstation 1's @ $200 each for a while. I was running the night shift at the time when we (myself or one of my team members) discovered that 3 boxes of Matchbox Jurassic Park playsets had a warehouse label that identified them as Playstation systems (packaged 3 to a case). At the distribution center someone had either stocked them wrong or the picker made a mistake. Either way the warehouse didn't catch the mistake* and shipped the wrong item. Because our exceptions had to be entered via the register system and because our registers were off-line at night, I left a note for the day shift alerting them to the error.I don't see how you could miss 6-7 3DS systems, at $180 each that is a lot of money for the company to lose on those, even more if they had them since the original $250 price of the system. I would think that it would at least show on some kind of internal document that the systems were missing or not sold since that is such a large amount of merchandise.
I worked as a warehouse picker for a big-box retailer (not Sears, though), and the job is as you described. Emphasis is placed first on meeting a certain benchmark for orders filled per hour, and second on how accurate the pickers are. This is because to determine how accurate the pickers are, boxes must be taken from the line and audited... which costs time and money. Unforunately what that does is put the pressure on the stores to catch the mis-pick once they receive the order... and as described above, that doesn't always happen either.*Warehouse pickers are typically given a shelf/bin location to pull from. They generally don't have time to match items and for the most part don't care what's in the boxes. All they care is that it's a box from the location that they were told to go to. There are more numerous ways that this mis-pick could have occurred than I care to type.

I was a stickler for accuracy; during the few weeks or so (that's all!) that a more frequent auditing system was used, I and one other picker (out of about 30) were the only ones with a 100% accuracy rate. We both also made the cut of minimum picks per hour. Meanwhile, the picker I'll call "Speed Racer" (who prided himself on filling orders the fastest) had an accuracy rate of less than 80%. When you're picking 1000 or 2000 items per shift, that's 200 to 400 mis-picks. Maybe I should call him "Meth Racer."
Guess who got off easy and was strutting around like he owned theing place? What an asshole.
Not surprised that Sears is such a mess with its neglected clearance pricing and inept stock auditing.
Cut costs too far and quality suffers, no matter *what* business you are in.
I don't think that is possible.Everything at regular price on the clearance rack at the Sears in Clackamas, Oregon. Uncharted Golden Abys was $59.99. >_<
If it makes you feel any better, your experience is not completely universal. The warehouses I've been in have stressed accuracy over speed, even when marginally so. (One of them was/is a big box store.) In fact the last warehouse I was in offered monthly prizes to the associates with the most items picked but were disqualified if they made more than 2 errors during that time.I worked as a warehouse picker for a big-box retailer (not Sears, though), and the job is as you described. why would you wanna get a lower prices when that is cheaper combine then they were selling the big box for? man i bet your the kinda guy who watches porn in reverse to watch the hooker give back the money.Hey guys, I'm new and I need some advice. I went yesterday to a Sears pretty far away that had almost no games. But they did have something good. A big box 3DS and a Super Mario 3D Land. Both rang out of the system. The manager wouldn't let me haveit for a clearance price. He said the 3DS was $75 and the Mario was $15. I want it for cheaper than that, but I bought it since I thought someone might get it if I didn't and I didn't want to spend the gas to go back some other day. How should I return and rebuy the items to get them for a good clearance price? Thanks for your help.
I saw the 360s and an original black Wii U, but didn't ask about the price. They seemed out of place so I should have had them scanned. I did pick up 3Here's a future heads up to those people that have Sears which still sell video game consoles. At my local Sears, I saw three video game consoles (an original black WIi U, a 500 GB Assassin's Creed PS3, and a Xbox 360 w/KInect) on the clearance shelf. Since clearance tags were almost list price, I asked the salesperson what the deal was. He indicated that the consoles were marked down a penny. Not sure when the next price drop is, but I'm hoping the prices will drop fast.
Well, this is certainly the most inane, ridiculous, and unreasonable post I've ever seen. Last I checked, *looks at the top of screen* the site is called Cheap Ass Gamer. If I can get the item for $40 or $50, why should I pay $76? be happy with what you got man![]()
I think what he was saying is that price is pretty darn good to begin with and the odds of you successfully getting it lower are probably not good. It's out of the system so it's going to be at the manager's discretion to give it to you lower. You also already bought it proving that you're willing to pay that price so why should they go lower and hurt their numbers? You can always ask but don't expect it.Well, this is certainly the most inane, ridiculous, and unreasonable post I've ever seen. Yes, by all means waste $20 of gas to go back and try to get another $10 off of a 3DS that you got for FAR lower than MSRP already. Come on. Think about it. Does that make ANY sense at all? You can bet it's not going to sit on the shelf for $75. The next person that comes in and asks about it is gonna buy it if you return it (and you just wasted the gas for 2 trips for nothing)...Hey guys, I'm new and I need some advice. I think what you are trying to ask is for advice on how to return and rebuy at another Sears that has a better clearance price in their system? Two things I would say about that:Hey guys, I'm new and I need some advice. I went yesterday to a Sears pretty far away that had almost no games. But they did have something good. It hit or miss a lot sears don't even have a video game section no more they gutted most of them back in 2012 and each store does there own pricing one store could be $20 then 5 miles then the road $3 then 2 miles down the road $50 for same titleSo does every store have a clearance section? Don't see one or anything at my Sears
