I've taken the FAQ from the other thread & pretty much just pasted it here without any changes made to it. You can find this FAQ at the bottom of this thread past the game list. The first list is the current game list. The second list is the original clearance list.

Consider yourself lucky if you find any titles from the second list, also most everything on the second list should be a big YMMV as most of those titles are now out of the system &/or have been pretty much bought up by everyone by now.

Alrighty then, here is the new and improved Kmart Clearance list. All titles are in alphabetical order according to their platform. The listings will be as follows: UPC - Game Title - Price.

Any game title that I've put in BOLD is missing the full 12 digit UPC & is represented with zeros. Any missing info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the prices will be listed according to info I get from inventories. However, if 3 people can confirm the same price on a certain game, then I'll change the listed price to reflect it. I'll try my best to keep this updated as much as possible.

All updates on pricing will be done as I find them and/or posts from you guys/gals. I just updated some prices for select games that I found recently. Any price that I just changed has a v next to the price. There may still be a few prices out of whack, but for the most part they're current.

Remember if you have a UPC that we need please PM me so I may update the zeroed UPC's. Thank you to everyone contributing info in this thread!

Below you will find another game list. This is the original clearance list that should mostly be YMMV by now. All prices below are the last known prices reported, but many are out of the system and will now depend on the employee you get, the tag on the game and your own negotiating skills.
I've not included UPC's, but I do have most of them & can add them later if there is enough demand for them. Good luck finding anything on this list!;)

FAQ

Q: Why was this thread created?
A: Because there are multiple threads floating around, and its useful to consolidate. THis one will have the OP constantly updates so you don't have to go digging.

Q: Are these prices YMMV?
A: No, they shouldn't be. I currently have 10 K-Marts in my shopping radius, and they've all been consistent. At one time it was thought that they were YMMV, but I'm pretty sure it was instead employee incompetence at keeping prices updated.

EDIT: Some people are reporting prices that are YMMV, but I am hesitant to mark the deal as such. If you get a different price, it seems to be the exception to the rule, not a true YMMV where it is hit or miss. I'd say these prices are 90% accurate.

Q: An employee said the price was higher than what's on the list.
A: Get the game scanned at the register.

Q: The employee got that price gun and said it was higher than what's on the list.
A: GET THE GAME SCANNED AT THE REGISTER. The gun is incorrect sometimes.

Q: Can I use the price checker thingies?
A: YES! Brilliant idea! They will give you an accurate price. Also, if you have the problem of useless employees not opening the cases for you, you can print off the UPC codes and check them at the price checker.

Q: How can I help?
A: Multiple ways:
- Get a job at K-Mart so we have an inside man
- Post the prices of the games you get
- Write down the prices of games you do not get, then post those too

Q: When are items marked down?
A: Once a month, near the middle of the month.

Q: Does this have anything to do with the weekend 50% off sales K-Mart usually runs?
A: No. While some of these games used to be on the list, this is completely seperate. None of these games are on the 50% list anymore and will not be reduced during these sales.

Q: What if I bought a game at a higher price and it gets reduced? Can I get a price adjustment or a return/rebuy?
A: Chances are VERY SLIM. K-Mart does not do price adjustments on clearance items. A return/rebuy might be possible, but most Kmarts do not employee people with the mental capacity to fully understand this concept.

Q:Can I price check the games without getting into the cases?
A: Yes, thanks to this UPC document from TimTucker. You can scan these at self scanners located in most K-Marts, but note that sometimes prices may not be accurate
Old Link: http://www.timtucker.com/games/kmart_upcs.doc
New Current Link http://www.timtucker.com/games/kmart_upcs_2.doc

Q: What if the price is higher than what's on the list?
A: Then your store has not done markdowns left. Ask them if they have any pending PCLs and perhaps they can do it for you, or just wait it out. Also, you could try a return/rebuy if you have another local store that did the drops. Use the UPC sheet to check this

Q: What if a price doesn't come up? It says "Check shelf tag for pricing".
A: This means that the game was at 90% off, and for some reason it was scheduled to be marked down further. If you have a cool employee, you can get games for cheap. If you have a game with outdated tags, you could be in for a hassle. This is similiar when Target marks things down for salvage.

Q: Are these markdowns YMMV?
A: NO. These are universal nationwide prices. If you arent getting them, its your stores problem and doesnt indicate a larger problem as a whole.

Q: How are things marked down?
A: AFAIK, it can be done manually via gun, or it can be done en masse at the register. If you want further details, we are currently looking for a CAG to take one for the team and get a job at K-Mart to infiltrate and learn their secret methods.

Q: What games will drop further?
A: As a GENERAL RULE, games at 1.00, 1.50, 2.00, 3.00, 4.00 are at 90% off AND WILL NOT DROP FURTHER. Games ending in .99 will drop 2 bucks at a time in random intervals.

Q: What do I do with all these games?
A: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/...ad.php?t=95481

I hit one last K-Mart yesterday and got some really good deals. They had some games by the counter with yellow tags and then a sign that said 50% off the lowest yellow tag price.

Zelda Minish Cap (GBA) $7.50 [marked $15]
ICO (PS2) $7.50 [marked $15]
Soul Calibur (GC) $1
Viewtiful Joe (PS2) $3.00
Freedom Fighters (XBOX) $2.00
Sly (PS2) $4.00
Sly 2 (PS2) $4.00
do pennied games ever ring up for a penny at a price scanner??
Unfortunately, no. I had Blinx scanned yesterday and it said "Price Required". The clerk just keyed in the price tag on the game ($14). I said it should be $2 and asked him to check the last price on the handheld scanner. He fiddled with it for 30 seconds and said no. This morning I didn't see that game in the store. I have a feeling he was BS'ing and keeping the game for himself :bomb:
I've never gotten any penny games at any KMart, but I've picked up quite a few $1-2 games at that location, so it was probably me. Glad to hear you got what you were looking for, BTW. :D

I agree about the employees at that store, they're all unreasonably nice (given where they work). One of the electronics employees is a middle-aged woman who said she has teenage kids with an XBox, so I was helping her pick out $2 games for her kids last time I was there. Man, was she happy. :D

You wouldn't have gotten anywhere with a manager at that store even if you had tried. I've dealt with two of them in the past, and they both just looked at the games and told the clerk to override with the sticker price.
Did you try getting the Tom Clancy 3 packs scanned? Instead of coming up $4, they came up $20... was a huge disappointment. Same with Feel The Magic, this K-Mart has about 5 copies but they come up $15 instead of $3.

But yea, thanks for the heads up... all the Mechassault 2's were gone though =/

I got my first PS2 and started on CAG back around July-August. After seeing so many wonderful game deals posted on CAG I decided to go to my nearest Kmart (several miles away) to check for PS2 clearance games. I saw absolutely no clearance games in the display... not a single PS2 title mentioned in this thread. So I asked the electronics clerk. She told me some guy comes in right after they do every "PLC" and buys every copy of every clearance game under $10 for every system, and he had just been there recently and filled up a shopping cart. She said that is why the clearance shelves were bare, and since this guy is a regular and always come in right after a PLC I'd be hard pressed beating him.

I called a different Kmart about 10 miles away in the opposite direction (a store I've never been to). I asked the electronics clerk if they had any PS2 clearance games. Well, surprise surprise... this clerk volunteered the exact same story of the same guy showing up the day after each PLC (somehow he knows exactly when the PLCs hit) and buying every cheap clearance game they have. This clerk said basically few other customers ever get their hands on any Kmart clearance games except this one guy. Even this Kmart employee had figured it out... he said "he's probably one of those Internet deal guys who sells them on eBay". That's exactly what I was thinking.

So I've now learned that I can forget about ever getting in on any of these Kmart PS2 clearance games (for myself, not for eBay or trade-ins) because I've got someone who makes a living reselling clearance games in my area (I won't say where because it's not important) who knows exactly when to go to each store and wipe them out. That's my first and probably last Kmart game experience.

This story might explain why the Sears and Target stores in my area have never had any PS2 clearance games under $10. None of the Sears or Target employees volunteered any stories about this same guy, but I don't know if that means my stores just have bad clearance selections or the employees don't know him yet. All I know is I have never found any PS2 clearance games under $10 at any stores in my area except Circuit City and Comp USA. I guess I was very lucky that somehow the PS2 clearance games back in July-August escaped the grasp of this guy. That's my story, in case anyone is interested.

Is Time Crisis: Crisis Zone /w GunCon 2 worth $6? I'm not sure. I never play a guncon game before and I heard this game sucks. I'm currently hooking up my PS2 to a LCD via component cable, and the game won't work in this setup. I still have a non-HD tube TV that I can hook it up to though.

Perhaps if I should consider ordering one of those $35(?) Guncon's that work with HDTV/LCD. Anyone has a link to that Guncon?

Its only $6...You're getting a game & a gun...If you don't like it trade it in at EB/Gamestop...They will give you $7 for it w/ out the gun...

Yeah i didn't really like Crisis Zone....Time Crisis 3 is more fun...

The Tom Clancy pack is scanning at $20 in every local KMart that has it in stock, for some reason.

Bummer about the MechAssaults - I thought I saw a big stack of them in the XBox case, but it might have been just one or two of them in front of other games, I guess.

YES!

Well I found a out of the way Big Kmart when taking a detour for a construction zone!! It has to be fate!! Well, hope springs eternal anyway. Wish me luck.

Gah, that Xbox case was a mess... I looked in there but gave up after about a minute.

The same thing happened to me last weekend. and After I had left I saw her looking at the games I found for a penny and going through the fuck -ing GBA bin. At this point im not putting to much faith in games on the list I printed for a penny..

Damn every time I look at this thread I see the best deals. If anyone can get me an eyetoy with a game (I think eyetoy play is the $3 one) new I would be willing to pay $5 plus shipping.

One thing I've found with this sale is that you need to be VERY patient. Not just in terms of waiting for a clerk to help you (which can sometimes take close to an hour), but also when looking through the games in the case. I found TONS of these $1 and $2 games because they were all the way towards the back in one row and of course not marked. Had to spend 2 hours to get them all but it was worth it :)

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but here is a very helpful tip for all you CAGers

Provided you have the UPC for a game you can call up any Kmart and ask the clerk to check the surrounding stores for inventory. I asked the lady at customer service if she could do this today and she went right into the computer and searched other stores for a few items. She warned me that it could be inaccurate and I am not sure if the search is limited to the stores district or what, but what i do know is she was using the touchscreen IBM terminal and she typed in the UPC and then touched a button, there was a pause while it searched and it showed inventory from other stores. She also told me this was a relatively new system. When I got home i called another store to see if they could do a search for me and they had no idea what i was talking about. So i guess this is YMMV. Hope this helps someone!!

Im looking for some games to buy at the price you guys mentioned, plus shipping. Just post what your selling, looking for DS/GBA and PS2. Or maybe there should be a KMART Trading/Selling topic.

I went back to the same Kmart today and the same clerk was there. He was a bit more friendly today. Unfortunately nearly all the games are in the back now(though I did find an Enter The Matrix in the new case - the case is mostly empty though). He said they are waiting until the remodeling is done before they bring most of the games back out.

Here's the good part - he said for the few days they had the games loose in the Electronics section they lost (as in someone stole) 10 games for every one they sold . Maybe he's exaggerating, I dunno, but that's pretty bad if it is anywhere close to that. No wonder he stuck to me when I was in there yesterday. I'm just glad I was able to look through some of it before they got hauled away.

He was telling me about other Kmarts in the area I could try but I don't have a rental car on this trip so I can't make it to another one. Oh well...

I gotta go clean out a couple of my local Kmarts and take those games to EB/GS while their trade 3 get $10 deal is still going on.

I didn't yet get a chance to, but I will tomorrow, report the moron at the EB at Wyoming Valley Mall for trying to charge me the refurb fee on disc only games, as my OTHER local EB/GS stores take them in no questions asked.

A bunch of my local Kmarts have MechAssault 2 and its ringing up right too. However, I tried the Moosic, PA Kmart and the Clancy Triple Pack rang up $20, so that looks to be a YMMV title that the glitch may be affecting in SOME spots.

Oh and the World Championship Poker for PS2(green cover) rang up $19.99 or so for me when I used a self check scanner.

One title I was kind of waiting for a drop universally on was Rainbow Six Lockdown, which was $15-16 last I heard. Did that drop anymore? And, hopefully to $5 or UNDER??

I went into downtown Philly to help a friend move, and figured I'd stop in at Kmart nearby.

First of all, the Frankfort Ave Kmart is the cleanest one I have ever seen, with very helpful employees.

Now.. what did I find...

First off, there was a bin on teh electronics counter with Jampacks marked 4.99. NAh, Passed.

I swaer, I didn't take everyting but I did get:

Tiger woods DS - $3.00
Tiger woods 2005 GC - $2
Mario Pinball Land GBA - $8
2x Wing Commander Prophecy GBA - $2
and...
2x GH Final Fantasy VII $14.99 each - not makred clearance but I knew well enough to check amazon on my cell phone for pricing. W00t!

Then I wnet and looked in the case. Found an employee easy enough...

FF I&2 for GBA rang up $19.99, but was marked $12 - I passed.

I did get (price as in OP)
2x Time Crisis Crisis zone w/ guncon
3x Taiko Drum Master
2x Mario PArty 6
2x Eye Toy antigrav w/ camera
2x eye toy groove w/camera

I didn't go down the list against all the games, some things were marked clereance but many were not.

I really want Minish Cap and TC3 w/gun. Anyone willing to trade either for Eye Toy w/Antigrav?

3x Taiko Drum Master
2x Mario PArty 6
2x Eye Toy antigrav w/ camera
2x eye toy groove w/camera

I didn't go down the list against all the games, some things were marked clereance but many were not.
Awesome finds. Mario Party, FFVII, Taiko, Time Crisis.. that's a great K-Mart haul.

hehehe I'll be able to TOP that, once I go back for the other 2 Donkey Kongas at the one Kmart near me that also has 3 Taikos. Of course, I could've also snagged a FFVII back when it sold for big $$$ on Ebay for $14.99 locally, but I'm truly a cheapskate and didn't think the risk was worth it.

It still sells for $70+ new on ebay, even GH, at $150 on Amazon.

I had a DK set from sears, but took it back. Marlton, NJ Sear Essentials if anyone else wants them.

Tried the eyetoy antigrav - that is a keeper, even for the novelty of it. It's better than the soccer game at the Franklin Institute. Will be great for parties and the like.

THis clearance is giving me a headache, as it seems to now be a partial YMMV and employees all have different excuses. Hit 4 NE Ohio stores tonight.

Bainbridge - pretty much cleaned out, but totally forgot to check the Crisis Zone in the glass case. D'oh!

Cleveland (Lorain Ave) :
Devil May Cry (non-gh) 5.99
NBA Street Vol 2 Xbox - $2
NCAA Football 2005 Xbox - $2
Tiger Woods 2005 Xbox - $3
March Madness 2005 Xbox - $3
Oddworld Strangers Wrath - $3 (!)
Star Wars KOTOR - $4 (Whats with the PH packaging but the case is still green?)
Mario Party E - $1.99
Cabela Big Game Hunter PS2 - $4
ESPN NBA 2K5 PS2/XBX - $1.50
Hot Shots Fore PS2 - $4
ESPN NFL 2K5 XBX - $2

Store had lots of KOTOR and sports titles left. Almost everything was marked correctly. Donkey Konga 1 w/ Bongos shelf tagged $15, rung up $25 - d'oh. They had 2 of those if anyone wants to fetch them if this "glitch" gets fixed.

Middleburg Heights:
Third Age Xbx - $2
Tiger Woods DS - $3
Metroid Prime - $3
R & C Going Commando - $4
Ridge Racer DS - $2
Budokai 2 GCN - $3
Incredibles XBX - $2
Sonic Advance 3 - $2

They had a lot of stuff in the case, none marked. Lots of Metroid Prime and Going Commando. Other stuff like F-Zero GP from thats now out of the system still marked at $7 - it'll sit there forever. Lots of other games I didn't have time to check.

Rayman DS rung up at $10 which frosted me. Strangers Wrath rung up at $15, which also frosted me. Asked cute cashier if she'd pricematch the receipt I got about an hour earlier from lorain, she called a manager. Had this lovely conversation with the not so cute manager:

Me: I'd like to see if you can PM this price.
Her: This isnt the same item
Me: Yes it is, the UPCs match
Her: What do you need another one for then?
Me: Not sure if I have to answer that, but for 3 bucks Im sure I can find something to do with an extra
Her: Oh. Well it's not 3 bucks here. The price is as marked.
Me: Well, if you look at the tag, even the tag says $9. But that's from last months pricing.
Her: Do you work for a K-Mart?
Me: No.
Her: Then what makes you think you know how our business works?
Me: Because I've been studying how the clearance works here since about January. How else would I know that stack of incorrect priced games were all cheaper?
Her: Well, then this item must have been taken off clearance.
Me: My receipt is from an hour ago. It was just fine there. From what I understand, there is a glitch where some items instead of being dropped 20% were actually marked up 20%.
Her: There's no glitch - all the games that were supposed to go down went down.
Me: Then how do you explain that game *points at tiger woods ds marked $9* dropping 20 percent while that game at the same marked price *points at feel the magic marked $9* increasing 20 percent?
Her: *scans both games and tries to do the math - I see the El Nino cloud brewing over her head* Clearance games arent uniform across Kmart stores. If one store has 20 of a game and another store has 1, the store with 20 will mark the game down further to get rid of stuff faster.
Me: Ive never encountered that before at a Kmart - interesting. But the Lorain store only had 1 Oddworld.
Her: And how do I know if that's true?
Me: Because there's only one on my damn receipt. If there was "20", I would have bought more there instead of trying to PM it here now wouldn't I?
Her: I'm not PMing. Have a nice day.

Oy Vey.

Cleveland (Broadview Rd):
Urbz Xbx - $2
THUG 2 Xbx - $2
Budokai 2 GCN - $3

Nothing else to note there, except this is the only store Ive been to where urbz and thug ring $2 instead of $10.

Will report on Canton stores tomorrow.

Dave

Sounds like you went through a lot of trouble and the manager was a jerk.

When she said:
"Her: Then what makes you think you know how our business works?"

I would have been very annoyed at that line. One thing that I can't stand is how in general (not always) is how employees think all customers are clueless when it comes to shopping and don't know anything. And if a customer acts like they are knowledgeable about something like these clearance prices, they act like you are trying to pull something.

MightySlacker, consider yourself lucky! I had several of your $2 games ring up "Regular Price" according to the guy yesterday (meaning for some reason they were out of the system already at this Kmart). Those include: Xbox Urbz, Xbox LOTR 3rd Age, Star Wars KOTOR . Many others were WAY MORE than the $2-$4 - for example, Incredibles Xbox, Oddworld, and the others I mentioned yesterday. This sale is a bit maddening, but sweet when you actually find something :D.

And YoshiFan1, I kind of had the same thing the other day with the guy informing me that after they go off clearance they go back up to full price - thus "my list was wrong".
Of course, I could've also snagged a FFVII back when it sold for big $$$ on Ebay for $14.99 locally
Yea, you've only mentioned it a few times(*cough* 50 times *cough*)

I'm shocked I found an actually knowledgeable clerk at my local Kmart the other day, one who knew about all the plc's and what should and shouldn't be on sale. However, he said they were woefully behind on the plc's, so that kind of explained the Clancy Trilogy ringing up $19.99.

And yeah, this newest clearance round seems to be moving along WAY faster than I had ever expected. Now, if only there were some 'magic' games from this round that still brought decent credit at EB/GS.

Then again, I made $65.35 off of spending $20 on 2 Clancy trip packs and 6 other assorted clearance games, none of which cost me OVER $4(not including tax).

heh, they seem to get really pissed off when you prove that you know more than they do.

I know thats how it was when I told the clerk that I knew about the donkey konga's being 5 from this site. I didn't get the chance to pick up both, but got one. But she didn't seemed pleased that I knew more about the store than she does!

I think we just need to let them know that the reason why we're buying 8 copies of some odd game is because we're taking advantage of their store and their policies. The crap don't sell at regular price so we'll wait a few years/months until its at a price we enjoy. And then trade it off to the highest bidder... Or wait for EB to have another trade in deal.

Ridge Racer DS makes good trade fodder for some new preorder game or the trade 3 and get 10 extra.

Its not our fault that they can't make a buck.

Looks like we are mirroring each other Slacker. I was at the Middleburg store last night and the Lorain Ave. store today at lunch. Good find on the Devil May Cry and Oddworld at Lorain. I was at lunch and didn't have that much time, besides, the games are triple locked in those dumb ass cases and it took the girl 5 min. to open each case. But I did snag the 2 Taiko's from there at $5 each.

As for Middleburg, I did a number on it last night, but left plenty of stuff. Mostly stuff you posted, including an F-zero GP mispriced at $3 that the cashier let me have. If you spoke to a dark red haired lady in electronics, she is a bitch. I have a family member that has been working at that store for years and she is a bitch to everyone. Lazy as shit too! But anyways, nice haul. I'll be making some trips back for some trade fodder before the weekend!

I just wish I could keep a copy of the Wiki with me for EB/GS when I go to different Kmart stores to remember which games are getting the MOST trade value. Although, the one that did get the highest trade value out of the last batch I bought was Getaway Black Monday, which grabbed $3 before bonus.

Here's a few from today all before bonus:

Xbox - Mercenaries $4 (break even)
Xbox - Simpsons Road Rage $3
Xbox - Street Fighter Anthology $7
GC - DBZ Budokai 2 $8
PS2 - Ratchet and Clank Commando $4 (even)

For those of you with a Gamerush (or if you want to trade to Blockbuster) I got $9.50 for Getaway Black Monday last week. With the $5 bonus still running at my GR that was pretty nice :D. I hope they still have that bonus when I get back. Most of the games are going to EB though - things like Enter the Matrix that don't even qualify for the GR bonus .

I think there's people that probably would of played those games. Now they have to go to Gamerush. =p
If it makes you feel any better, I ebay them instead of taking them to GR :D

Whatever happened to "the customer is always right"?
Well, I hit up my usual gold mine Kmart today while on my trip. They were in the midst of remodeling most of the store and ALL the games were either on a shelf or piled in totes (they had no case any more - they were making a new one). I got to go through all the Xbox and GC games, but the PS2 were piled in a tote and the guy asked that I not go through them as they were "in order" to go on their new shelves. Right, sure, that's why they were piled haphazardly in two GIANT totes .

Anyway, he felt the need to stand right next to me as I went through the games, even though the Electronics section has a small exit monitored by another employee. At least he scanned games for me while he did that. I found a bunch of stuff (Eye Toy Groove, Mechassault 2, things like that). However, several of them came up pretty wierd - like $10 for Xbox LOTR:ROTK. And then there were the TONS of older clearance games that were ringing up "price required". Except that's not what he told me - he said "Regular Price". So it went like this:

I show him Mechassault 2, he scans it, says "$2".
I show him Soul Calibur II PS2, he scans it, says "regular price".
I show him Prizoner of Azkabhan Xbox, he scans it, says "$10"
I show him Full Metal Alchemist PS2, he scans it, says "$3"
I show him Star Wars KOTOR Xbox, he scans it, says "regular price".
etc...

So, in fact, it is not "regular price", he doesn't know what the fucking price is. Just to test him, I threw a few regular games in and he would quote me $19.99 or $29.99, so it was only on old clearance games he would say "regular price". Then he explained to me the way (he thinks) the system works - after a while the games go off of clearance and back up to regular price. OK.... So that's why the Kmarts in Oregon gave similar games to me for $1.50 or $2, eh? One even looked up the last sale price for me. I didn't push it with him because I found so many other things, but I had to pass up several games I actually wanted for myself (as opposed to trade-in fodder).

He also said some other guy was in with a list and complained to him about the old clearance games not being what he thought they would (they were on his list I guess). Wonder if that was a CAG? This was Springfield, VA by the way.

Anyway, there were some strange flukes though. For example, KOTOR was part of the recent drop, but instead of it ringing up $4 or more, it must have come up "price reqd" as he said "regular price" on that one. There were a few other recent drops that did the same. I had only seen the opposite behavior before (where they came up MORE than I expected). On other games, such as LOTR:ROTK and Prizoner of Azkahban, they DID come up more than expected ($10). But I was able to get Metroid Prime for $2, Mechassault 2 for $2, World Tour Poker for $1, Eye Toy Groove w/camera for $3 and a few others. Oh, and Rayman for DS for $2 - thanks a ton to the guy who posted this as I read it right before I went in there!

And one more annoying thing, as me and another guy were looking through games (he didn't have a clue about the sale so I did my CAG good deed of the day and handed him a couple of $2 Xbox games :D) - the Kmart guy called someone else over to remove the PS2 totes and the large rack with most of the GC games. That left the Xbox/GBA/DS games still on the old case shelves (which were uncovered). I wonder if they removed those too later? I guess he felt unsecure with all those games sitting out (though like I said they were way in the back of the very small, nearly enclosed electronics section). They should get restocked into the new cabinets soon enough and there was still a ton there - but good luck getting to the stuff when it is locked back up again . Plus you'll end up being frustrated not being able to get the games you know are $1 or $2 (old clearance stuff). It was such a sweet thing, though, to be able to look through 10-15 deep stacks of games that were ALL different while no glass case was in the way .
I got this website from this piece of shyte. I want the administrator of this site to know that this individual has ruined any chance of obtaining additional clearanced items at our Kmart location.

This individual was extremely rude, and security warned me to keep a watchful eye out for possible theft because of his irratic/rude behavior.

Yes you, I am the foreign gentleman who helped you last night. Instead of politely inquiring with me for help, you took it upon yourself to search through everything, and tried to play games with me to see if you could get a cheaper price.

Your behavior caught the attention of our sales manager who informed me to manually go through the entire inventory of games, and ensure that any item below a certain price point, would be adjusted back to the original full price.

I was so upset with you because you bought several things that I was planning on purchasing for my children after the store closed.

I hope you are happy. The entire department has been warned by our sales manager to keep an eye out for you, and direct any questions you may have directly to his attention.

If you wanted the stuff for your children, why didn't you put it in a hold area?

Why adjust CLEARANCE items back to full price? So they can sit on the shelves for another 2 years? It's no wonder K-Mart is continually in the red... it makes sense with business practices such as these.

I mean, damn, enough with the holier than thou attitude, you work at a freaking K-Mart.

And lol at security... when I worked for the wretched company we didn't even have security most of the time, and one store that did, their LP was a 65 year old woman who weighed about 350 pounds... I don't think she was going to stop anyone.

This is the post of the century.

Wow! Peter, you and I just had a friendly conversation just last night about these games (I went in again after being there the day before) - I told you I was getting some for gifts and some to trade in to EB (I even told you about the trade 3 deal). You in fact said that you didn't know anything about games and someone gave you a PS2 for a gift and you gave it away to someone else. So the thing about getting them for your kids seems a bit off to me. Are you SURE you have the right person here?

I wasn't rude at all! I looked through the games that were sitting out in the open (presumably for sale??). You were there and scanned them for me and provided prices, then you rang me up. I thanked you for checking all the prices for me. Maybe you thought I was the guy who was in earlier with the list who gave you a hard time about the older games that went off clearance? I certainly didn't give you a hard time - I just went here to vent because at most stores they look up the last clearance price and let you get the games for that amount, not say they are back up to full price. But now I see that maybe that was prompted by SOMEONE ELSE'S rude behavior prior to my visit - that actually makes sense. I am sorry about that but it does not appear to have been a regular poster from this site - it could have been someone from another cheap deals site.

I know Target can do this but as for K-mart the manager told me they don't have that system...He seem to be honest about it & not lazy...I really want Taiko Drum Masters & missed out on all the sales from K-mart, Target, Sears, & Toys r Us...If someone can hook me up "cheaply" i would be your best friend for life or you want a certain game i can look for it & we can do a trade...

K-Mart does have that system, they can do it on their little handheld scanners, but most managers don't know shit about how to do an inventory lookup, and K-Mart dosen't train regular employees on anything other than a cash register.

I don't remember how anymore, but I know it CAN be done if you have the UPC, I used to do it often.

The problem isn't that most employees don't want to help you, it's that K-Mart's idea of training is one day on a register and then bam, onto the floor with you to figure out things for yourself.

If this really is the guy I dealt with there (and his name was Peter) he was actually very friendly to me and we had a nice conversation, so I think he has me mixed up with someone else. HOWEVER, you are right about the "hold" for his kids. Plus he told me he didn't care about games and gave away the PS2 he got for a gift. So I think he threw that part in to make us feel bad .

However, if he'd like to explain what happened with the other person who came in we'd love to hear the details. It couldn't have been me unless he just didn't like what I said about the sale there. Though even here on CAG I wasn't being mean about him - just a bit frustrated with the "Regular Price" responses for games I knew were on clearance. But it seems there was a reason to do that (if someone else was rude about it). I'm very curious to hear what he has to say about that and would welcome a friendly dialog!
