So it appears that OXM's original idea of building up OXM points to get Achievements has gone by the wayside. To replace it they've introduced an episodic "game" that allows you to explore a fictional solar system. You use the points you earn through playing the demos and watching the videos on each month's disc to pay for things within OXM: Universe.

Details are pretty scarce so far (and I haven't had time to play it yet), but the first mission involves you designing a spaceport and probe for your future explorations. Screenshots show you hiring engineers with your credits to complete work on these tasks.

Unfortunately all your previous OXM Points are erased and you will be starting fresh with this issue.

Also on this disc for free is the GRAW Chapter 2 download and some exclusive GRAW 2 gamer pics.

Demos on the disc:
Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter 2
Crackdown
Battlestations: Midway (Live Multiplayer only)
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
New Rally-X

Video Showcase:
Armored Core 4
Monster Madness

Art Galleries:
Age of Conan
GRAW 2
Frontlines: Fuel of War
Monster Madness Comic

Glad I upped my subscription then. The Elder Scrolls content in a previous month and this kind of stuff make it worth it. The magazine doesn't do it for me, but I'll always take free stuff. I'm still hoping maybe the Halo beta could show up on a disc down the road, but I doubt it.

I believe all the demos are stuff you can download. I received my magazine a few days ago, but have yet to play with it. I'll download the GRAW content though, that's nice (too bad it will probably be dead with GRAW2 out).

I know two XBLA demos are on there and I totally forget the REAL demos. Someone will know.

I enjoy the mag for some bathroom reading. They have some decent stuff sometimes....they REALLY loved Guitar Hero II as they gave it a 9.5 out of 10 ALREADY.

Sometimes they have demos that aren't on Live. The only one that comes to mind right now is Superman (and maybe Cars?). I subscribed because of the Oblivion issue, and now I'm even happier I did even though last month's disc sucked (XBLA demos, wtf?)

I know they had exclusive stuff (Eragon)....I think this month was all available stuff though. GRAW2 was one of them I believe.
Thanks for the update Shipwreck, sounds interesting enough, any cool demo's on the disk?
Updated the OP with the demos on the disc.

No kidding. There's some DLC that I want to get, but hold off because I know there will probably be a price cut (GRAW2) or I'll wait until they release all the DLC for a game before buying any of it (Oblivion). I'm glad I held off on the Oblivion DLC and even happier that I didn't want to pay for the GRAW2 DLC.

Can't wait to get my new issue! These DLC releases as well as the exclusive Gamerpics are the reason why I renewed my subscription. And the small fact that when I'm on the bus or road, I like to read about games since I'm always thinking about them anyways.

Edit: Now that I see what demos are on the disc, it reminds me of another reason why I renewed my subscription. Sometimes I really like a demo and don't want to delete it so I'll keep it until the OXM disc with the demo comes and then delete it. My HD is usually full so the discs allow me to delete demos yet still play them whenever I want without having to re-download them.

Now I can finally delete the Battlestations: Midway and GRAW demo. Yay! I really needed the space on my HD for other DLC.

superman, cars, and eragon are/were on the marketplace. why they left, i have no idea, but there they were. usually, oxm sub's get demo's first, but not only

Well I built a space station and a probe so hopefully whatever they're goin for in this new game I'll get something. I've been a OXM member for a few months now and Im glad we're getting free stuff since I'm paying for the disc lol. I finally got to play Crackdown and GRAW2 content, internet ISP keeps track how much I download so I can't spend 1 gig for a demo. This disc really didn't have a whole lot more than others but its interesting where they're going to go with the new OXM:Universe.

Yeah, I'm a little intrigued by this episodic content idea. As long as it's something at least somewhat interesting, it gives me another reason to look forward to getting the magazine every month.

Shit, I'll buy it for the GRAW content. I didn't plan on buying the chapter 2 stuff but since they're throwing in a magazine and other demos, I'm down.

Just for those who were curious about the free DLC, apparently last month gave you 2 Oblivion items(300 MS points total) and this month GRAW chp 2(600 MS points).

I dont know if im sold on a subscription yet but im gonna look to see if i can borrow the disc from a friend.
Any word if the episodic content gives you Achievements?
The article doesn't mention anything about it.

It would certainly be nice though.

Which Oblivion items?

Goddamn. I want free Oblivion stuff!

The Thieves Den and Wizard's Tower quests.

This could have easily been missed but on the OXM Rumor mole section, on the bottom captions of the page, it says that Crysis and Spore are going to be appearing on our beloved white box.

I heard about Crysis and Quake Wars but didn't know Spore was coming to the 360, thats awesome!

Okay I got the demo disc, loaded up the DLC stuff for GRAW Chpt 2 but I don't see how to play it. When I load up my GRAW, nothing comes up on the menu or anything mentioning new missions. Am I missing something? Is there something else I'm supposed to do after I download it from the disc?

Well last time I popped in the disc it didn't work so I sent in a request to get another one. Finally arrived today and I'm checkin it out now.
