14 Jun '14 You unlocked Tightening the Noose in MURDERED: SOUL SUSPECT™ £0.50

They fixed that WITHOUT contacting support. WTF?
Yeah, I noticed mine was fixed today too. I wonder if they got a ton of emails about it so they went in and fixed it. They never went back and fixed the Goat one that glitched.

My rewards haven't tracked since the duplication glitch. I have about 20+ rewards that should have posted and they haven't. They tracked to my recent activity but have not showed up in my rewards. I dread starting another ticket the last one took over a month to get resolved.
Weirdly enough, I checked my account this morning and all my rewards/first plays from last night already tracked and credited correctly. Sometimes it feels like it's a ferris wheel and they rotate which accounts are going to be tracked right for a few days, then they get sent to the bottom again while the next batch of accounts gets their credits tracked.

Also, I think someone already mentioned this, but Woodle Tree really sucks. It wouldn't be as horrible if they had a good camera system, but the camera system is probably the worst I've ever played. I was trying to at least unlock both of the leaf rewards, but after dying over and over on level 4 due to the camera system, I just gave up.

Another thing someone mentioned, The Pit is really fun. I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but I did end up enjoying it, so much so that I played a little more after unlocking Uncroyable. Idiotekque read up on it and you can only unlock the Epic Meal Time achieevo if you have the Mind Games DLC I think.

Aliens was pretty frustrating just because I died multiple times on the easiest setting on the first stage. I'm not usually that bad at FPS. The starter rifle feels like a pellet gun.

Sugar Cube Bittersweet Factory I did not like much. Just a gimmicky platformer I'm not likely to play again.

Cargo Commander I have mixed feelings about it. I heard it get a lot of praise around here so I was hoping to like it more than I actually did, but it wasn't a bad game.

Fixed some parser bugs so here's more accurate. There was some duplicates, mainly from special.

Still misses few first batches that aren't in automatically parseable format (was random forum posts for short time). Also moved from double to integer but this shouldn't affect very much (+- cent, but of course it carriers over when summing).

I think there's still bug of sometimes Wolfenstein rewards gets added to Wolfenstein 3D (because they are on multiple times, this causes it to be duplicated)

Total Rewards £626.95

Total Unique Rewards (max) £563.40 (Theoretically what you could've earned, of course there's some that blocks other, eg. story related achievements)

Total Unique Rewards (min) £548.70

Top games

Rush Bros is pretty high. Castlevania should be at 5 and has double parsed rewards because there's pages with different end times, one minute apart (end time is used as key eliminating doubles).

Also, my goodness does Flashout 2 suck.  I didn't realize I had it otherwise I would have tried to play it during the time the achievments were bugged.  The tutorial stinks, the entire game is almost unplayable.

My biggest issue with it is that it just gets so damn repetitive. Not a whole lot of variety to the gameplay or environments. It started off really fun for the first few hours but eventually turns into too much of a grind if you have any desire to reach the end of the main story mode. The game certainly has its moments but its biggest flaws are too glaring to ignore.

Here's the complete list of games I got free from Playfire/GMG since the Rewards system started, btw. I haven't bought anything with real money from GMG since the end of December except for $2 that went to DMC4 since that was a good deal and I was a bit short on credit at the time:

Dead Space 2 (NA)

Avencast: Rise of the Mage Promo

Painkiller: Black Edition

Super Sanctum TD Promo

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim® Legendary Edition

The Banner Saga

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified (NA)

The Darkness II

BioShock 2: Minerva’s Den

Disciples 3: Reincarnation

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

Doom® 3 BFG Edition

Hunted: The Demons Forge

Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise

Millennium: A New Hope

Rush Bros. Promo

Rush Bros.

Shadowrun Returns

Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall DLC

Devil May Cry 4

Avencast: Rise of the Mage

Cargo! The Quest for Gravity

Post Apocalyptic Mayhem

Rush Bros.

You guys may recall that I bought Rush Bros with credit for the $9 or whatever right before the giveaway. I didn't post it, but I'd emailed GMG and they did end up giving me a refund on that credit.

Total credit used for the above list: $106.51. Which is odd, to be honest, because the Playfire page (back when it was showing a correct "earned to date" value) put me quite a bit above that. Granted I just had $19.50 wiped out, but I thought I'd been at $130+ even before that. Despite being lower than I'd thought, it was a good run and I think I got a lot of value out of my credits since (aside from Shadowrun + Dragonfall) I got everything at a significant discount even before you consider I was spending free money on the games.
Reported for excessive gloating

These are pretty easy & fast: F2P game.

  • Reversion - The Escape - unlock Sweet Dreams - £0.10
  • Reversion - The Escape - unlock Funny Man - £0.25
Search the cabinet in first room and look at jars then ask doctor what it's used for. Fill syringe with it.

Talk to guard (I need to go out -> I'm sick...) use it to guard. While you are at toilet look at each graffiti on wall.

You seem to continue to be in denial about the fact that someone is reporting people on CAG, and only people on CAG because I've yet to see anyone on any other site report getting banned by them. Certainly not at the number that it's been happening here, including some quiet and obscure posters. Also Bruticus was explicitly told that someone personally reported him.

You keep repeating that it's automated possibly based on prerequisites and I keep telling you that some who were banned, like myself, had all the pre-requisites (and yes I spent way too much time and effort checking on that and also idled for play time and spread out when I got the achievements so I didn't hit them all at the same time) so that isn't it. I don't even think they have their shit together enough or care enough to spend the time and effort to come up with some program to check like that but if you want to keep living in a fantasy that there isn't someone here telling on people then go ahead.

I'm really not sure what part of someone(s) on CAG is reporting other people on CAG you aren't getting.
Maybe the fact that I know a couple of people not on CAG that got banned, one of which was the person I described who got the exact same email from the exact same CSR rep that emailed me about it?

I'm not denying that some people got canned for this reason, but I do believe that they have started some form of automated checking and that it's starting to catch people.

So I'm curious now how they're flagging people who are SAMing. The only sensible approach IMO is to use prerequisite rewards. For example if they have a reward for the "You reached level 20!" achievement in Borderlands 2, then it should check for whether they got the "You reached level 10!" achievement before giving out that reward. Granted you could still end up with false hits in the case of achievements not triggering correctly, but that's going to very rare. This would not catch people who just unlock all rewards at once, obviously, but somebody going in and just cherry-picking the Rewards achievements could be caught pretty easily. That's my guess on how I got caught as the last few days I've cherry-picked, whereas for a number of times other people were caught (and I wasn't) I'd just unlocked all.

Short of that, I can't see any way for them to automatically catch this kind of behavior since there's no way to differentiate between SAM and offline play as far as playtime goes. It'd be interesting if Steam tracked playtime in offline mode, and that would be a valid way to check for SAMing if Steam started doing that, but currently there's nothing like that in place.
I'd say another coupla possible ways that they could see people cheating are:

  • removing and then re-achieving achievements.
  • Having too many rare achievements. If someone has too many rare achievement rewards that could possibly flag someone to take a closer look.
  • Length of playtime required for some rewards. If playtime is below a certain amount it may flag someone to take a closer look.

The third one is easy as well.

About 2/3 of the way through you'll find yourself in a supply closet. In the bottom-right corner of the screen there's a rat hiding in the shadows. All you have to do is talk to it.

Without a guide you can make it through this first chapter of the game in about 40 minutes. The puzzles are pretty decent for a point-and-click game, but man, that voice acting...

Pretty much my thoughts exactly on all of these. It feels weird agreeing with someone so much on the internet, I think something may be wrong with me.

Offline play skews the time, though, which is why I went into that. Somebody can have hundred of offline hours in a game and sync their trophies at the end. They'll look like they had 1 minute of play.

Maybe the snitch decided to stalk your friends and report them too.

Only pirates play offline.

Yeah, that's what happened to me.

40 minutes? You are doing it wrong. 7 minutes for .95 foreigner dollars: youtube video from some random dude Tip: don't walk away to grab some food then come back and play the video from where you thought you were. If you talk to the guards out of order you get stuck in a loop and have to start over. Tip 2: the game had cards, so don't bother idling.

Just saw this. It's pretty fucking funny. So many pierats.

More pieratical activity with the Flashout 2 game. Despite the fact that the Rocketman achievement seems to be bugged (I've played the game a bunch tonight and the counter on the achievement is still 0/50). 20.93% of people who own the game have this achievement.

I enjoyed the game and will probably revisit it when they fix more bugs with it. It's a Wipeout clone, and I loved Wipeout and Wipeout 2 on the PS.

If you launched game near release it would automatically unlock most of achievements without doing anything.

Including all reward achievements.

Yup, I got banned from Playfire. It was a given considering I used Sam for everything. Probably just going to make another account on a proxy cuz fuq da poleece.

They IP ban you? You'd probably just be able to make a new Playfire and Steam account. What would the point of a proxy be?

They don't IP ban. Just clear out all your Playfire cookies and it'll work just fine.

Having said that, making another account doesn't do you any good unless you have a 2nd Steam account to use it with (pointless outside of free games, though.) If you try to make a new Playfire account and then add the same Steam account you were using, you'll get an error stating that Steam account is already tied to another Playfire account.

Family Sharing doesn't work either--the rewards just won't be detected by your Playfire account, since the Steam games are still tied to the main account, not the account you're sharing to.

Source: I tried it earlier today.

Yeah, the other two things would be much more damning ...

21.6%
It's pretty safe to assume that all 21.6% are pirates. No sane person would grind for that achievement.

That makes two games given away by WGN with a 21% pirating rate. I'm not going to say it's a den of high sea villainy but that's quite a coincidence.

I beat the whole game in about an hour and didn't even have 800 berries, so I have to wonder why the dev thinks anybody would bother grinding for 1,000 let alone 3,000. But yeah, pretty funny stats there - at least most of those scurvy dogs were smart enough to check off the prerequisite achievements.

The dev either didn't know any better, or is planning on adding enough levels that people would eventually hit those milestones.

So people who are willing to sell their integrity for free stuff, are willing to sell their integrity for free stuff.

Cargo Commander confuses the crap outta me. Cool game though.

The first two achievements are crazy easy. Just boot up the game, then proceed to swear like a sailor by pressing F 100 times. Once you've got all the fucks out, finish the first tutorial level. That will give you both the 10p and 25p reward achievements (you only get the swearing one once you finish the level).

As for the 50p one? It seems ridiculous. You have to buy EVERY upgrade via the upgrade table. This takes a fuckton of money, which you come by rather slowly. Also I believe you have to find EVERY weapon type, upgrade it to max, then go and find a new weapon, switch to that one, fully upgrade it, and repeat till all of them are maxed out (including your armor, boots, tools, etc). Apparently this is easier on "journey" mode, but I have no idea how to choose journey mode, and even then, that mode is just better for it because everything takes longer in it or something.

All in all, the 50p one sounds like it isn't worth the effort. Onto the next game!

Anyone needing the acheevos for Woodle Tree, check this video out:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RKKArhlQVQ

JT23/Rager linked me to it.  Basically the game is glitched and if you complete the first level with 100+ berries then go back into the hut, enter the same level and then use the exit/back to main menu button (it was select on my DS3) BEFORE you collect any berries (it works even as the camera is zooming in on you) the game automatically adds the number of berries you got on your previous play through.  In my case it was 105 berries added everytime I did it and 30 times of doing it was a chore, but still way easy to get the achievements that way.

I'm glad I'm not obsessed with playfire, so I don't have to play crappy games for credit. Flashout 2 and Woodle Tree? Really? C'mon guys.
