[PC] The Indie Gala Thread

Of the 30 bundles this year that have had a Happy Hour*, I have hosted 24 of them, and am set to host Friday 31 and Breakout.

As for the other six bundles... I received less interest in those bundles (combined) than in Hump Day 18.

*That I am aware of, not including any Sexy bundles or similar.

I just have to comment on just what an amazing customer service department Indiegala has. I have been buying game bundles for a couple of years now and as I am sure most bundle buyer's know, you wind up with doubles for a lot of games as many of the bundles you wind up buying might have 1 or 2 games that you already own. Well, I kept all those extra keys written down on a textedit document on my Macbook Pro. I had well over 250+ keys that were extras and I was planning on giving them to my nephew. I just hadn't gotten around to doing so yet. Sadly, my computer got hacked and someone stole and redeemed all of my extra keys. Needless to say I am now using a firewall and keeping all of my text documents encrypted on my computer. Lesson learned!!

Anyways, I contacted all of the various companies that the stolen keys were issued from (Humble Bundle, IndieGala, Groupees, etc.) and listed all the keys that were stolen and asked if there was anything they could do. I stated it would be great if they could replace the keys, but I would be content just with them deactiving those games from the guy's account who hacked my computer. I had his email address since it shows right on Indiegala that certain keys were redeemed by a particular email address. I got emails from Humble Bundle and Groupee's saying there was nothing they could do, but a CS rep from Indie Gala got back with me and he told me to give him a couple days to look into it. I got an email from him like 4 days later and it had replacement keys for all of the games that had gotten stolen from my IndieGala account. It wound up being 96 keys in total. I immeditaly emailed them over to my nephew and he redeemed all of them without issue. I am now sending over my extra keys to him as soon as I get them, so somthing like that can never happen again.

I was literally blown away. Honestly, I was just hoping that they could deactivate the keys from the guys account and since Humble Bundle and Groupee's had already told me there was nothing they could do, I really didn't have high expectations for Indiegale. The fact that they replaced each and every key that was stolen was just amazing. I was literally in awe. So just a huge shout out to Indiegala's customer service department. In my opinion, customer service is the single most important aspect to a business and Indigale certainly didn't disappoint in this regard. Its just so nice to see that level of customer service in the world today.

I am now a IndieGala customer for life!!

Sooo.. no one's hosting Daedalic Mega Bundle eh?

huh?

Drabes has a point that we probably shouldn't bombard the guy and completely burn him out, but even so there are other places to look if someone is not hosting the bundle you want here. If Maneuluis is not taking more people into his group right now then the obvious other place to start is the Group Buys group on Steam.

I'm sure if Det or Blade were hosting a bundle they would announce it. If they don't you can assume not.

This isn't the olden days when Indie Gala wasn't doing a katrillion bundles and CheapLikeaFox hosted every bundle like clockwork. Sometimes you need to go outside of CAG to get in on a happy hour now and no amount of asking or lamenting here is going to change that.

There are a lot of hosts on Group Buys, there's even 1 or 2 american hosts (Rat A Tat being one of them).

Groupees not doing shit to help is predictable, but I'm surprised Humble didn't. I've heard several cases of Humble revoking and replacing keys when reporting them stolen, not sure why they didn't help you.

New IG Monday is live. Again, nothing stands out and there's 4 repeats in it (3 of which I own). Was almost tempted by the anime pics, but then I looked at the store pages for the Heartomics games and couldn't figure WTF you do in them. I do kind of want Expander (which was bundled a few times), but I'll wait till it ends up on tremor.

Looks like I'll be sticking to the IG Friday/Hump day bundles

EDIT: Ok, there're 5 repeats, didn't realize Yet Another World was in some shitty Cubic bundle

No clue. This is the first time, and hopefully the last time, I have had any experience with matters like this and I have purchased a crapload of bundles from Humble Bundle and almost always go with the highest tier available. I was also very friendly and was just asking if there was anything they could do. Its not like I emailed them demanding replacement keys. Again, I basically just asked if there was anything they could do and while it would have been great to get replacement keys, I would have been 100% content with them just deactivating the games from the guys account who hacked my computer. IndieGala was the only one that was wlling to help.

^That sucks. Someone hacked my groupees account or something, because I had a few keys that were already used. I emailed them about it and they revoked and reissued the keys, it was only like 2 or 3 keys though.

If you want to know whether I'm hosting a bundle, and I haven't posted about it, ask. I do host most bundles, but don't post about every one of them.

There's plenty of times lately where I see people going 'Is anyone hosting bundle X'? and then it's just crickets. I'm just telling them to look elsewhere if there's no response.

If you want to host here and aren't going to do every bundle you're probably better off starting a thread in Trading forum where the cess pool sits or even starting a Steam group like Manueluis.

It's just easier if you put the information out there and then people can see what you are and aren't hosting and reserve rather than have to ask every time here.

Your opinion is based on the extremely flawed assumption that the average CAG actually reads shit.

A couple of those look okay -- FranknJohn looks sufficiently weird and action-ey. I'm not a fan of listing soundtracks as "games" though. Not terrible, but not inspiring, which seems to be a Gala theme, of late.

I do have 4 of these (Morphine, Princess, Death Ray, HackSlashLoot)....not amazing though I do like the visual novels. BTW I really disliked Hack, Slash, Loot....just not a good game IMHO after playing it for like 2 or 3 hours a few months ago. I may go for this...

I wish they'd just keep their $1 tier-o-repeats and sell me the second tier for a buck less.
