[PC] The Indie Gala Thread

Nitro actually gave that Anal Tranny game to me, and I played it for about ten minutes (scat filter ON). I guess static pictures with cutesy Asian girl voices saying dirty things does it for some people, but it was boring to me. Just randomness and bad writing. The only other one I've played is Saya no Uta, which was creepy enough with an interesting enough story to make me get about halfway through. Kiddie stuff turned me off, and even moreso when they reveal the twist...

It's funny how much these "games" go for when there are some genuinely good indie games that get bundled left and right that we barely pay $1 for. Damn weebs are skewing game sales so much that I'd rather churn out shitty (pun intended) fantasy hentai visual novels and sell them at a premium than work on something good.

Well duh, the reason you didn't like it was because you played with the Scat filter on. Turn if off and let the kuso flow and then the real fun begins.

I swear, at this point it's almost starting to feel like Indie Gala is purposely TRYING to piss me off.

I figured, well, this sale won't go on forever. I probably should pick up a $2 game or something to get a copy of Bedlam and maybe a key I don't have. So I decided to get Raiden III. Yeah, it's probaby a meh port anyways but $2.50 for it, Bedlam and maybe a third game doesn't seem bad.

So I put in my order, get my keys and try to activate it. And am told the key has already been used.

Get your shit together, damn it.

We had our shit together, but someone turned off the scat filter.

these things are dirt cheap in the land of Rising Sun. They become a premium in the West because of otaku and weeaboo who are willing to pay through the nose for them.

p.s. Umihara Kawase Trilogy look like Jpn indie junk but HB is ran out of keys at $30. :whistle2:

Cook, Serve, Delicious is a fun game but it one of the few games where I much prefer it on mobile due to touch controls compared to PC

LOL @ the people who paid $90 for Planetary Annihilation while it was in early access.
They really fucked those people over. And that would be their most loyal fan base too.

6 new games in there for me. Still not sure as I own the best of those games already.

A side note: Among the Heavens is a pretty well done time management game, mixed in with some bonus match 3.

I was gifted the game and have about 4 hours in it and have unlocked a little less than half of the areas. It's definitely a good grandma game if that's your thing.

I prefer the pc since there is a lot of keys and you get used to recipes after a while to do them extremely quickly.

In for Descent Underground. If it had been 75% off in the holiday sale, I would have picked it up on steam. Buying this bundle though, I get it for 93% off. That works for me.

Only want Taimumari....looks like a pass for me. Loot Hero DX is a very, very repetitive upgraded flash game. You do have your 20-30 minutes of fun with it though.

I'm only missing Taimumari and Shadows so I will probably pass.

BTW Descent Underground is not one of the ones in danger of being removed. That's just Descent I and II.

Same here. I have low hopes of Descent Underground having a fleshed out singleplayer campaign, now that it's been bundled so quickly.. first alienware and now this. Currently it's MP only.

Hmmm, they're all new but its the only one that caught my eye... I guess I should pass on this bundle.

Drama beginning to stir in the Descent Underground forum, regarding it's plummet from premium/kickstarter pricing into sub $1 keys.

-- The developer responds that it was all for charity and they aren't making anything on it, or they wouldn't have done the bundle.

-- Someone points out that Gala doesn't really do charities anymore and it's not mentioned at all on their site.

-- Developer points to IG's Wikipedia page as a source that they do support charities.

-- Someone else points out that the information is likely dated, and questions why they don't know the name of the charity they agreed to "help"

-- SILENCE.

Maybe Descent Underground turns out to be decent at some point down the road but IG is probably a nail in the games coffin since so much is still unfinished. For less than $2 I will chance it.

Thanks to Blade's help, I can now pretend that I got Descent Underground from that Alienware giveaway.

I'll be "y u no get from alienware"-ing with the best of em' in no time.

Hey it's at least limited, right? RIGHT?

But the good news is that Poopees contacted them and has a great charity where Rakim needs a Big Wheel so they're all on board for that next.

I'm rather amazed that people actually think that they're going to come out ahead on an Early Access or Kickstarter game.
I've no clue WHY anyone would bother unless they already wanted the game in the state it was in or they have such a great love for the property/developer that they're willing to put their money out there and take one for the team because they REALLY, REALLY want this game made.

It's not like this is exactly a NEW thing. Imagine that... people who AREN'T early adopters get things cheap. This stuff happens every few months, you think people would clue in.

I mean, I'd like Psychonauts 2 to be a thing. But I'll be damned if I'm giving them any money for it until it's a complete retail product.

By this point, if you kickstart something or buy an Early Access game and it ends up being bundle fodder before it even gets a retail release... that's really your own damn fault.

For real? I've not only lost all hope in a singleplayer campaign, now I've lost all hope in the game period. Didn't realize the dev was THAT much of a dumbass.

ZOMG WE DINT NO THY WLD SEL SO CHEEP!

That being said, we had no idea how much they would sell it for, and in the end, it is limited, and the game will continue to go up in price.....

And it never occurred to maybe, I don't know, check www.indiegala.com to see how much games were selling for in their bundles?

Also I would not be so sure about those prices going up at all. The relative perceived value of games tends to stay low if they've been bundled.
Oh and they keep insisting money is going to Able Gamers and that's why they did it even though there's no direct evidence. They point to a link on Able Gamers site that lists Indie Gala as one of the organizations they had worked with at one point as 'proof'.

There needs to be a PR firm that caters exclusively to indie game devs. Even if they were half-competent, they'd still be doing a better job than a lot of these guys.

Actually I'm pretty sure a lot of these devs think of bundle sites as "PR firms", like they just sign a contract without really reading anything thinking that it'll get their game some "good visibility". Too bad they don't realize bundle sites have their own interest/agenda that sometimes conflict with theirs, and they sure as hell aren't going to come save your ass once the mob is out with their pitchforks and torches.

hey man, we "early adopt" so that you can get sh!t cheaper and faster.

Don't bite the hands that feed you, bro.

My middle of the night check of tremor shows they're adding AGFPRO/GameGuru/AppGameKit crap... but not the new Monday stuff. :/

They're actively adding stuff now though, so maybe I'll stay up a little longer.

Don't worry, they'll add it all at 4 am when you're sleeping.

There are 2 new games that got added from the Game Maker bundle btw (Heroes of Legionwood and Edolie), for anyone that cares. They weren't added the last time they stocked the bundle.

Also, tremor has been slow lately.. still waiting for my keys from Jan 1st..

I thought it was something with my account not getting keys that quickly due to all the doll videos I was watching... although, them being slow with you probably doesn't rule that out.

And they're done adding stuff now, so they're probably busying buying Monday's bundle, so they can start adding in a half hour since I'm giving up now and going to bed.
