Man this game is insane. It's the best game I have ever played. I'm on level 112 of Tartarus and i'm still not bored. :)

OK I have a few questions for the experts.

1) I found a revolver and some other gun but I can't equip it, why?

2) I fused a weapon to a Persona, went back the following day to pick it up and now my favorite Persona "Ghoul" is gone. How do I get him back with the fused weapon? It was a SMG weapon. I don't see it in my equip menu either.

3) If I don't take a request and time runs out do they reappear later in the game?

4) I saw clothing for the other party members that I can buy. How do you equip them with that character? And can you equip other weapons as well for them? :bouncy:

5) I'm playing the game on Easy as I didn't know what to expect from the game. When i'm finished playing The Journey and start a new game will I be able to keep my stats and character level so I can play it on Medium?

2) It's gone. You lose the persona when you fuse it. You can get it out of the compendium.

3) Nope

4) You have to check their equipment/status in tartarus and you should be able to switch them there. Have you not upgraded their gear all game!?

5) Oh, you're on easy. That's why you haven't needed to upgrade. Not sure about that.

2) So what's the benefit of fusing a weapon to a Persona?

3) Thanks = Replayability :bouncy:

4) I figured it out while in the game. This is my first Persona game so i'm figuring things out as I go.

5) What do you mean by upgrading?

2) Gives you a more impressive weapon (i.e. special abilities or higher damage/hit).

5) My guess is upgrading refers to purchasing newer equipment. On normal mode, having the most up-to-date equipment can often mean the difference between life and death.

It's for someone you don't have in your party as of yet.

Thanks for the explanation fellas much appreciated. :bouncy:

Is the game much harder on normal? I can't imagine playing this game on hard.

It's fairly easy on normal provided you surprise attack enemies and keep making strong personas. If you don't get to attack first then you will eventually be unlucky and die. The boss fights can also be a matter of luck. A bunch of them took me several tries, even with the DoubleJump guide, because if the boss uses its strongest attack before you can heal there's nothing much you can do.

I have a P3 question of my own. I'm in the last month and wondering how leveled up I ought to be before confronting the final boss? Kind of tired of grinding with the end so near!

Late 70s/Early 80s should suffice. Grinding is really easy once you unlock Monad. That place netted me 15 levels in under 30 minutes!

Dang, just read that unlocking Monad in FES requires
killing the Reaper
in addition to reaching the top floor. I guess I'll give one of the non-Armageddon ways a try since leveling up to do that would defeat the purpose. Thanks for the info.

Quick question !

How many different endings without spoilers are there in P3FES? I'm already at Christmas and the story is building up quite nicely.

Two. One could argue that there are more as you will receive slightly different dialogue based on which S-links are maxed, but they have no bearing on the overall ending.

Thanks for the fast response. :bouncy:

One more question. My charm level is maxed out so I can now date Yukari. On Dec. 23 we go walk the dog and she hints that she wants to give me a present for Christmas. Well Christmas Eve and Christmas come and go and nothing happens. Did I miss something?

On Christmas Eve (maybe the 23rd) you get phone calls from all of the girls with maxed s-link. Whichever one you select you get to spend Christmas with and they give you a special accessory to mark the occasion.

Ah OK I got two girls
Yuko and Chihiro that have maxed S.Links. I got two phone calls and I chose one of the two and spend the day at the mall. So I guess the dialog with Yukari didn't refer to her.

I didn't have a maxed out Yukari (she was only at 6 or 7, maxed the same girls Rodster had), but got a call from her and spent Christmas with her anyway. Neither of the other two girls even called me.

Ah OK that makes sense then because Yukari was at level 1. I just started a S. Link with Mitsuri.

You're right - you just have to hit girlfriend status. My apologies for the misleading info.

OK so are these the two endings in the game?
It appears on Dec 31st you either kill Ryoji or you let him live. That's the choice I was given so now i'm off to fight Nyx. Any advice on fighting her?
I'm playing the game on Easy and i'm at Player level 78 and my other characters are at around 70 with the exception of Aigis who's at 58.

Side note: Man this game just rocks! I have never put in over a hundred hours into a game and i'm still enjoying it.

I am finally about to finish this game after over 110 hours. At least, I thought I was. Mainly I came here to rant a little and see if I should even bother to pick it back up.

Minor spoilers ahead (no worse than what's already in here):

I fought Nyx (on medium difficulty, btw) for almost 2 hours last night. I finally whittle down the last form to where it's almost dead, and it uses Night Queen. Before I even get another turn, it has killed one party member (no big deal) and charmed the other two, and Mitsuri casts Diarahan and fully heals Nyx.

WTF? Could it be any more unfair? I don't have much motivation to go back and do that 2 hour fight again, knowing that when it's almost dead it can just have charmed party members heal it completely. I didn't even get a chance to use dis-charm or charmdi. I want to see the ending, but even if I redo the fight will I get a chance?

From what i've read it's better to equip your party members with dis-charm equipment. I haven't fought Nyx yet as i'm padding my stats first but try giving your party members weapons that have anti-charm defense in the weapon.

I'm playing the game on easy just for this reason alone. I hate when developers add an extra measure of bullsh*t to the gaming experience.

p.s. That's one reason why I have little desire to play The Answer as the game is set to HARD right from the get go.

Yeah, I don't really have any random anti-charm equipment. Of course I have Personas for my main character that null charm, but that doesn't keep Mitsuri or Yukari from healing the boss. I guess I can try doing some more level-grinding and just pray that they don't get charmed and heal Nyx before I can kill it.

I got a stupid question for ya. Have you checked all your weapons in your inventory? :bouncy:

I ask that because i'm a noob at the game and I noticed that I had tons of weapons for each of my NPC's that had anti-charm defense when I gave them each of my NPC's. So check the description of each of your weapons and also visit the Police Station and look at the weapons for sale. Find those that have Charm Defense, buy them then give them to each of your NPC's. :)

Weapons don't have charm defense if i remember correctly, they have chance to inflict charm. Armor can have that ability though.

Unless its the new fusion weapons. Haven't replayed Persona 3 with new features.

FYI the best way to stop this is to just fuse a Narcisus I believe and it will often be holding an item that eliminates charm. Just add him to compendium, level him up and get item. Then release and re-summon till you have enough for everyone. That's what I did.

I'll have to check because I know I have weapons with charm resist.

I might be mistaken then, its been a while since i played 3 so I might be misremembering.

Either way the simplest solution is the Narcisus persona which gives you an item that completely nulls charm.

Thanks I'll try that Narcissus thing. Fusing over and over until he holds an item sucks, but it's better than getting charmed by the boss.

I can't go back to town now even if the police station did sell anti-charm items, which usually you can't tell until after you buy the item (it always just says "+ unknown effect" in the description until you buy it).

I'm currently at the end of October and have been playing for about 50 hours or so and I am about level 50. Several characters are saying that there is only one full moon left. Am I towards the end of the game or in the middle (i'm playing the FES version)? I hear some play for 100+ hours....

Thanks!

They mean there's only one large shadow left, since those only come out on full moons and there's only 12 of them. You're still most of the way through, though.

The amount of time spent depends a great deal on how much time you spend on the velvet room fusing and how much you talk to NPCs, I think. I spent a lot of time doing both.

I got Persona 3 FES as a gift, never played a Persona game until this one. I just started playing it, but I'm liking it quite a bit.

Regarding Tartarus, is anything persistent? Like besides the teleporters on say Level 5, 10, etc? Just wondering if chests are randomly generated or not since I tend to just run through a level to get to the stairs.

The in-between floors, including chests and layout, are random.

Thanks for the tip Brian - I was able to fuse a Narcissus with the anti-charm item on my first try, so I quickly got two of those (one each for Mitsuru and Yukari) and now I can fight the boss without fear of the cheap shot! (hopefully this weekend)
